Protein water: a completely useless product

The market for food supplements and health food today is literally crammed with an unbelievable amount of all kinds of products, which is almost impossible to find. Some of them are really useful and worth knowing, others are completely useless and you are basically just throwing money up in the air by buying them. However, distinguishing between the two groups may not be easy at first glance. So in today's article we're going to take a look at one unconventional but recently quite popular product. Protein water is a big trend especially abroad, but it is gradually making its way to the Czech market. Is this novelty worth following and worth trying, or is it better to avoid it?

An alternative to classic protein?

Manufacturers of protein water often present their products as an alternative to classic proteins. The main benefits they highlight are the maintenance of muscle tissue and the promotion of muscle growth. The problem is that protein water usually contains only a fraction of the proteins contained in classic whey proteins. Does protein water have any benefits?

If protein water cannot replace regular protein, does it have any practical use at all? The argument is that if you drink protein water instead of plain water, you will take in more protein during the day, which is undoubtedly a big plus. But this reasoning runs into two major problems. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, the currently available protein waters actually containare actually minimal in protein and therefore far from being the ideal way to supplement protein during the day. In addition, these products cost quite a bit of money and thus are not financially worth using as a source of protein. There are protein chips, protein tortillas, protein bread, protein cookies, protein pasta and of course protein water. It's clear that protein is an absolutely essential nutrient for strength athletes and that it's importantIt's important that they get enough of it throughout the day, but nothing should be overdone. If you have a balanced diet, you can get enough protein without having to include it in literally every ingredient in your diet. If you want a drink, plain water will do the trick.
