Supermarket protein bars are relatively bland foods that you usually don't pay any attention to until you need one. And the same was the case for us recently when we wanted to buy some at least a little bit of a healthy bar.
But their ingredients were mostly so bad that we decided to buy as many bars as possible and do a really big and comprehensive test. Is it possible to find good quality products in the supermarket, or is it pointless to try? Find out in our article today.

1. Corny Flapjack

- Name: corny flapjack
- Weight: 65g
- Price:
- Where bought: Tesco
- Our rating: 5/10
How we rate the ingredients
The composition of the Corny Flapjack bar depends somewhat on your point of view. On the one hand we find the use of pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries and oatmeal very positive, on the other hand we find the overall impression is spoiled by the use of glucose-fructose syrup, sugar, emulsifiers and other ingredients that probably should not be in a good quality bar.
How we liked the bar
Taste-wise, the bar is rather bland, but still manages to look rather unnatural and over-sweetened. Judging by the name, I was looking forward to an overly pronounced bar with a natural flavour cranberry and pumpkin seeds, but that's not exactly what this bar was.
Conclusion
An ingredient that certainly has flaws is in this case complemented by a flavor that mostI can't recommend this bar. Even if you only have limited options there are certainly better options.
2. Nutrend Voltage Energy Bar

- Name: Nutrend Voltage Energy Bar
- Weight: 65g
- Price:
- Where bought: Lidl
- Our rating: 5/10
How do we rate the ingredients?
As you will see in our article today, Nutrend can also can make really high quality bars with ingredients that most of its competitors can envy. But Voltage Energy Bar is definitely one of the worse ones, if only because of its glucose content.syrup, palm oil and other ingredients that shouldn't be in a quality bar.
How we liked the bar
What I have to highlight about Voltage Energy Bar is its relatively large satiating effect, which few competing bars have. It has a very interesting consistency, but in terms of taste I was not at all impressed by it, as it looks quite artificial and the vegetable oils used are noticeable in my opinion.
Conclusion
A bar with a below average composition and about the same taste. I definitely do not recommend Voltage Energy Bar, because even die-hard Nutrend fans are able to pick much better bars from the brand's repertoire.
3. Nutrend Flapjack

- Nutrend Flapjack.
- Weight: 100g
- Price:
- Where bought: Lidl
- Our rating: 6.5/10
How we rate the ingredients
Apart from the classic information we mention with most other bars, the Flapjack from Nutrend, we must highlight the high fibre content, which is specifically 9g per 100g of the product. Otherwise, the bar is unfortunately very similar to the others - it contains palm oil, glucose syrup and other not so happily chosen ingredients.
How we liked the bar
Taste-wise, the Flapjack is quite sweet for my taste, but otherwise really good. The bar contains whole cacao nibs, the taste of which is quite intense and reliably beats the typical taste of oatmeal.
Conclusion
Although I have already used a similar review in today's testing, I have to write it again in relation to this bar. This is a really great bar in case you are looking for a calorie-dense snack for some "cheat day."
4. Nutrend Musli Profigur

- Name: Nutrend Musli Profigur
- Weight: 33g
- Price:
- Where bought: Lidl
- Our rating: 5.5/10
How we rate the ingredients
When you hear the name Profigur, it may evoke a bar that helps you lose weight. However, you'll find 33.6g of sugars per 100g, which really isn't much of a prize. What's more, the ingredients contain both palm and palm kernel fat and glucose-fructose syrup, which isn't exactly the happiest choice.
How we liked the bar
Taste-wise, Profigur is a pretty good bar, it 's a little sweeter, but you can really and authentically taste the hazelnut flavour. Although there are tastier bars out there, I can recommend Profigur.
Conclusion
Nutrend can make good quality bars, but this is one of the worse ones in our opinion. The taste is good, but even that doesn't make up for the poor ingredients, as we are still in the realm of fitness bars.
5. Nutrend Raw Bar

- Name: Nutrend Raw Bar
- Weight: 50g
- Price:
- Where bought: Lidl
- Our rating: 8/10
How we rate the ingredients
As with the Raw Seed Bar, we rate the ingredients very highly. The bar is available in three flavours, with the base of each being dates, and then it always depends on the variant you choose. We tried the cashew and apple, where there were only pressed apples, finely chopped nuts and the aforementioned dates, which is a very good composition.
How we liked it
We have to admit that Raw Bar has a lot to offer in terms of taste as well. The nuts are really finely crushed in this bar, so you don't have to worry about whole nuts breaking your teeth on them.
Conclusion
Nutrend has convinced us in this testing that some of the products in their repertoire are truly quality, and the Raw Bar is undoubtedly one of them. Personally, I definitely recommend this bar as it is a good compromise between great taste and top quality.
6. Nutrend Raw Seeds Bar

- Name: nutrend Raw Seeds Bar
- Weight: 50g
- Price:
- Where bought: Lidl
- Our rating: 8/10
How we rate the ingredients
To be honest, the Raw Seeds Bar is one of the first very successful products from Nutrend. It contains really high quality ingredients such as dried dates, prunes, dried apples, goji and various seeds (Sunflower peeled, flaxseeds, chia seeds, white quinoa and sesame seeds), which is an extremely high quality formula that I have absolutely nothing to fault.
How we liked the bar
Taste-wise, we have nothing to fault the Raw Seeds Bar either. It tastes completely natural, which is the most important criterion for my evaluation. No unnecessary fats, no non-functional additives or similar ingredientsmake this bar the best choice if you are hungry.
Conclusion
A bar with a good composition and an even better taste. We have no choice but to recommend it. The only downside is the higher content of sugars, which, although naturally occurring, still make this bar an unsuitable treat for any reduction diet.
7. Nutrend De Nuts

- Name: Nutrend De Nuts
- Weight: 35g
- Price:
- Where bought: DM drogerie
- Our rating: 6,5/10
How do we evaluate the composition
De-Nuts are bars that you have seen many times in supermarkets. And although they may give the impression that they have nothing to do with a healthy lifestyle, their ingredients are quite good. Aside from the glucose syrup, the bar is made up of only high-quality ingredients such as cashews, almonds, peanuts, sesame or honey.
How we liked it
Taste-wise, this is another very good bar. In terms of consistency, it is a bit harder, but in any case it feels very natural and there are no artificial ingredients.
Conclusion
A very tasty bar with a great formula, the only downside of which is the really small packaging, which definitely won't fill you up. I really enjoyed the bar, but unfortunately I would be able to eat at least 10 of them.
8. Cerea Flapjack

- Name: cerea Flapjack
- Weight: 60g
- Price:
- Where bought: DM drogerie
- Our rating: 6/10
How do we rate the ingredients?
Although the nutritional values of the bar don't look too good, the ingredients used are of high quality - you'll find butter, dark Belgian chocolate, almonds and coconut. Not only sugar, but also honey and sweetened milk have been used to sweeten it. In my opinion, far better ingredients than palm oil and glucose syrup, so I rate the ingredients very positively indeed.
How did we like the bar?
Taste-wise, this bar is definitely one of the best on the market. The quality of the ingredients is reflected in the fact that the taste is completely natural and without any artificial aftertaste. The bar contains whole pieces of dark chocolate that melt pleasantly in the mouth, coconut andThe whole bar is very natural and without any flavour enhancers, the whole bar is really well balanced.
Conclusion
A great bar with a very good taste that you will love too. Unfortunately, the ingredients used reflect on the nutritional values, which are definitely not suitable for athletes on a diet.
9. Saturo Cocoa Bar

- Name: Saturo Cocoa Bar
- Weight: 65g
- Price:
- Where bought: Rohlik.cz
- Our rating: 6/10
How we rate the ingredients
In terms of ingredients, the Saturo protein bar is definitely one of the better ones. The chicory fibre, ground flaxseed, for example, are definitely worth highlighting.pea protein, which is one of the most useful plant proteins. On the other hand, for example, the mixture of minerals, led by magnesium oxide, is not a strictly necessary raw material.
How we liked the bar
Our entire editorial team was clearly disappointed with the taste of the Saturo bar. In terms of consistency it is very hard and although we were quite looking forward to it, the taste is extremely bland, and it's very difficult to detect that it's cocoa-like.
Conclusion
One of the most expensive bars in our testing is definitely not one of the worst, but it's not one of the best in our comparison either. You will pay almost for it and taste-wise it is definitely the best. You can't expect a great experience, although the ingredients are quite good.
10. Tomm's Flapjack

- Name: Tomm's Flapjack
- Weight: 100g
- Price:
- Where bought: Rohlik.cz
- Our rating: 5,5/10
How we rate the ingredients
While the design of Tomm's Flapjack looks very good, the ingredients are definitely nothing special. You'll find partially inverted sugar syrup, sugar, palm oil and other ingredients that I wouldn't quite imagine in a quality bar.
How we liked the bar
Honestly, even in terms of taste, Tomm's Flapjack isn't who knows what a winner. It's reasonably good, but it could be a little more substantial for my taste. Moreover, it looks unnatural, with noticeable vegetable oils and a lot of sugar, and therefore I don't recommend it.
Conclusion
Quite a lot of simple sugars, unnecessary added ingredients and an unnatural taste. In short, just another bar that we definitely do not recommend and if it is in ourcomparison, you will definitely find a better one.
11. Blackfriars Flapjack

- Blackfriars Flapjack.
- Weight: 110g
- Price:
- Where bought: Kulturistika.com
- Our rating: 5.5/10
How we rate the ingredients
In terms of composition, the bar is not nearly as good as it is in terms of taste. Unfortunately, you'll find palm and palm kernel oil, glucose syrup, ethers, and other ingredients that definitely shouldn't be in a quality bar. Moreover, in 100g you will find 30g of sugars, which is really a lot.
How we liked it
Taste-wise, Blackfriars Flapjack is unquestionably one of the best flapjacks you can ever get on the market. We tried the cappuccino variant, which is really delicious, but you can choose from eight othereight other unusual flavours including black cherry, caramel and extreme chocolate.
Conclusion
If you're looking for a healthy bar with good ingredients, avoid Blackfriars Flapjack. However, if you're having a cheat day and can afford to take in more calories, it's definitely a good choice.
12. Amix Sport Power Energy Bar

- Amix Sport Power Energy Bar.
- Weight: 45g
- Price:
- Where bought: Bodybuilding.com
- Our rating: 5.5/10
How we rate the ingredients
A classic sports energy bar with a relatively high carbohydrate content. Some of the ingredients are very much appreciated (for example, instant rice flour, amaranth, quinoa, or buckwheat), but others we think would be better in a quality should not be in a good quality bar, for example palm and palm kernel oil or glucose-fructose syrup.
How we liked the bar
We tried the bar in the blood orange flavour, which I think is a great flavour for pre-workout supplements, for example, but it's a bit pointless in a candy bar. The bar is very strange in taste and although it contains orange peel, it looks a bit inauthentic and artificial to me.
Conclusion
The Sport Power Energy Cake bar honestly doesn't have anything that would convince me to purchase it again. The taste is rather below average and the composition also reaches the average only with difficulty. I would definitely choose another bar from our ranking.
13. Max Sport Raw Paleo Bar

- Name: Max Sport Raw Paleo Bar
- Weight: 50g
- Price:
- Where bought: Bodybuilding.com
- Our rating: 8/10
How we rate the ingredients
As our testing is slowly coming to a close, we're gettingWe're getting to the bars whose ingredients are considerably more concise. Specifically, this bar from Max Sport contains only dried dates, apple, almond mealground cinnamon and cocoa butter, a composition that we have absolutely nothing to fault.
How we liked it
The apple and cinnamon variant is really delicious in terms of taste. It feels completely natural and I'm glad that at least at the end of our testing we came across bars that didn't have any cheap vegetable oil or additives. Some of you may find it a little too sweet, but it was optimal for my taste.
Conclusion
Raw Paleo isn't over-sweetened and feels completely natural, which are the two main criteria I have for bars. And when you add in the good ingredients and the excellent value for money, there's nothing to complain about at all.
14. Lifefood Lifebar Bio Raw Bar

- Name: Lifefood Lifebar Bio Raw Bar
- Weight: 47g
- Price:
- Where bought: Rohlik.cz
- Our rating: 8,5/10
How we rate the ingredients
Lifebar bars do contain a whopping 40g of sugar per 100g, but they are absolutely nothing sweetened. In the 'coconut' variant you'll find dates, coconut, almonds, cashews and coconut oil, so a very good composition from my point of view. The ingredients of the chocolate variant are also very good and consist of dates, almonds, cashews, coconut, raw and organic cocoa mass and cocoa powder. So whichever variant you choose, we have nothing to fault it.
How we liked it
Whichever variant you choose, they both share a completely natural and full flavour that you're sure to love. I myself would definitely prefer the chocolate one, which is a bit more intense and distinctlymore intense, as the coconut variant may be too bland for some.
Conclusion
Another in a series of bars that are excellent both in terms of taste and composition. You can choose any of the variants on offer and I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Unfortunately, you will have to pay extra because one bar costs less than .
15. Bombus Raw Energy Bar

- Bombus Raw Energy Bar
- Weight: 50g
- Price:
- Where bought: Rossmann
- Our rating: 9.5/10
How we rate the ingredients
The ingredients of Bombus bars are simply unbeatable. In fact, all the bars usually contain only three ingredients, which are quite evident at first glance. The base is always dried dates and the other two ingredients are usually in the name of the bar. There is simply nothing to complain about with this product.
How we liked them
Since we buy these bars regularly, we have tried almost all the available variants and can afford to compare. We will therefore present a more detailed evaluation of the selected bars in bullet points:
- cocoa&cocoa beans have only pieces of cocoa beans and cocoa as such. From my point of view, this variant is the best in terms of taste, you can feel the bittersweet taste of cocoa right out of the bar, the cocoa bean pieces crunch in your mouth and you can't put the bar down until it's just the wrapper.
- The peanuts and dates are very intense, because up to 45% are peanuts. The rest is made up of dates, plus there's a pinch of salt in the bar. The ingredients of this bar are good, but anyway, taste-wise, only peanut lovers will appreciate it.
- Cocoa&coconut is another great option, in addition to dates there is coconut and cocoa, which is a truly brilliant combination that complements each other perfectly. Whole pieces of grated coconut are represented in the bar, which perfectly complements the intense taste of cocoa.
- Lemon&coconut is another great option which is a combination of coconut, dates and 1% attributed to lemon juice and lemon oil. The lemon flavour is really noticeable, but not overly pronounced to the point of disturbing the other ingredients. A nice and light bar that you will love too.
- Apple and cinnamon is again a great flavour. To be honest, I didn't taste the cinnamon too strongly, but the apple gives the bar a smooth consistency and makes it easy to eat.
- Orange and Cocoa Bean is the only bar in our testing that has more ingredients, namely 4. Still, it's delicious without any nonsense additives, there's no added sugar, colouring or flavouring. Just dates, coconut, cocoa beans and orange concentrate.
Conclusion
Unbeatable quality, great taste, plus such a wide range that absolutely everyone has to choose. I definitely recommend it, whichever variant you choose. It's great not only when you're hungry, but also for challenging hikes in the countryside.
16. Mixitka

- Name: mixitka
- Weight: 50g
- Price:
- Where bought: Fitness007
- Our rating: 9,5/10
How do we rate the ingredients?
One of the best options that we would recommend choosing for absolutely anyone looking for a great compromise between taste, price and quality is the Coffee and Cashew Bar from Mixit. Like Bombus, it contains only three basic ingredients, namely dates, cashew kernels and ground coffee.
How did we like the bar?
Mixitka is exactly the type of bar that suits me. It tastes completely natural, all the ingredients used are noticeable, but at the same time it doesn't overpower. The coffee adds a completely different dimension to the product and if you love it as much as I do, you'll love this bar too.
Conclusion
As hard as I try, the only downside I can think of with this bar is the slightly higher price tag. In fact, you'll pay a bit more for the Mixitka than previous Bombus bars. Otherwise, I can only recommend it, both in terms of taste and composition.
Well, that's all for our testing today. If you have any questions related to supermarket bars, feel free to ask in the comments and we'll be happy to answer.
Protein Bar Test
1. Úsovsko Fit Protein Bar

- Name.
- Weight: 35g
- Price:
- Where bought: Kaufland
- Our rating: 2.5/10
Ingredients
This bar contains 25g of simple carbohydrates per 100g, which we think is a really high amount. We consider protein sources to be a negative as well. Dried whey protein is a very inefficient protein, as drying causes due to the high temperatures, some of the important fractions of the protein are degraded, which impairs usability. The other source is soy protein, which is more or less standard in cheaper protein bars. The bar contains about 4% oatmeal, but it also contains a lot of ingredients that have no justification - vegetable fats, starch syrup and others.
How we liked it
Taste-wise, the bar doesn't taste too bad, basically tasting similar to an oversweetened breakfast cereal. I found it extremely sweet, the natural taste I look for in most products was not found here at all.
Conclusion
I honestly don't recommend the FIT Protein bar too highly. Already because of the high content of simple sugars, I think it has nothing to do with fitness at alland the ingredients used are cheap and have little justification. In short a bar that is comparable in nutritional value and composition to any non-FIT bar you can find in the supermarket.
2. Nestlé Fitness Bar

- Name: Nestlé Fitness Bar
- Weight: 23.5g
- Price:
- Where bought: Kaufland
- Our rating: 2.1/10
Ingredients
Rather than the composition of this bar, I appreciate the original idea of using ourI like the idea of using the word "fitness" to boost sales of this product, which has nothing to do with fitness at all. In 100g of the bar you will find roughly 21g of simple carbohydrates, with both sugar and glucose syrup in the ingredients. Compared to the previous bar, there is already a hint of healthy ingredients, such as whole grain cereals or cane molasses. However, the quantity is not good.
How we liked it
Taste-wise, we were honestly relatively impressed with the bar, it is bold, but again the high simple sugar content is noticeable. Again, I have to say that if you've ever had Nestlé's breakfast cereal, their bar is very similar .
Conclusion
Nestlé's fitness bar is also not a good choice when you are hungry and want to eat something at least a little bit healthy. The good taste is a plus, but quite possibly the only one. The amount of healthy ingredients is negligible compared to the bad ones, and the impression is equally spoiled by the many simple sugars.
3. Hero Corny Protein

- Name: Hero Corny Protein
- Weight: 50g
- Price:
- Where bought: Kaufland
- Our rating: 2.9/10
Ingredients
The third bar we looked at was the Corny Protein 30% bar. And how did it stand up to the test? Basically the same as the previous two. This time we liked the pea protein content, which has one of the best amino acid spectrums of the plant proteins, but the bar at firstm place in the composition contains glucose-fructose syrup, then you will find palm oil, palm fat and last but not least 8g of sugars per 100g of the bar.
How we liked it
Flavour-wise, as usual, the bar was over-sweetened but tasted quite good. Personally, I liked it much more than the regular Corny bars, but the taste was stillIt's just that the ingredients have nothing to do with a healthy bar.
Conclusion
If we were to give the bar a review, it is probably perceived in the same way as the previous two. The taste may be passable, but if you're looking for a healthy snack, you'll have to look elsewhere. Once again, Corny has tried to target customers who don't study the ingredients too much and force something that will give their body protein quickly and easily.
4. Maxi Vita Protein Bar

- Name: Maxi Vita Protein Bar
- Weight: 40g
- Price:
- Where bought: DM Drogerie
- Our rating: 3.1/10
Ingredients
In addition to the amount of protein, the protein bar also attracts you with its magnesium content, which is undoubtedly very essential for athletes. Unfortunately, however, it is a very cheap magnesium oxide, the usability of which is only 4%. The source of protein in this case is again soy protein, which, although deficient in some amino acids, is a relatively acceptable choice.
How we liked it
Taste-wise, we weren't impressed with the bar either. It's bland, the taste of chia seeds or apricot is only really remotely recognisable. In return, you can feel that there is a bit more sugar in the bar than there should be.
Conclusion
We were not impressed with the Maxi Vita bar either in terms of taste or composition, so we think it would be better to choose another alternative.
5. Sportness Eiweiss 32%

- Sportness Eiweiss 32%
- Weight: 45g
- Price:
- Where bought: DM Drogerie
- Our rating: 3.4/10
Ingredients
Protein bars from DM drugstores may be popular, but at least the 32% protein version doesn't offer much of anything good. The ingredients are again quite high in simple carbohydrates (specifically 28g per 100g barInch), palm fat, glucose and fructose syrup and other unnecessary substances. Calcium caseinate is also listed in the protein sources, very poorly useless protein produced by chemical reactions with calcium hydroxide. Similarly, collagen hydrolysate is not a very good choice either, but I understand that to reduce the price these cheap sources are necessary.
How we liked it
Taste-wise the bar wasn't bad, honestly its sticky consistency is quite reminiscent of the One Bar, which earned one of the top spots in our comparison of the best protein bars. Again, I was unfortunately bothered by the noticeable sugar content, the bar was much sweeter than I would have imagined.
Conclusion
I don't recommend this bar too much, as the low price obviously translates to poorer quality. If you're tempted by these bars, I'd definitely rather invest in the 50% protein option, which we'll break down in a moment.
6. Sportness Eiweiss 50%

- Sportness Eiweiss 50%.
- Weight: 45g
- Price:
- Where bought: DM Drogerie
- Our rating: 6.5/10
Ingredients
This version of the popular bar is far better in terms of ingredients than the aforementioned variant. The problem with collagen hydrolysate and calcium caseinate remains, but at 100g this bar is still the best. The bar contains more than 25g less simple sugars, and you won't find any palm oil in the vanilla flavour. From our point of view, this variant is much better.
How we liked it
Taste-wise, we have nothing to complain about. The white chocolate has a rather interesting consistency, thanks to the crunchy balls coated in whiteThe consistency is again reminiscent of the aforementioned ONE bar. We were also pleased with the vanilla flavour, as it was even much less sweet.
Conclusion
Many protein bars from well-known manufacturers contain CFM proteins, for example. However, these are costly and therefore you won't see them in similar bars. On the other hand, if you are craving for cheap bars available in drugstores, Sportness Eiweiss 50% is definitely one of the better ones .
One Bar - A taste orgasm in the form of a protein bar? (Review)
7. Nutrend Deluxe Protein Bar

- Name: Nutrend Deluxe Protein Bar
- Weight: 60g
- Price:
- Where bought: Lidl
- Our rating: 6.9/10
Ingredients
Rational reasoning would be that one of the leading supplement manufacturers would produce quality protein bars. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a single bar from Nutrend to confirm this assumption. Deluxe is one of the better ones, it contains quite a bit of fiber, as well as 32g of protein per 100g. One of the protein sources is the harder to use beef gelatin, in thepalm and palm kernel oil and 12g of sugars per 100g.
How we liked it
Definitely one of the better bars you'll find in Nutrend's repertoire. The topping tastes very good, the inside is a bit empty and a bit artificial, plus the bar contains a wafer which is more or less tasteless. However, I believe that it would find its fans and if it had a good composition, the taste is definitely passable.
Conclusion
In the case of this protein bar, there are admittedly a few factors that our overall impression, but ultimately it is not the worst possible choice. In fact, as you'll soon find out, Nutrend also makes significantly worse bars. If you're a die-hard fan of the company, this is probably the best bar you can indulge in. Still, there are definitely better alternatives on the market.
8. Nutrend EVOQ Protein Bar

- Nutrend EVOQ Protein Bar.
- Weight: 35g
- Price:
- Where bought: DM Drogerie
- Our rating: 3.5/10
Ingredients
Evoq is more or less the only bar from Nutrend that boasts a low carbohydrate content. But that's probably more or less the only advantage. The protein source is again beef gelatin, among other things, and contains nonsensical vegetable fats, flavourings, colourings and preservatives. Moreover, it is available at a price that I think will put off the vast majority of potential buyers.
How we liked it
Didn't like it. It's not often that we have to throw out a dish in our newsroom, however, the peanut butter flavor was disgusting. It didn't resemble peanuts at all, the smell itself evoked more like some kind of dog food. A bland, artificial-looking bar.
Conclusion
Looking at this bar, I can't think of any other phrase than wasted money. Flavour-wise, the bar is worthless, and the ingredients are huge. flaws, and it's available at such a price that you might as well choose the best bars on the market from our comparison.
9. Nutrend Excelent Protein Bar

- Nutrend Excelent Protein Bar.
- Weight: 40g
- Price:
- Where bought: Lidl
- Our rating: 4.5/10
Ingredients
The Excelent protein bar is so excellent that it contains "only" 30 grams of sugar per 100g . I appreciate the absence of gelatin hydrolysate, however vegetable oils, flavourings preservatives, invert sugar and other unnecessary ingredients still remain .
How we liked it
Again, a crazy sweet bar that is nothing special for my taste . The flavour is artificial, nor does it taste extremely distinctive. Much better than the Evoq, but still not as good as the Deluxe.
Conclusion
My view on most of Nutrend's bars is more or less the same. Unnecessary ingredients, unnecessarily high sugar content, unnecessarily high price. Don't be fooled by the good-looking packaging and reputable company, you can definitely get much better protein bars.
10. Nutrend Protein Bar

- Nutrend Protein Bar.
- Weight: 55g
- Price:
- Where bought: Lidl
- Our rating: 4.0/10
Ingredients
Again, a high quality formula with 30g of simple carbohydrates per 100g, palm and palm-oil fat, invert sugar and other unnecessary ingredients. Another compelling reason not to buy this bar is the fact that glucose-fructose syrup is first in the ingredients. This is a very bad business card for any bar, let alone a product for .
How we liked it
I can't seem to find Nutrend's bars to my liking, but I wasn't impressed with the Protein Bar either. The taste was again bland, with a noticeable high content of sugars, artificial flavours and preservatives.
Conclusion
Definitely one of the worse bars that the wide repertoire of Nutrend offers. I would rather invest in bars that are cheaper and have less sugars. In fact, this bar is comparable in composition to "non-fitness" bars that at least don't pretend to be anything.
11. MaxSport Slim Zone

- Name: MaxSport Slim Zone
- Weight: 40g
- Price:
- Where bought: Rohlík.cz
- Our rating: 7.4/10
Ingredients
Slim Zone bar surprised us quite pleasantly. Among other things, steviol-glycosides, a natural sweetener from the stevia plant, were used to sweeten it. 7g of sugar per 100g, which is still within the norm, and the whey concentrate content is also a good choice. On the other hand, the impression is spoiled by palm oil and fat, which probably shouldn't be in good quality bars.
How we liked it
The bar isn't too strong in terms of taste, but I appreciate that it's not as sweet as competing products. The vanilla/walnut flavor is perhaps better, as it resembles a really some nutty pralines or nougat, but the fruit variant is not a bad choice either.
Conclusion
Despite its minor flaws, this bar is probably the best Max Sport has to offer. It is quite difficult to find in regular supermarkets, we had to use the services of Rohlik.cz, but we think this bar was worth it.
12. MaxSport Royal Protein Bar

- Name: MaxSport Royal Protein Bar
- Weight: 60g
- Price:
- Where bought: Rohlík.cz
- Our rating: 7/10
Ingredients
The Royal bar is basically very similar in composition to the Slim Zone mentioned above. While it has a slightly higher protein content, it goes hand in hand with a higher sugar content. This time it is 22g of simple carbohydrates, which doesn't resemble a quality protein bar at all. There is still a problem with the use of palm kernel oil and other unnecessary ingredients.
How we liked it
Although the mango flavour only contains about 1g of real mango in one bar, the taste is intense and makes a strong impact. The bar smells lovely, also the consistency is soft and pleasant, however it is more the work of the various additives than the fact that you can really smell the real mango from the bar.
Conclusion
If you don't mind the high carbohydrate content, taste-wise the bar is pretty decent. Likewise, the protein sources aren't downright bad either, so if you're hungry and need something sweet, this bar isn't a bad choice. But don't expect anything healthy.
13. MaxSport Protein Kex Bar

- Name: MaxSport Protein Kex Bar
- Weight: 40g
- Price:
- Where bought: Rohlík.cz
- Our rating: 7.5/10
Ingredients
The Kex bar is basically identical to the previous ones. It has a slightly lower sugar content, namely 9g per 100g, but all the otherThe other ingredients that we faulted the previous bars for, remain here.
How we liked it
We dare say that the KEX bar was one of the best we've tasted in this big test. It smells of real nuts and tastes like Tatranky with more chocolate.
Conclusion
The KEX bar still has its faults, but its low sugar content, relatively good protein sources and great The good taste are compelling reasons to prefer this bar over the vast majority of competing products. It's great for hiking, going to school or work, and when you're just hungry.

14. MaxSport Protein Cake Bar

- Name: MaxSport Protein Cake Bar
- Weight: 50g
- Price:
- Where bought: Rohlík.cz
- Our rating: 5.2/10
Ingredients
The first and last bar from Max Sport that we have tried that does not contain palm oil. For example, you will find 3% chia seeds and only 5g of sugars. The cake does have its flaws, but compositionally it's the best Max Sport has to offer.
How we liked it
One of the two bars in our comparison that unfortunately had to end up in the bin. In taste, smell and shape, it resembles dog biscuits rather than a "Cake".
Conclusion
A bar with a good composition that unfortunately failed to combine with at least a somewhat acceptable taste. Definitely don't expect any gourmet experience, but the ingredients are not bad this time.
15. MaxSport Protein Bar

- Name: MaxSport Protein Bar
- Weight: 60g
- Price:
- Where bought: Rohlík.cz
- Our rating: 4/10
Ingredients
Basically, we revolve around the same problems over and over again. The Protein Bar contains palm oil, sugar, various vegetable oils and syrups that have no place in a quality bar. If you read our article on 7 criteria a quality bar should meet, it should be clear to you that we recommend avoiding these.
How we liked it
Taste-wise , one of the most artful bars I've ever tasted. The strawberry flavour was not even slightly noticeable, instead the bar formed a sticky, tasteless mixture in the mouth. I definitely do not recommend it.
Conclusion
A bar with a bad composition and a bad taste, and at a relatively high price. If you're going to sin, I recommend choosing a bar that you can at least taste.
16. MIG 21 Protein Bar

- Name: MIG 21 Protein Bar
- Weight: 60g
- Price:
- Where bought: Kaufland
- Our rating: 4.2/10
Ingredients
Looking at the Mig21 bar, I get the feeling that all the bars are exactly the same. The same problems are always the same - the use of palm oil, sugar, glucose, sugar, sugar, glucose, glucose.and fructose syrup and other unnecessary ingredients... Looking at this barbar, which even has a whopping 30g of simple sugars per 100g, I feel that it's far better to buy a regular bar that at least doesn't pretend to be anything. In fact, the caffeinated version of the bar is very similar, with only 20g of sugars per 100g, but it's honestlyfrankly, I don't see any extra benefit in pumping caffeine out of a protein bar.
How we liked it
If you like Tatranka, I'm almost certain you'll love the Mig21 protein bar too. It tastes very similar, plus it's beautifully crunchy, so taste-wise we certainly have nothing to fault it .
Conclusion
A great-tasting bar, but definitely not a healthy one. If you're craving something sweet and want to sin, this bar will delight you with its relatively high protein content. But if you want something healthy, this bar is out of the question.
17. Tekmar Protein Bar

- Tekmar Protein Bar.
- Weight: 60g
- Price:
- Where bought: Kaufland
- Our rating: 7.5/10
Ingredients
We were curious about Tekmar Protein simply because it was one of the most expensive bars in our comparison. And we were only half satisfied. On the one hand, it has only 3.5g of simple carbs and a good amount of fibre, on the other hand, it still contains palm oil, thickeners or flavourings.
How we liked it
Tekmar Protein was one of the worst tasting protein bars we've tasted. The powdery consistency honestly didn't bother us too much, anyway nor was the bar over-sweetened, but the taste was really bland and felt very artificial.
Conclusion
The Tekmar Protein Bar is the first indication that protein bars from the supermarket won't be all wasted money. It still has the flies in the ingredients as well as the taste will probably won't wow you, but you'll definitely be better off compared to previous bars.
18. Emco Protein Bar

- Emco Protein Bar.
- Weight: 40g
- Price:
- Where bought: Tesco
- Our rating: 9.2/10
Ingredients
I was honestly getting a bit worried that there were no quality bars in the supermarkets. Emco bars are indeed made up of soya protein, but this isn't that big a problem, apart from having the amino acid tryptophan deficiency. The bar is made up of peanuts, pistachios, chicory root and other healthy ingredients for which we recommend the bar. Just beware, the chocolate version already contains invert sugar syrup, which is not in the pistachio flavor.
How we liked it
Honestly, taste-wise, this is the best healthy bar we've tried. The chocolate flavour is bold and intense, feels natural and seems absolutely brilliant when combined with the nuts. The pistachio variant is also good, but the pistachio overpowers all the other flavours, so the final taste is relatively interesting. But it's natural and doesn't contain too much sugar, so we can only recommend it.
Conclusion
A great-tasting bar that ultimately has a very good composition, apart from minor flies. When you've got a craving or just need a healthy and tasty bar on the go, this is one of the best options the supermarkets have to offer.
19. Bombus Raw Protein

- Name: Bombus Raw Protein
- Weight: 50g
- Price:
- Where bought: Lidl
- Our rating: 9.8/10
Ingredients
In terms of ingredients, Bombus Raw Protein is definitely the best protein bar you'll find in supermarkets. It's made up of just four ingredients - dates, rice protein, peanut butter and salt. This makes it rich in macronutrients as well as minerals, vitamins and trace elements. Clear proof that you can do without palm oil, sugar, glucose-fructose syrup and other ingredients.
How we liked it:
Taste-wise, the bar is bland. I absolutely loved it because the natural flavor is exactly what I look for, however, it definitely may not be to everyone's taste. There are several flavours to choose from, so there really is something for everyone.
Conclusion
The inferior taste, which in this case is offset by the great ingredients, makes this bar the opposite of most of the products mentioned in today's testing. We must definitely appreciate the ingredients, finally we found a bar that does not contain any unnecessary ingredients and comes in handy when you're hungry during a visit to the supermarket.
Well, that's it for our big test of supermarket bars. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments and we'll be happy to answer.
