Czech Virus MPS-5 Pro - The absolute top in the multi-ingredient protein category? (Review)

Although lately I've been receiving a plethora of supplements from a variety of categories to review, Czech Virus products are something I really like to test and I look forward to new supplements with great anticipation. This time I had the opportunity to try the new multi-ingredient protein MPS-5 PRO.

And right off the bat, I'll admit that I'm a big fan of multi-ingredient supplements.I'm very skeptical of most of them because manufacturers usually use the cheapest ingredients available. Was that the case this time as well? Is it worth investing in it? Did I like the flavors? That's what you'll find out in today's review.

For completeness, it perhaps only remains to add that I tried the protein in both available flavours, both vanilla ice cream and chocolate praline. I am therefore comparing the supplement not only with the competition, but also with each other between the variants.

Why use multiple protein sources when we all know the best one?

Whenever a novice athlete asks me what protein I would recommend, I always reply that more or less any CFM protein is a good choice. I don't think it's ever happened that I've recommended a multi-ingredient protein to someone. Why? Because it is quite difficult to explain to beginners that a multi-ingredient protein is a good choice, but it must not contain ingredients like caseinate of limefoamed, sodium caseinate and I don't recommend vegetable proteins very often either (unless of course the athlete in question is a vegetarian, then they are spot on).

Conversely, finding a suitable multi-ingredient supplement is a real nut to crack. I mean, it was. This new product from Czech Virus is exactly what I was looking for all along. Just look at the ingredients:

  • 43% CFM whey concentrate - Concentrate is the ideal product from my point of view. Thanks to the gentle production method, all important bioactive fractions are preserved, the protein is rich in amino acids, has very good utilization and high biological value.
  • 38% native milk protein - In this case, the native milk protein is protein is the source of micellar casein, a protein that is released into the body over several hours. Although it is particularly suitable for bedtime, many studies clearly show that itsThe slower release of amino acids, combined with the faster release of whey protein, also has its merits after training. Foreign manufacturers take advantage of this, but in our country Czech Virus was one of the first manufacturers.
  • 9% CFM whey isolate - Whey isolate is a protein that has faster absorption and above all complete purity. Isolates contain only the absolute minimum of carbohydrates and fats and are even very often suitable for lactose intolerant people.
  • 5% whey hydrolysate - Whey hydrolysate is generally considered to be one of the most rapidly utilized protein sources. It is mainly represented in MPS-5 due to its ability to stimulate protein digestion.
  • 5% Egg Albumin - Egg albumin is somewhere between whey concentrate and micellar casein in terms of speed of utilization. It is a very pure product that has a good amino spectrum and a high biological value, being free of fat, cholesterol and lactose.

Other ingredients worth mentioning include digestive enzymes - namely Tolerase (acid lactase), papain and bromelain, which together help to maximise the digestion of the supplement. Flavourings, salt, sucralose, xanthan gum and, depending on the flavouring, other ingredients used to sweeten and flavour the supplement.White chocolate powder or defatted cocoa powder.

You'll love the genius taste of chocolate and vanilla!

If you're even a little bit familiar with protein supplements, you've probably noticed that Czech Virus definitely can't hold a candle to the competition when it comes to the number of flavours. It usually relies on 2 to 3 flavours, whereas other manufacturers often have up to 12 different variants. But I've never had anything from this popular Czech company that I didn't like.

Some flavours are of course better (for example chocolate I loved the Hydro Optimal Whey), some are worse, but none are a step off. And so it was this time as well:

  • Chocolate Praline (9.5/10) - To be honest, I didn't quite understand the sudden resurgence of creativity from manufacturers with the flavor names. It is impossible to say that the protein resembles praline. But one of the best chocolate flavors I've tried, it definitely is. Probably due to the micellar casein content, it is a rather dense product with an intense, but definitely not aggressive or over-sweetened taste. If, like me, you're a fan of chocolate milkshakes, you'll be in seventh heaven with this flavour. I rate it 9.5 out of 10.
  • Vanilla Ice Cream (9.5/10) - Again, I'll start by saying that while I was very intrigued by this flavor, I didn't find a single commonality with vanilla ice cream. And that I have tried vanilla ice creams galore. But otherwise, my rating is very positive. Again, I must praise the thicker consistency, the protein is definitely pleasant to drink. Also thanks to the white chocolate powder the protein feels completely natural, you don't feel any unnecessary chemistry from it. I also rate it 9.5 points out of 10.
  • The Almond Orange variant (9.5/10) is a really unusual protein, the taste of which is rather hard to describe, because you probably won't find a similar protein on the market. The combination of almonds and orange seemingly resembles marzipan in smell, but when you prepare the protein, the orange flavour definitely prevails. You can only notice the almonds in the background, but together the combination is delicious. While I'm not usually thrilled with fruity flavors in proteins, Czech Virus is an exception that I would happily order again. I rate it 9.5 points out of 10.

If you're looking for a protein with a top-notch formula and unbeatable taste, MPS-5 is a clear choice that won't disappoint.

Surprisingly good value for money

If you're a regular reader of our reviews, you' ll know that we often fault Czech Virus products for their relatively high price. While I defend it by saying that quality obviously costs something, I also understand that not everyone can afford to pay more for accessories than is really necessary. And here we come to the heart of the matter. When we recently tested Maniac Whey from Obstinated, I praised the fact that a single dose comes out to some . And I still stand by the fact that for recreational exercisers who want a basic protein with good taste, this is a very suitable choice.

A dose of MPS-5 will set you back more, but again you have to compare price with quality. This is no ordinary protein, the digestive enzyme content alone puts the whole blend in a completely different (not only price) category. Also, you will not find any extremely cheap raw material on which the manufacturer would save. From my point of view, it is therefore necessary to clearly define the goal. Do I want an ordinary protein that will just replenish my protein after a workout? A cheaper option will suffice. Do I want the best I can give my body? Then MPS-5 is the obvious choice.

TIP: MPS-5 Pro is the winner of our multi-ingredient protein ranking!

Completely hassle-free preparation

Hassle-free preparation is certainly not always a given, and I can probably agree with all of you that if a protein is not easy to prepare, it's not always easy to prepare.that you have to wait a few minutes for the foam to subside and then you still find lumps in it, it can get pretty annoying. But nothing like that will happen to you with the MPS-5. I mixed the protein in 300ml of water according to the manufacturer's recommendation and I have to say that it was enoughshake a few times and the protein was perfectly dissolved without any significant foam. Thanks to this I could take it to school, to the gym and anywhere with me.

The preparation of MPS-5 is really hassle-free. Just shake the protein a few times in a shaker of water and you're done. It doesn't foam, doesn't form lumps and has a delicious creamy taste.

Final evaluation

MPS-5 is a protein that is definitely worth trying. I admit it is not the cheapest, but it is a novelty that has something to offer even advanced athletes. Digestive enzymes, premium protein sources that spark amino acid release for a really long time, great taste and easy preparation. In my opinion, these are the 4 most important reasons why you should give MPS-5 a try.
