Do blue light glasses work?
Although you may have already come across anti-blue light glasses in our glasses comparison or in our BrainMarket product review , it's useful to start with a bit of scientifically backed theory. Although blue light goggles are often referred to as an absolute miracle that will make your eyes not hurt so much even whenand, as an added bonus, makes you sleep better at night, scientific studies are far from unanimous. Of course, on the one hand, there are studies that argue for less eye fatigue whenusing glasses, but on the other hand, there are also a number of studies that contradict it. We therefore recommend taking information about the miraculous effects of these glasses with a grain of salt and focusing more on your own experience. And that brings us to ours.
Our first impression of the Lentiamo Tomas Deep Black glasses
Since no one in our editorial office wears dioptric glasses, we are somewhat immaculate in our choice of suitable glassesand so far we have been using glasses from BrainMarket, about which we have written in detail in the aforementioned separate review. We were even more surprised by the construction of the glasses, which despite being plastic, it feels a bit more solid and solid than the glasses we have been using so far. The Tomas Deep Black, which we chose for our review, are unisex and have a UV filter, which also comes in handy. The glasses themselves also come with a cleaning cloth and the originalThe glasses come with a genuine case that makes them practical to pack for work or anywhere you go.
How were the glasses when worn?
When worn, we have to especially appreciate that the glasses were comfortable even in situations where they were put on the face all day at work. While the design looks massive, the glasses are lightweight and comfortable. Due to the convenient dimensions, they did not press on the nose or ears, and therefore it was easy to get used to them and stop registering them completely. At the same time, on the practical side, we must also appreciate the hydrophobic and anti-static treatment, thanks to which you can treat the glasses even slightly carelessly (e.g. touch them with your fingers from time to time) and they remain clean, which was definitely not the case with the aforementioned glasses from BrainMarket. As far as the effect of the glasses themselves is concerned, we find it rather difficult to assess the fact that we are already accustomed to using this anti-blue light product. Nevertheless, we found them comfortable and our eyes did not hurt when wearing them even after a day's work, which and we therefore rate Tomas Deep Black very positively.
Do they have any drawbacks?
If we are to evaluate the Lentiamo Tomas Deep Black glasses as a whole, they are excellent glasses that all people working with computers should think about buying. However, we did find two things that might slightly discourage detailers from buying the product. The first is that the manufacturer's website doesn't state at all how much blue light the glasses can block. Since they're transparent, they can't be expected to block completely all blue light like, say, BrainMarket's orange glasses. However, you won't be able to tell from the website whether Tomas Deep Black can prevent 5, 20 or 50% of blue light from penetrating, which we think is a shame. And the other flaw for some may be the price, which is what we're getting at here.
What do we say about the price?
The Lentiamo Tomas Deep Black goggles will set you back 1,290 crowns on the retailer's official website, which is frankly quite a bit moremore than some of the cheaper models in our comparison of the best blue light goggles. On the other hand, this "higher" price (if you're used to buying dioptric glasses, you certainly may notus to explain that the price is actually quite low) is compensated by the quality construction and attractive design. Thus, if you really want to look and feel good while wearing glasses, it is better to invest in quality products than to have cheap and low-quality glasses at first sight.
Final evaluation
Bottom line, Tomas Deep Black is a practical, functional and good looking pair of glasses. This is of course matched by their price, but for the proportions of dioptric (or otherother branded blue light glasses, it is ridiculously low. For all of you who have a sedentary job at a computer, we would therefore recommend that you consider buying them. And if you do decide to buy them, you can even try them out virtually on the Lentiamo website. We also tried it before ordering the glasses and we have to appreciate that the application is pretty accurate and you get at least a rough idea of how they will fit on you and whether a model other than Tomas Deep Black would be better for your head type. Still, we recommend them with all ten hands.
