Within our calorie calculator you can calculate your estimated calorie intake based on 5 basic variables. For the calculation we use the basal metabolic rate, abbreviated as BMR. This refers to a specific number indicating the daily number of calories needed to maintain all of theall important functions of the body under normal conditions and also to maintain current weight. However, in addition to the basal metabolic rate, our calculator also takes into account the amount of activity you do during the week. Once you know your specific caloric intake value, it is your turn to choose the appropriate foods to help you meet this caloriccalorie intake, which our calorie charts can help you achieve with our extensive database of foods and drinks.

What is BMR?

The abbreviation BMR is based on the English Basal Metabolic Rate, which is usually translated into English as Basal Metabolic Rate. It is a number that tells you how many calories per day you need to consume in order tocalories you need to consume to maintain all the basic functions of your body and to maintain your current weight. To find out how many calories you need to take in per day, you need to add how active your lifestyle is to your BMR. This is exactly what our calculator does, although the results should be taken with a grain of salt as we are not able to account for all factors.

Ideal calorie intake

Although our calculator uses a fairly complex equation to calculate BMR, the resulting value is of course only a guideline. If you would like to know the exact values, you would need to have a professional laboratory test that takes into accountthat takes into account a number of other factors that are impossible to take into account in a simple calculator like ours.
