I certainly don't need to introduce the Czech Virus brand to you at any length. It is one of the most popular brands on the Czech market, which among other things sponsors such names as Pavel Beran, Jiří Tkadlčík and Lenka Myslivcová. Besides the famous names, Czech Virus is of course mainly known for the quality and variety of its products. And one of their products is also discussed in detail in this review. It is a supplement Essential Minerals, which contains an interesting combination of vitamins D3 and K2 with minerals magnesium and selenium.

Why are these vitamins and minerals so important for us?
Vitamins and minerals should of course be an integral part of our diet. Unfortunately, even with a really varied and healthy diet, we often fail to take in as much as we should. The most important, but also the most deficient vitamins and mineralsvitamin D and magnesium are generally considered to be the most important minerals and minerals in our bodies.
Magnesium is a mineral involved in more than a hundred different biochemical reactions in our body. In addition, it also helps to relieve stress, improve brain function and even lower blood pressure. In addition, depending on its form, it can either improve the quality of sleep or, on the contrary, stimulate our organism.
As well as magnesium, vitamin D is also indispensable for the proper functioning of our body. It positively influences our immune system, bone and muscle health and, last but not least, our mood or energy. If you would like to know more about all these effects, please readour earlier articles dealing in detail with both vitamin D and magnesium.
Even selenium and vitamin K2 are certainly not vitamins and minerals that should be underestimated. Selenium is an important mineral in terms of our immune system and thyroid function. In addition, it also contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, has a beneficial effect on the condition of the hair and, among other things, on normal spermatogenesis.
As far as vitamin K2 is concerned, it is most often found in supplements alongside vitamin D, as both vitamins act synergistically with each other. One thus supports the effectiveness of the other. The importance of vitamin K2 lies primarily in the fact that, in addition to supporting the immune system and bone health, it also reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and is associated with proper blood clotting.
Interesting composition and pleasant dosage
The manufacturer recommends taking two capsules of Essential Minerals at any time of the day. Personally, I would recommend taking one capsule in the morning on an empty stomach and the other one sometime during the day, after a meal. In such two capsules there is a total of 4600 IU of the most effective form of vitamin D, namely D3. Since the generally recommended daily allowance is anywhere from 400 to 800 IU, and thesometimes more than 2000 IU is recommended, this is a very high amount of vitamin D.
In addition, we also find 50 mcg of vitamin K2, in the form of MK-7, which is the most effective and bioactive form for us. However, the recommended daily dose of vitamin K2 is between 150 and 200 mcg. Its content in two capsules is thus significantly underestimated compared to vitamin D. However, it should be borne in mind that it is contained here primarily to support the effects of vitamin D, with which it acts synergistically.
As far as magnesium is concerned, 250 mg of magnesium can be found in one recommended dose, in the form of citrate. This generally has a 15 % elemental magnesium content, with an absorption rate of up to 90 %. Thus, approximately 37 mg of elemental magnesium could be found in one such dose. However, the recommended daily intake is 300 to 400 mg. Even in the case of magnesium, this is clearly not a particularly high level.
Lastly, selenium, 55 mcg of sodium selenite to be precise, can also be found in two Essential Minerals capsules. This is an inorganic form of selenium, which is not as efficiently absorbed in our body as the organic form. In general, the recommended daily intake of selenium is around 55 mcg. In this respect, its content in two capsules seems to be sufficient.
Pack size and price
A pack containing 60 capsules is currently available for . This means that one dose of two capsules will cost you about . The price is basically the same as the very popular Nexgen from Reflex. Considering the amount of active ingredients in both supplements, the price of Essential Minerals might seem a bit steep at first glance. However, it should be kept in mind that Essential Minerals is not intended to act as a replacement for classic multivitamins, butbut rather as a supplement that means you never have to buy vitamin D and magnesium separately. And in this respect, it comes at a very reasonable price.
Final verdict
Essential Minerals is ultimately a good supplement with a unique composition, which you can also get at a relatively reasonable price. If you do not want to buy magnesium and vitamin D separately, Essential Minerals is undoubtedly exactly what you are looking for.
However, it is important to keep in mind that you won't find nearly as much magnesium in it as you would with supplements containing magnesium alone. However, it is still magnesium in a high quality citrate form. Compared to a number of other supplements, this is still a very high quality formulation in which quality wins over quantity. As I mentioned above, if you don't want to spend too much money on vitamins and mineralsof money, Essential Minerals is a great choice for supplementing much needed magnesium and vitamin D.
However, in case you don't mind paying a little extra for your supplements, I would still recommend buying magnesium and vitamin D separately. Supplements containing only one of these indispensable vitamins and minerals in most cases contain a much higher proportion of these substances, which are deficient in our organism.
