Himalayan pink salt is unrefined. It does not contain any chemicals or additives. It occurs naturally under Pakistan's red-coloured mountains.
Himalayan pink salt comes from Pakistan from the Khewra salt mine in Punjab province. It gets its name from the Himalayas, which are just 200 kilometres from the mine. It is the second largest salt mine in the world and salt has been exported from here to the world since the 16th century.
Our Himalayan salt is unrefined. This means that it has not been treated with chemicals and has retained its natural form. It therefore does not contain preservatives or anti-caking agents like refined salts.
