Donuts. An addiction that many people can't shake. The sweetness I see in the refrigerated case whenever I go to the gym. Pretty good trial by fire, huh? :D The gym and next door the candy store with the sweetest, most overcooked goodies you can imagine! Fortunately, I have to say that I avoid it and go to the gym with my eyes fixed straight onin front of me, anticipating the beautiful body I'll have if I don't enter that sweet-smelling shop.
But what if one could indulge occasionally, healthily and without regrets? That's what we're going to look at in today's recipe for these apple strudel-flavored protein donuts that will definitely won't give you a belly flab, but on the contrary, they'll give you quality carbohydrates and protein, for example after a workout. :)
Ingredients for about 7 pieces:
- 180g wholemeal spelt flour
- 20g of apple fibre
- 1 grated apple
- 1 serving of vanilla protein, and you can take inspiration from our comparison of the best whey proteins.
- A pinch of baking powder, cinnamon
- 2 eggs
- 175ml water
- 2 teaspoons honey (if you don't have sweetened protein, add more)
- coconut oil to grease the moulds
For the decoration I used:
- 3 cubes of 81% chocolate from Lidl
- ½ teaspoon of coconut oil
- Coconut, oatmeal, blueberries, whatever we like...
Procedure:
- In a bowl, mix together flour, apple fiber, protein, cinnamon and a pinch of baking powder.
- Coarsely grate 1 medium apple and add it to the mixture, mixing well and adding the rest of the wet ingredients.
- This will make a thicker dough that is nice to work with. Grease your moulds well with coconut oil and then use a teaspoon to transfer the donut mixture into them. Form the dough into about 6-7 pieces.
- Then all you have to do is put the donuts in the oven and bake for 15 minutes at 180°C. The dough will be softer and wetter thanks to the apple, definitely don't worry about it not being baked :)
- Immediately after removing from the oven, take the donuts out of the moulds.
- If you want to decorate them, melt chocolate with a little coconut oil in a hot bath, otherwise you can serve them on their own or with cottage cheese or peanut butter.

Hey! Hey! I'm Mirek and I've been working at World Fitness almost since the beginning, except for a small break. But before that I lived only in the gym for a few years, doing deadlifts and power triathlon, going to competitions and winning a few medals.
Probably the one I value the most is the national record in the WUAP federation. But besides working out, I was also interested in food and supplements, I liked to enjoy my free timeI used to read different researches and professional books in my free time to know as much as possible.
