There's no chocolate like chocolate
Chocolate has a lot in common with, for example, coffee, which we cover a lot more often on our website. Among other things, they share the fact that supermarket chocolate can be quite different from the choice chocolate. A big trend lately is the so-called "chocolate". bean to bar chocolates, which means that the manufacturer controls the entire production process from thefrom the cocoa beans to the actual casting of the chocolate. As with coffee, you should know what varieties the chocolate comes from, where it was grown and how it was processed. This is, of course, the case with Chocolate Hill's chocolates, but they take it to the next level in the products they sent us. In fact, their products are completely free of any sugar, which many manufacturers don't offer at all because the taste may not be quite ideal. We therefore had all the more reason to be curious about this company's products.
How does Chocolate Hill chocolate taste?
We were given two products from the sugar-free range to review, namely the 77% sugar-free chocolate and the 77% sugar-free chocolate with coconut. Both of them come from the Criollo and Trinitario bean varieties and in the ingredients you would findc cashew nuts and almonds, which add a pleasantly sweet taste. The sweetener used to sweeten the beans is the natural sweetener erythritol. However, unlike sugar, it has no calories. And that brings us to the taste of the chocolates themselves. The taste is exactly what you would expect from a good dark chocolate. Smooth, balanced and yet without extra sugar.
How is Chocolate Hill priced?
Quality chocolate is of course priced significantly higher than, for exampleFor example, regular supermarket chocolates, which often contain a lot of sugar and very little cocoa. Chocolate Hill sugar-free chocolate therefore starts at 108 crowns for the cheapest variant. However, if you want chocolate with pecans or raspberries, for example, you will have to pay up to 119 crowns. This is quite a lot for a bar of chocolate at first glance, but on the other hand, it should be noted that, as with supplements, it is good to prefer quality over quantity.
Is it worth a try?
Chocolate Hill produces a delicious tasting chocolate that has a great composition and, thanks to the absence of sugar, has also has excellent nutritional value, not just for fitness enthusiasts but for anyone watching their calorie intake. Ultimately, we think it's really worth a try.
