Before we get into the evaluation, we need to set the record straight. Chevron Nutrition has only been on the market since last year, but the manufacturer started developing products and testing recipes as early as 2017. For this reason, we will be completely objective in our evaluation and will not take into account the fact that it is a newcomer on the market. In fact, something like this would make no sense at all, because the end customer is interested in the quality of the final product regardless of the circumstances.

Good formulation with a minimum of artificial substances

Chevron Nutrition's protein combines whey concentrate and isolate. This fact only confirms what the manufacturer presents as one of its main advantages - it is for everyone. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an advanced athlete. Chevron makes its products to meet the needs of the widest possible range of athletes. So, in one scoop, there are 22.8 grams of protein, which is quite a decent dose. Of course, the specific composition and proportional representation of each substance varies depending on the flavor. In general, however, we can say that there is nothing to be concerned about in Chevron Nutrition's protein. For example, the red colour of the yoghurt and strawberry flavour is due to beetroot powder and dried strawberry pieces.

A big plus, which we definitely must not overlook, is the presence of the DigeZyme® digestive enzyme blend. This is found, among other things, in the products that topped our ranking of the best digestive enzymes. Therefore, in one dose of protein you get a total of 30 milligrams of amylase, protease, cellulase, lactase and lipase. These are great for digestion and take the whole protein to the next level.

We rate the composition of 100% Whey Protein positively.

Digestibility is second to none

Since protein is found in most athletes' diets on a daily basis, digestibility is really key. Drinking poorly digestible protein day in and day out is the perfect way to give yourself indigestion. Considering how we praised the digestive enzyme content and its benefits for better digestion in the previous paragraph, it's probably a no-brainer to continue the praise now. The DigeZyme®blend really is a guarantee of quality and in this case too, it takes care of trouble-free digestion. I have never had any digestive problems or feeling of heaviness after drinking this protein. Quite the opposite. In this respect, I can only recommend it.

Quite average taste

I must admit that when I was going to review this protein, I had high expectations regarding the taste. After tasting it, however, I was quite disappointed. Don't get me wrong, Chevron is definitely not one of those proteins that you never want to see again after the first taste. In fact, I quite like the yogurt and strawberry flavor. But from a protein that is supposed to beat competing products mainly because of its great taste, I would really expect something more. Chevron won't offend you in this regard compared to other proteins on the market, but it won't particularly impress either.

The yogurt and strawberry flavor didn't impress me much at first. It was quite bland and had a faint artificial aftertaste at the end. However, that was my own fault because I mixed the protein with too much water. In this regard, I definitely recommend following the manufacturer's recommended dosage, which advises mixing one scoop with 250 milliliters of water. Otherwise, you really won't enjoy it very much. On the other hand, with less water, the artificial aftertaste is more apparent. Therefore, you need to find a compromise at which you will enjoy the protein the most. I was also quite excited to see how the dried strawberry pieces would translate into the final flavour. But to be honest, I didn't even notice they were there. So, ultimately, this is no hit parade. Taste-wise, we were not very impressed with this protein.

Seamless solubility

Good solubility is a deciding factor for many people when buying protein. Taking a drink and having a mouthful of lumps or undissolved powder is really not a pleasant experience. Fortunately, this is not the case with Chevron. While it's true that it does foam for a while after shaking, it's nothing serious and it certainly doesn't spoil the taste per se in any way.

Absolutely exorbitant price

Finding a quality protein at a good price can be quite a challenge. And Chevron doesn't make that search much easier, unfortunately. Not because it's not good quality or has the wrong ingredients. The problem is that you'll pay per serving, which is a lot compared to the competition. For example, such Prom-IN CFM Evolution, which we rated as one of the best proteins (if not the best) ever, costs about 17 crowns per scoop. And there are countless similar cases. Chevron's ingredients are commendable, but certainly not enough to make it worth paying that much extra for. Price is the biggest stumbling block in this case, which will make it very difficult for Chevron to compete with other manufacturers.

Is it worth it?

Chevron Nutrition's protein carries with it a number of positives but also negatives and evokes quite mixed feelings in me. The biggest problem is of course the exorbitant price, which exceeds even the best proteins on the market, which definitely puts a lot of people off. While the ingredients deserve praise, it is still nothing groundbreaking. With the exception of the digestive enzyme content, it doesn't really contain anything worthy of any further mention. Taste-wise, we are in the average range, although I admit that this category is quite subjective. Come to think of it, I can't think of any reason why I wouldI would prefer this protein over any of our top protein rankings. Still, there are bound to be people who will like it and appreciate its great digestibility.
