Few substances have experienced such a boom recently as CBD. While only a few years ago few people had heard of these products, today you can find a specialist CBD shop on every corner and it's a multi-billion dollar business involving influencers, movie stars, singers and investors. But is CBD good for your health? And what do scientific studies say about it? That's the subject of today's article.
What is CBD?
CBD stands for a substance called cannabidiol. It is the second most important substance in all of cannabis, after the well-known (and illegal) THC. But while THC is psychoactive and can induce feelings of euphoria or a good mood, CBD is completely non-psychoactive and therefore also legal and widely available. Nevertheless, the cannabinoids, of which there are up to 90 in cannabis, have a somewhat synergistic effect and you should therefore be aware of theWhen choosing a product, bear in mind that supplements containing the full spectrum of cannabinoids are better than isolated CBD.
Where did it come from?
It is important to say that the effects of cannabis have been known since the 3rd century. millennium, when a tea was regularly brewed from this medicinal plant, which was said to relieve pain. However, it should be said in the same breath that it was a very different plant back then. As time went on, marijuana began to be abused, and as this happened, it became desirable to increase the THC content and decrease the amount of CBD, which can counteract some of these effects. So today, specially bred varieties of cannabis can have up to 30% THC content, although decades ago it was demonstrably less.
What are the proven effects of CBD?
If you have ever read various commercial articles, you will have noticed that many manufacturers will tell you thatthat CBD is an absolute miracle that you can use for everything from acne to treating inflammatory processes. And here it's important to say that although many scientific studies look promising, CBD still requires further testing. In fact, a whole host of scientifically proven positive effects have been observed either in animals or in patients with very specific problems. While it's great that positive effects of CBD have been observed on them, that doesn't mean that a healthy person will experience the same effect. For example, studies conducted have found the following:
- It can alleviate specific pain (studies on rats)
- Treats insomnia and anxiety (study conducted on children with post-traumatic stress disorder)
- It can prevent the proliferation of cancer cells (study on mice)
- Improves sleep (study on Parkinson's patients)
- Reduces oxidative stress levels (studies in mice with diabetes)

And when there is any study done on humans, quite often the respondents have taken CBD in combination with THC. However, since the latter is banned in our country, the result of such research is irrelevant for us. So what does this mean? Well, nothing so far. But it looks very promising. Indeed, the research conducted suggests that CBD may (or may not) bring many positive effects to ordinary people. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait a while for these results. Already it seems that CBD may be able to support some people's treatment of acne, and dozens more studies are underway.
Our own experience with CBD
Our own experience with CBD is quite extensive, and we have tested this supplement quite extensively here at the editorial office. My colleague Michal, for example, took charge of a review of cheap CBD from Bulk Powders - and as you might expect, there was no effect. But those of us who have tried quality CBD with a full spectrum of cannabinoids and ideally added terpenes for maximum effect have experienced a few effects. And in our experience, CBD is a very good supplement for relaxation and sleep support - unlikel from melatonin, it helps you fall asleep but doesn't have the negative effects of morning fatigue. Of course, in our case it may be a placebo, but in any case this is how CBD has worked for several of us independently, which is why we can recommend it. However, in the same breath we would add that it is not worth expecting any unrealistic miracles from it.
What CBD do we recommend you try?
If you want to try CBD out of curiosity, you need to choose a good quality product - you will usually pay a little less for a cheap one, but you won't get any effect at all. The more expensive products can cost well over £1,000, but are definitely worth it. We particularly liked the products from CBD STAR, which are available in several variants. If you have never tried CBD, we definitely recommend the comprehensive NATURAL if you have a specific problem.m like us and want to promote sleep, the NIGHT variant containing a specific combination of terpenes may be the solution . Anyway, don't worry, we are still testing CBD one hundred and six and we will soon provide you with an independent ranking with other products.

Why can you trust us?
Hey! Hey! I'm Mirek and I've been working at World Fitness almost since the beginning, except for a small break. But before that I lived only in the gym for a few years, doing deadlifts and power triathlon, going to competitions and winning a few medals.
Probably the one I value the most is the national record in the WUAP federation. But besides working out, I was also interested in food and supplements, I liked to enjoy my free timeI used to read different researches and professional books in my free time to know as much as possible.
