The fruit of the maccadamia tree, known as macadamia nuts, contains up to 74% fat. Their proteins are complete, although they are low in methionine (which can easily be supplemented by combining with whole grains). Macadamia nuts are one of the richest nuts in oil.
They are a good source of calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin B1, B2 and niacin. They also supply antioxidant polyphenol flavonoids, which protect the human body against the development of arteriosclerosis.
