Ketomix Review: we tried the premium weekly ketodiet package!

It's no news that in the editorial office of MyFitnessio we regularly prepare a large number of reviews on individual dietary supplements in order to make it easier for you to choose them, to point out some unsuitable products and, on the contrary, to recommend the really good ones. But today's review will be a bit different. We will not focus on just one product, but we will look at the whole diet package from the KetoMix brand. Specifically, this is the Premium Weekly Keto Diet Package. First, we'll discuss the basic specifics of this diet plan and then we'll take a detailed look at the individual meals and their ingredients.

If you've ever heard of the keto diet, you're probably no stranger to the KetoMix brand. In fact, it focuses on selling diet packs containing meals designed specifically for the keto diet. The KetoMix brand has topped the charts in our big comparisonof the best keto diets, from which we've already tested the KetoDiet Intense [review]. In addition to the weekly diet plan, KetoMix offers a number of other packages, so there really is something for everyone.

What do you find in the premium weekly package from KetoMix?

The entire package contains a total of 35 servings, which is equivalent to five servings per day. The individual meals can be used as a supplement to a normal varied diet or as part of a keto diet that you supplement with your own food. The manufacturer recommends using only the meals from the pack for the entire week, but this is definitely not a requirement. Since a total of 15 servings make up a protein shake, most people probably wouldn't be satisfied with such a system anyway. So what meals can you look forward to?

Protein shake with flavour (15 servings)

A protein shake forms the basis of the weekly package. You will also get a separately packaged chocolate flavoured flavouring powder with it. In addition to flavouring the shake, you can also use this as a flavouring for other meals.

Ingredients

The protein shake contains mainly whey protein isolate and soy protein isolate. It also contains oat fibre, milk powder, corn fibre, rapeseed oil and a mixture of vitamins and minerals. The presence of a wide range of vitamins and minerals is to be appreciated, althoughalthough in most cases there are no excessively large doses. On the other hand, the rapeseed oil content makes them seem rather strange and unnecessary. One serving of the shake (30 grams of powder) contains about 16 grams of protein, which is not the most, and 3.3 grams of carbohydrates. In this regard, it seems to be a more nutritionally sound option to try one of the bestwhey isolates, which contain more protein and fewer carbohydrates.

As for the flavour, it contains more than half defatted cocoa, chicory and corn fibre, the sweetener sucralose and an anti-caking agent. There is therefore nothing to criticise in this respect. In addition, 1.5 g of this mixture is enough to flavour the shake, which ultimately adds almost no extra calories.

Preparation

It is not difficult to prepare a protein shake. All you need is 250 ml of water, 30 g of the mixture and 1.5-3 g of flavouring. Mix everything in the shaker included in the package and you'll have your shake ready in seconds.

Taste

The protein itself is quite bland and if you have ever drunk unflavoured protein from anotherbrands, you probably won't notice any significant taste difference. With the addition of the non-fat cocoa flavour, you get a fairly good chocolate protein that doesn't fall far short of the standard.

Soups (3 servings)

The premium weekly keto pack contains a total of 3 soups, each corresponding to one serving. These are soups with chicken, vegetable and mushroom flavours.

Ingredients

The base of all the chicken and mushroom flavoured soups is made up of milk and soya protein (no further specifications), while the vegetable flavoured soup contains mainly soy and whey protein (again without further details). In addition, the soups contain sunflower oil, flavouring, the vegetable soup contains a special seasoning blend and all threeThe three soups, like the protein shake, contain quite a lot of minerals and vitamins, which we have to praise again.

Preparation

Mix the entire contents of the sachet (25 g) in 180 to 200 ml of hot water (around 80℃) and let stand for 3 minutes. Personally, for example in the case of chicken soup, I had problems with lumps forming in it. In this case, I recommend adding a little more water and stirring the soup again thoroughly.

Taste

In terms of taste, we have to mention that we were quite surprised. Initially we did not have any excessive expectations from the soups, because especiallyFor example, the chicken soup did not inspire any enthusiasm in us. In the end, however, we were surprised, because although it is not an honest home-made broth, in factit's actually a pretty good and nutritious soup that you can eat without any problems.

Omelette with vegetable flavour (1 portion)

A protein omelette with vegetable flavour serves as a simple breakfast or light snack. Although there's only one serving in the packet, it's guaranteed to help liven up your diet.

Ingredients

The protein omelette consists of soya isolate, dried egg white and wheat.egg white, vegetable seasoning, whey concentrate and milk powder. In addition to thickeners and anti-caking agents, there is a combination of vitamins and minerals, as with the other meals in the pack. One omelette (25 g) contains 14,5 g protein (i.e. 58 g protein per 100 g), 1,5 g carbohydrate and 2,25 g fat. Compared to a regular omelette, therefore, it contains significantly more protein and significantly less fat in the same quantity, which is a definite plus. However, it is fair to say that it also contains more carbohydrates, which is not entirely desirable in the keto diet.

Preparation

The protein omelette is really easy to prepare. Just mix the contents of the bag in 75 ml of water and pour it into a hot pan with a drizzle of oil. In a few minutes you have an omelette on your plate without any major effort. Moreover, the mixture doesn't stick to the pan at all, so you don't have to worry about it burning.

Taste

I was really pleasantly surprised by the aroma of the omelette, which is mainly due to the vegetable seasoning. The flavour itself is not as pronounced, but it certainly doesn't offend. The consistency of the omelette is quite different from the egg omelette, but that's to be expected given the preparation method. Personally, I would have preferred a normal egg omelette, but if you're not in a hurry and need toyou need a quick and easy meal with plenty of protein, I can highly recommend it.

Protein pancake (1 serving)

Similar to a vegetable omelette, a protein pancake can serve as a quick and easy breakfast or snack during the day. Plus, you can flavour it with nut cream or chicory syrup for a healthy and nutritious treat.

Ingredients

The protein source in the protein pancake is mainly soy isolate and whey concentrate. The wide range of vitamins and minerals must again be regarded very positively, as there are certainly not that many in a typical pancake. Compared to a typical pancake, it contains slightly more fat, but at the same time much less carbohydrate and much more protein.

Preparation

The preparation of a protein pancake is the same as for a vegetable omelette, except that the mixture needs to be mixed in 100 ml of water. The whole preparation therefore takes no more than a few minutes.

Taste

Given the low carbohydrate content, it is no surprise that theThe taste of the pancake is not very sweet, as is usually the case with conventional pancakes. But there's nothing to stop you from flavouring it to your taste. But make sure you only use ingredients suitable for the keto diet.

Chicken on spinach puree (1 serving)

Chunks of chicken in spinach puree are the only finished dish you'll find in the pack. This is not a mix or instant version of any dish, but a perfectly normal meal. Therefore, within the premium weekly package, this is a rather rare and howling change compared to the other dishes.

Ingredients

Almost half of the contents of the pack (48%) are spinach leaves and the other 40% is chicken breast meat. In addition, the dish also contains cream, onions, skimmed milk, garlic, broth and salt. A serving of 250 g contains 28 g of protein, 5,3 g of carbohydrates and 5,3 g of fat. This is equivalent to a normal meal, however, if you were to prepare a similar dish at home, you would probably you would add more meat to the spinach, which would have a positive effect on the protein content.

Preparation

You can prepare chicken with spinach puree in a total of three ways. The first is simply heating it in the microwave, which will take about 2-3 minutes. It will take the same amount of time to reheat in a pan, which is the second method recommended by the manufacturer. The last option is to reheat the meat, still sealed in its original packaging, in boiling water, which should take about 7 minutes.

Protein puree (2 servings)

A very practical part of the weekly keto pack is the protein puree. This even comes in two flavours - lime flavoured and raspberry and cocoa flavoured. One pack contains 100 grams and is suitable for travel or as a quick snack at any time of the day.

Ingredients

The base of the protein puree consists of water and a protein mix. Specifically, it is whey isolate and hydrolysed bovine collagen. Lime/raspberry juice and natural lime/raspberry and cocoa flavouring also form a significant part of the composition. Depending on the flavour, one serving contains 15 g of protein, about 3 g of carbohydrates and less than 4 g of fat.

Preparation

The protein puree comes in a convenient package from which it can be consumed straight away.

Taste

For both flavours, I was quite surprised at how sour the puree was. With the raspberry and cocoa flavour, this problem was not as pronounced, but in the case of the lime flavour, I wasn't too impressed in this regard. What I have to appreciate, on the other hand, is the perfect consistency of both flavours, which is very much like cottage cheese (especially if you leave it in the fridge for a while beforehand). Ultimately, this is a very hilarious snack that can be enjoyed pretty much anytime, anywhere.

Protein bread (3 servings)

The great advantage of protein bread is its versatility. You can supplement it with basically anything that fits into the keto diet. Compared to most of the meals in the package, the manufacturer gives you quite a bit of freedom in how the final meal will look on the plate.

Ingredients

The base of KetoMix's protein bread is a baking mix consisting ofconsisting of wheat gluten, soya meal, brown and yellow flax, sunflower seeds, and a blend of wheat gluten, soya bean meal, flax meal, sunflower seeds.wheat bran, wholemeal wheat flour, soya flour, apple fibre, edible salt, roasted malted barley flour and sesame. However, the flour also includes water, sesame, baker's yeast and added fibre. Compared to conventional bread, it contains many times more protein (29 g per 100 g) and fewer carbohydrates (only 9,5 g per 100 g).

Preparation

One serving is two slices of bread. However, how you prepare them is up to you. However, we recommend using only foods suitable for the keto diet.

Taste

Flavour-wise, you will hardly notice any difference with protein bread compared to conventional bread.

Protein chips (4 servings)

If you like to munch, you will definitely appreciate the presence of up to 4 servings of protein chips in the package. The chips have a BBQ flavour, so their taste will quickly liven up your diet.

Ingredients

Almost two thirds of the composition (exactly 64%) is soy protein concentrate. The ingredients also include tapioca starch, sunflower oil, soya fibre, salt, maltodextrin, sugar, spicesherbs and aromatic herbs, natural flavouring, dried tomato powder and some other flavourings. One serving of 30 g of chips contains 13,5 g of protein, 4,7 g of carbohydrates and 3,9 g of fat, which is absolutely incomparable to the nutritional value of beetrootwhich contain significantly more carbohydrate and fat and almost no protein.

Preparation

There is no need to prepare the chips, just open the package and enjoy them immediately.

Taste

The protein chips tasted really good. We have to appreciate the fact that,again, the taste is similar to various salty products from supermarkets, although they have much better nutritional profile and when you are on a diet, they definitely come in handy.

Dried meat (1 serving)

Meat lovers will appreciate that the weekly package also includes turkey teriyaki. One serving is 25 g of dried meat. A nice detail is the fact that the manufacturer has included a toothpick with the meat, which can come in handy after consumption.

Ingredients

In this respect, the dried meat from KetoMix is no different from most competing products. The turkey is coated in a teriyaki marinade and soy sauce, while dried ginger has also been used for flavouring. One serving therefore contains 17,5 g protein, 1,3 g carbohydrate and 0,3 g fat.

Taste

As far as dried meat is concerned, I am personally more of a beef fan. Still, I have to admit that KetoMix's teriyaki doesn't taste bad at all. The flavour of the marinade is not overdone and the meat tastes very natural. Compared to the aforementioned beef, the turkey jerky is a bit more "rubbery", but that doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. In the end, therefore, I have to rate it positively.

Protein croissant (1 serving)

The protein croissant is also a nice addition to the menu. You can flavour it to your liking or just enjoy it on its own. It is perfect for a light breakfast or a quick snack.

Ingredients

The basic ingredients of the protein croissant are wheat protein, water, butter and wheat fibre, but the ingredients areShea butter, sunflower oil, pea protein and other ingredients are also part of the ingredients. One croissant (50 g) contains a total of 13 g protein, 4,5 g carbohydrate and 12 g fat. Compared to a regular croissant, there is considerably more protein and less carbohydrate.

Preparation

How you prepare the croissant is entirely up to you. However, remember to avoid ingredients with a high carbohydrate content.

Taste

Just like the protein bread mentioned earlier, the croissant is not very flavourful different from regular bread, and therefore makes for a great and nutritionally sound snack.

Protein bars (3 servings)

What would a food pack be if it didn't contain some protein bars. This weekly pack from KetoMix contains 3 and each one has a different flavour. You can look forward to a chocolate, milk chocolate almond and peanut flavoured bar.

Ingredients

The composition of each bar varies quite a bit, however, all three contain whey protein as the main source of protein. A wide range of vitamins and minerals can also be found in all three. The other ingredients depend on which flavour it is. The peanut flavour bar boasts the best nutritional value, with 14 g of white protein per 40 grams.g of protein, 2.9 g of carbohydrates and 7.2 g of fat, which are comparable to some of the bars on our list of the best protein bars.

Can I combine the pack with other meals?

The package is designed by the manufacturer to contain 5 meals for a period of 7 days. It is of course up to you how you divide the meals during this period and whether you use the individual courses in the packor if you want to eat strictly only the meals in the package. Personally, I lean more towards the first option, where the individual meals work more as a supplement to a varied diet. A huge advantage of this package is the very quick and easy preparation of the meals, which you will appreciate especially if you don't have much time to cook during the day.

Of course, you can combine the individual KetoMix meals with any foods that fit into the keto diet. We've already covered this topic in our comparison of the best keto diets, which I'll link to again. From this particular package, it is advisable to combine with something especially protein bread or chicken with spinach, but there's no limit to your imagination, so you can customize pretty much every meal. Ideally, supplement them with at least fresh vegetables.

Don't be fooled by the high price

At first glance, the price for a one-week package may seem quite high. However, considering that it contains 35 separate courses, this price is perfectly fine. Compared to competing manufacturers of similar diet packages, it is even one of the best value for money. However, the claim of 35 courses should be taken with a grain of salt, as the entire 15 portions of theThis is a protein shake, which for most people will probably not be the equivalent of one normal meal. Still, the quantity and quality of the food included is enough to make the final price more than acceptable.

Final evaluation

So what is our final verdict? Is KetoMix's premium weekly ketodiet package something worth investing in? If you're looking for a package full of simple and nutritionally rich meals that will fit into your diet, this is definitely one of the best options on the market. If you want to lose weight but don't know how to cook, this package can help you achieve a nutritionally balanced diet. It must be said, however, that if your goal is a strict keto diet, in which your daily carbohydrate intake should be under 5 grams, then you'll need to be careful with this pack for your weight.s, some of the meals in the package won't be ideal for your weight, as they contain too much carbohydrate for a strict keto diet. Still, the pack contains a high amount of protein and, compared to a regularwhich you'll appreciate during weight loss.
