LSP Goat Whey - Finally, a protein for really demanding athletes! (Review)

Nowadays, when whey proteins are facing more and more popularity, it's extremely challenging to choose just one product to call the best. But 99.9% of such proteins are made from cow whey. And that's why I didn't hesitate for a moment when I got the opportunity to try a goat whey protein that is considered to be a far better and more bioavailable protein than cow whey protein.

But was the protein really that good? Is the composition competitive or even better than the other proteins I tried? Is the taste too bad? Find out the answers to these and many other questions about this protein in today's review.

As a quick introduction, it is worth mentioning that I chose this protein mainly because of its unbeatableamino acid spectrum and six different flavours, from which everyone can choose. But more on that in a moment.

Video review of goat protein:

The ingredients are, in short, unbeatable

Ingredients are undoubtedly the most important aspect of any product. And that is what makes Goat Whey stand out. In order to understand why, from my point of view, goat whey protein is a far better choice, we should take a closer look at its importance:

Goat's milk is very similar to breast milk.

Goat's milk is one of the most important sources of beta-casein, which it contains at the expense of the alpha1-casein typically found in cow's milk. This protein also makes the structure of the milk itself different - the fatty particlesThe fat particles are dispersed in the form of small globules, which is identical to that of breast milk. In addition, it contains oligosaccharides similar to those in breast milk, so that the protein from goat whey supports the spIt supports the proper functioning of the intestinal microflora and improves digestion and mineral absorption.

Goat protein vs. cow protein
Compared to cow's whey protein, LSP Goat Whey wins by a landslide.

It is a rich source of vitamins and minerals

Goat whey protein is not far behind when it comes to micronutrient content either. According to expert websites, it even contains more calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin C and vitamin A than cow's milk. Other substances worth mentioning include manganese, titanium, chromium and cobalt.

It is completely pure

The fact that cow's milk is a highly controversial food does not need to be discussed for too long. Thanks to considerable modernisation, cows are often milked under stress, which, according to some theories is reflected in the secretion of stress hormones into the milk. Either way, the fact remains that most adult humans find cow's milk very difficult to digest. However, Goat Whey is completely free of cow's milk and yet retains its rapid availability and high bioavailability. In addition, it does not contain the controversial aspartame.

The perfect spectrum of amino acids

If you compare the amino acid profile of this product with, for example, one of our best protein rankingHigh Whey 80 from Extrifit, you'll find that Goat Whey comes out much better. For example, it contains 3g more glutamine, in the case of BCAAs it's almost 6g more and we could go on. So if you want a protein with the best representation of amino acids, goat whey protein is the way to go.

Goat protein amino spectrum
Although the amino acid spectrum is often overlooked when choosing the right protein, it is a very important aspect.

Unusual but good taste

If you've ever tasted goat's milk, it's probably obvious to you that its taste is quite specific. However, I originally expected it to be much more pronounced in the case of Goat Whey. As I mentioned in the introduction, this protein comes in six different flavors chocolate, strawberry, cookies and cream, vanilla, banana, and natural. I personally tried the last two mentioned variants and here is my review:

  • The banana flavour (9.5/10) is from my point of view really famous. The specific taste is not very noticeable, although you can obviously tell at the end that it is not a classic cow whey protein. The banana, however, looks completely natural, it is not artificial and it is not asweetened chemical substitute, as some competing manufacturers tend to do. From my point of view, this flavour deserves 9.5 out of 10.
  • The unflavoured version (8/10) is of course much more specific than the flavoured version. From my point of view, it is absolutely ideal in the creation of various fitness desserts, where the flavour of a large and if you add it to, for example, fitness pancakes, you won't notice anything at all. I don't recommend it for drinking alone though. I therefore give it 8 out of 10.

When and how to use it?

Taking goat whey protein is not much different from other protein products. I personally took 30g after a workout or if I couldn't manage to eat a solid meal. The required amount of Goat Whey just needs to be poured into a shaker with 250-400ml of water and stirred.

Goat protein dosage
Taking Goat Whey is in no way different from taking classic cow whey protein.

The price unfortunately corresponds to the high quality

Of course, it is perfectly logical that for such a high-end product, the price will be higher than what competing proteins are sold for. While for 2500g of Goat Whey you will pay about , such Prom-IN CFM Evolution, which we also wrote about here a separate review, costs about half that. So if you are a student and can't afford to invest too much money in supplements, forget about goat whey protein.
