Energy drinks are evil. I've always said that, and my opinion probably won't change just yet. And if he'd only said I even wrote an entire article on the subject, which we then placed in the "Fitness Vices" section. However, while I was recently wading through the world of social media, I came across a sort of natural energy drink that really caught my eye.
As you probably guessed correctly after reading the title of this article, it was Erebos, an all-natural product with no dyes or preservatives, but with extracts from 19 different natural herbs. Was it really as good as they say? Was it worth investing in? Did I feel any positive change? You can find out all this and much more in the following review.
Content of the review
For completeness, the only thing left to add is that in order not to evaluate only one variant of Erebos, I tried three of them- the original, spicy and bitter (with hops). But now to the review itself.
A composition that is absolutely second to none
As I'm sure you can understand, the most important reason why Erebos is worth investing in is its top-notch composition. You'll find in it extracts from 19 different herbs, the most prominent of which are:
- Ginseng, which is known for its beneficial effects on the dreamsthanks to its content of adaptogenic ginsenosides, it can be used inIt also contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, A, zinc, a large number of phenolics, alkaloids and polypeptides
- guarana, which is known for its stimulating effects, its ability to improve mood, delay hunger, prevent the development of depression and stimulate brain activity.
- Anchovy, which has the ability to increase testosterone levels in men while increasing estrogen levels in women. But it has far more effects, being anti-inflammatory, it can stimulate the body as well as improve overall mental and physical vitality.
- Turmeric, which can lower cholesterol, remove oxygen free radicals from the body, protect cells fromThe enzyme leptin, which signals satiety to the central nervous system, is responsible for this.
- Ginkgo biloba, which is a great source of natural vitamin C, contains high levels of terpenes, flavonoids and other active substances. It is also widely used for its ability to improve memory and concentration.
And of course, our list could go on and on, as ginger, yerba, kola and other plants are also brimming with positive effects. But that would be taking up too much space in the article for the other aspects we focused on in our review. So if you're interested in the ingredients in more detail, be sure to check out the manufacturer's website.
A taste that refreshes not only on hot summer days
When I'm not training for a race, I enjoy a beer from time to time. I like its typical bitterness and as long as it doesn't interfere with my performance in training, I always find it a better choice than, say, Coca Cola and similar chemical cocktails. But when I'm training for a race, alcohol is out of the question. And since I hate the aforementioned over-sweetened beverages with all my heart, I would need a nice substitute. And that's exactly what I found in Erebos. As I mentioned in the introduction, I have tried three different variants and my more detailed evaluation looks like this:
- I foundErebos original to be a happy medium, its flavour was perfectly pleasant, despite the use of a combination of honey and cane.It was not overly sweet, it was refreshing and I felt absolutely fabulous after drinking it. That's why I rate it 9.5 out of 10.
- Erebos bitter uses hops instead of honey, which of course shows in the taste. I found this version of the drink even more refreshing, even more mysweet and, as the name suggests, pleasantly bitter. Since I absolutely love bitter drinks, I have nothing to fault Erebos bitter. On the other hand, if you don't like hoppy things, I'd probably prefer to go with the original Erebos. But I also rate it 10 out of 10.
- Erebos spicy contains an infusion of 19 herbs in addition to an infusion of some spices, specifically cloves, anise and cinnamon. According to some websites, this trio is one of the great spices that will make you especially in the winter can warm you up and support the proper functioning of your immune system. And last but not least, they give Erebos a great taste. I do not dare to compare it to anything familiar, because the taste of this drink is very specific, nothingbut once again it met my expectations, not sweet, refreshing and this time warming. And since I tested this drink in winter, I have nothing to complain about it again and I rate it 10 out of 10.
Have I noticed any positive effect on myself?
I have always used Erebos before training as a replacement for a pre-workout (at the time I was using Nitrox pump, one of the TOP supplementof our comparison of the best pre-workouts) and I must say that it was a perfectly satisfactory alternative. Thanks to the relatively high caffeine content (106mg/bottle) I felt a pleasant stimulation, good concentration and even fatigue suppression during the workout.
Of course, you can't expect extreme pumping or other effects of strong pre-workouts, but given that this is a nopurely natural product, it met my expectations 1000% and at the first opportunity to buy another one I will definitely do it.
The price is appropriate but still high
There's no point in kidding yourself that the price for Erebos is somehow low. If you decide to invest in a pack of 6 (the smallest possible), one drink will set you back . As scary as that may seem, it's important to remember what the price of a classicenergy drinks, what the cost of producing this product is and much more. Personally, I would rather drink Erebos every once in a while than some energy drink with a ton of glucose-fructose syrup, preservatives, flavourings and other low quality and unhealthy ingredients.
Final evaluation
An ideal product that is definitely unrivalled on the market today and, from my point of view, a great alternative for allall of you who need to get rid of the addiction to energy drinks and pre-workout stimulants. It is refreshing, the composition is flawless and most importantly, it really works. But as it happens with such products, you have to accept a somewhat higher price.
In short, if you're willing to pay properly for the quality, you definitely need to give Erebos a try.
