Today we take a closer look at one of the most interesting multivitamins ever. Animal Pak from Universal Nutrition is far from being a newcomer to the market. Since it first appeared, it has long since gained the favor of many athletes, especially top athletes.
Is it really as high quality as it is said to be, or is it just an inflated bubble? Is it worth investing in?
Content of the review
Animal Pak has long been the overwhelming market leader in multivitamins. But times have moved on and the quality of products from competitors has gone up significantly. That's why you often hear that Animal Pak is no longer worth investing money in and that it is outdated. I didn't give up and had to see for myself. So you can read my personal experiences and insights below.
A unique formula that you just won't find
A quality formula is the foundation of any dietary supplement, and that's why it's given a really high priority. Animal Pak offers up to 55 active ingredients. In addition to vitamins and minerals, in one daily dose you take a total of 8 amino acids (6 of which are essential), a number of adaptogens and digestive enzymes. I personally consider the absence of chelate bonds in minerals to be a minor shortcoming, as they have a much wider range of effects. On the other hand, this is balanced by the extremely high content of these substances.
Another plus is the presence of a wide range of B vitamins, which help the proper functioning of the metabolism. You will also find 64 mg of pepsin, which is responsible for the digestion of proteins, or, for example, 500 mg of shark cartilage, which is extremely beneficial for joint health. An advantage compared to other vitamin supplements is the content of digestive enzymes, such assuch as the Healthy Liver Complex, which further support the overall health of the body.
Animal Pak can be dosed throughout the day
It is the dosage that many people criticise Animal Pak for. And honestly, there is nothing to be surprised about. One dose consists of 11 tablets, which may put some people off. After all, I'm not a big fan of swallowing tablets and capsules myself. But this dosage is why Animal Pak is so effective.
Thanks to the gradual uptake of vitamins and minerals, it runsover the course of the day, the intake of all the substances can be staggered to be as effective as possible. I took the vitamins in the morning with meals, added some digestive enzymes at lunch, and minerals at night before bed. All of this has to be washed down with plenty of water, and it is quite annoying at first. However, after some time I got used to it and it didn't make such a problem.
You'll pay extra for quality
Along with the challenging dosing, the high price is the main reason why Animal Pak didn't rank higher in our rankings. Among vitamins, it ranks among the most expensive. At an average of 19 crowns per dose, it's quite high, especially if you don't enjoyor if you're a student who only plays sports recreationally.
On the other hand, it is fair to say that one dose does indeed cover all the necessary intake of vitamins and minerals. With most of the cheaper options, you will encounter inferior composition or less effectiveness.
Is it really as effective as they say?
I belong to a group of people who are quite sceptical about multivitamin products. In most cases, I don't feel any noticeable difference while taking it. Animal Pak has really surprised me very pleasantly though. I felt perfectly fine during the entire fall flu season and didn't encounter even a brief cold.
Of course, you can not expect the multivitamin to work as some kind of panacea, but it performs the function of prevention very well. My recovery also improved a bit and I felt better overall. Therefore, I can say with a clear conscience that Animal Pak really works and works more than well.
Final summary and my opinion
Now that we've summed up all the essentials, the question that arises is whether Animal Pak is worth buying. The answer is not so simple. If you're a top athlete, don't mind swallowing capsules frequently, and are willing to invest quite a large amount in this supplement, then it's definitely worth it. In terms of effectiveness, it is a real top performer even after all these years. On the other hand, for someone who plays sports only recreationally or for some other reason does not needa supplement of the highest quality, a cheaper option is more worthwhile.
Animal Pak convinced me that it is still a very high quality supplement. However, it does have a few minuses compared to some of the other vitamins on the market. While it has long been a best-in-class supplement, it will undoubtedly remain a favorite among many people, especially those who like the old classics and swallowing capsules.
