The glamorous ride in testing whey hydrolysates continues and today I decided to tryhydrolyzed whey isolate from the world famous brand Amix.Yes, it's HydroPure, which I've been hearing a lot of praise for lately. It's a protein that is widely praised and used by leading professional...by top athletes such as Milan Šádek and Dominik Trkan, so I'm more than curious. So I said to myself that I can't leave anything to chance and I have to try the protein for myself to have an objective view of the matter.

Amix is one of the biggest and most popular brands you can find on our market. It is a brand that is known, recognized and widely used throughout Europe. It has deservedly managed to carve out its place among the top ranks, where it has been holding on tooth and nail for the last few years. From my point of view, Amix has started to get worse lately and I'm honestly not sure what to think of it. I hope to have more clarity after reviewing their HydroPure protein, but as far as quality goes, it's not there with Amixm doubts and I know that they use the highest quality ingredients available. But enough of the introductory words, let's get into the review itself.
Ingredients aimed at maximizing anabolism and jumpstarting proteosynthesis
1) It will come as no surprise to you that the main and only protein ingredient found in HydroPure isis whey hydrolyzed isolate, which is even branded as Hydrovon. It is a partially pre-digested protein with a hydrolysis level of DH 8, which I find absolutely idealideal hydrolysis grade because it's basically the perfect intermediate between the classic wheym isolate and between a highly pre-digested hydrolysate with a DH32 grade, which in many cases is consideredis considered to be too rapidly absorbed a protein source (comparable to intravenous administration). Therefore, the DH8 grade is an ideal choice between these two options, offering a synergistic combination of extremely rapidly absorbedThe CFM isolates offer a synergistic combination of highly absorbable protein and health benefits.
2) In the second place, the peptides of the individual amino acids are contained in the product. Specifically, the amino acid peptides L-leucine, L-tryptophan and then separately the BCAA peptides. By adding these amino acids, the manufacturer achieves an immediate boost in anabolism and mTOR after training, becausethese peptides are the first to reach the muscles and are immediately followed by the protein source itself, i.e. Hydrovon protein. It should be added that the amount of added peptides is absolutely adequate, and you will definitely notice the difference in the start of mTOR and proteosynthesis.
3) In the third place, Amix has also incorporated a unique herbal and mineral complex based on minerals such as phosphorus, magnesium, andPotassium and Calcium (these are all minerals we lose during training, so it's great to replenish them). As for the herbal complex, it consists of ingredients like white willow bark extract and fenugreek extract. These herbs have a myriad of positive benefits, but they are included in this protein mainly to ensure maximum absorption and utilization of all the ingredients in the protein. In addition, both of these herbs can have a positive effect on digestion, vitality, fertility, fat burning, muscle gain and much more. Here, in terms of the amount of herbs contained, I don't dare say whether similar benefits will be any noticeable, but it will certainly be noticeable in terms of nutrient utilization.
4) Lastly, the protein also contains added patented, branded Lactospore probiotics. These are included here for better digestion and protein utilization, but personally I rather think it's added mainly for the label and not much benefit will come of it. Still, I appreciate the effort. Of course, there are ingredients such as various stabilizers, thickeners (guar gum), additives, etc.added salt, emulsifier (soya lecithin) or added flavourings, which are not specified in any way. They will therefore undoubtedly be artificial flavourings.
None of these ingredients is unusual or dangerous to the body. In short, they are quite common raw materials used in the food industry and, for example, in the case of guar gum can be beneficial to the body and health (guar gum is a natural fibre that aids digestion).
5) Lastly, we come to the sweeteners used. Here I found a total of three different sweeteners in the ingredients, where they were steviol glycosides, sucralose and acesulfame K. I'm not exactly sure what the sweeteners used are, but if thethe order in which the sweeteners are listed, steviol glycosides appear first. If that's true, that's a huge plus for me, because it's the best natural sweetener that even has the ability to improve the gut microbiome or increase insulin sensitivity. In second place is sucralose, which is also a very high quality sweetener that is used quite commonly. It is found in 90% of other dietary supplements and is completely safe. Acesulfame K is added in the smallest amount, which is also the most controversial, but even here I would not make itbecause there's no way it can affect you in any way in such small amounts.

Nutritional values? It's almost pure protein!
The nutritional values are very surprising. Imagine a whopping 89g of protein per whole 100g of product, when you factor in the addition of peptides in the amount of 2g (these must not be counted in the total amount of protein, because they are not complete) and we get to a beautiful 91g of protein per 100g of product. I confess that I have never seen this amount in any other protein.
In addition to the protein, there is a negligible amount of carbohydrates of 3.5g and a negligible amount of fat of 1.2g. In sum, per 100g of the product contains approximately 380 kcal, which is a pleasant value. At the same time, as is customary, plus points of course go to the manufacturer for the complete disclosure of the amino acid spectrum of proteins.
Taste-wise, the protein was unfortunately disappointing
HydroPure is available in a total of four different flavours and these are chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and peanut butter/cookie.I tried to try more variants for you, but unfortunately I couldn't due to the global price of supplements becoming more expensive. That's why I tried at least the ultimate classic, chocolate, for you.
- Chocolate (6/10) - I have to say that I was slightly disappointed with the flavour. Lately I've been testing proteins that have tasted on a much better, more refined level, so I guess I was expecting more. On the other hand, I can't say that the taste is somehow bad. It is a typical chocolate flavor that is not chemical in any way, but it was oddly and very sweet for me.
After a short time, I will definitely overdrink this flavor and need some changeI don't think this flavor is the best option for a long term fix. As far as chocolate flavors go, it still has a lot of catching up to do.
Superior digestibility, zero foaminess and trouble-free solubility
As always, I followed the manufacturer's instructions for preparation, mixing 33g of protein in 300ml of water. The resulting drink had a rather watery consistency. Don't expect anything creamy as hydrolysed proteins don't have such properties. I was very pleasantly surprised that even after preparation in a shaker, the resulting drink did not foam even in a small amount, dissolved perfectly and was ready for immediate consumption. The digestibility of HydroPure was absolutely unbeatable. I am often sensitive to the digestion of whey protein, but these hydrolyzed ingredientsThese hydrolyzed ingredients are the perfect option for me to get the most out of whey while still maintaining perfect digestion. The addition of Lactospore probiotics also helps to do this, which I commend.
When is the best time to use HydroPure?
Since HydroPure from Amix contains already partially pre-digested protein in the form of hydrolyzed isolate (grade DH8), it is undoubtedly best suited for use immediately after any physical exertion, or at times when your body is most at risk of catabolism. Personally, I have also been very happy to add this protein to my meals classically throughout the day and have been extremely satisfied with it. I found it particularly useful in oat or rice porridges, where it didn't even disturb the beautiful thick texture of the porridge.
The only time I avoided HydroPure was for use at night before bed, where its extremely fast digestibility and absorption would be rather detrimental and I would wake up hungry in the middle of the night. However, if you mix HydroPure with, for example, cottage cheese and a good quality nut butter, this will solve this problem and you will reap its benefits during this period as well.Although for these cases I recommend using micellar casein or multi-ingredient protein.
Definitely the best hydrolysate in terms of price/performance ratio
Nowadays, every protein seems expensive at first glance, doesn't it? We simply have to get used to the new times when we have to pay a lot more for quality. Anyway, believe it or not, the price of HydroPure is not high at all for its proportions. On the contrary, in terms of price/quality/performance ratio, I dare to say that you will not find a better protein on the Czech market. At our partner e-shop bodybuilding.com you can buy the whole pack of 1600g for 1450,- , when the price of one dose comes out to 30,- (if you use a discount code even less). Such a price is already a standard nowadays, and when you add the amount of protein per dose you will find that the price is really low.HydroPure can also be purchased in smaller packs, single-serving 33g sachets, but of course the price is much less. It's maximally great for trying all the flavours on offer.
Final review
So is it worth investing in Amix's HydroPure protein? I don't even have to ponder this question at any length, and I can immediately say yes! When I compare the protein to its competitors in the hydrolysate field, this one really comes out the best of all. Its biggest advantage and the reason why it is so unique is the fact that it contains such a large amount of of protein with added peptides and additives for maximum utilization of all the substances. In my opinion, this protein is one of the most anabolic you can use after a workout. I'm glad Amix has shot up in my eyes with this one because I was slowly starting to lose hope with this brand, but now I can say that if I don't get overwhelmed by the taste of the protein soon (which is unfortunately quite possible) I will include it in my arsenal permanently. My overall feeling about the product is very positive, as you have already seen, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Unfortunately, the taste is a bit worse.
