There are dozens of products on the market that promise to improve sleep quality. But none of them is as popular as melatonin. So when I got the chance to try this supplement, I didn't hesitate for a moment.
What was my experience? Was it worth the investment or did I not notice any difference in the quality of my sleep? Did it come out well in terms of value for money, or is the price too inflated? Find out all this and much more in today's expert review.
Content of the review
The reason I wanted to try melatonin in the first place is simple. Firstly, because of the positive reviews from my friends, and secondly, out of curiosity as to whether the quality of sleep can actually beor whether a total change in lifestyle is required. My personal experience and findings can be found below.
Unrivalled effect
As is typical of our reviews, we first discuss the effectiveness and ingredients of the supplement, as these should be the most important aspects for any consumer. In one tablet of Melatonin Pharma Activ 5mg you will find only and only three substances:
- Melatonin, which helps to reduce the time needed to fall asleep and improves the quality of sleep.
- Inulin, a soluble fibre extracted from chicory root
- Magnesium stearate, which acts as an anti-caking agent.
You won't find any other nonsense chemicals or additives that only reduce the actual active ingredient content in this product.
As for the effect of melatonin, I was absolutely thrilled with it at first, but unfortunately this supplement has a downside. I can't say that I had a high level of melatonin before taking this supplement.significant sleep problems, but since I spend most of my time at night writingwriting articles or scrolling through social media, I 've hadI've had trouble falling asleep from time to time because of the blue light from electronic devices. Since I take one melatonin tablet half an hour before bedtime, I don't have this problem. I fall asleep in no time, but I can't say I feel 100% sleepy in the morning. Many other users have the same problem with morning fatigue, but on the other hand there are ...who can't get enough of melatonin and are completely refreshed in the morning.
First class price
I bought the whole package of Melatonin, which contains 100 tablets, on the e-shop Pilulka.cz for , which is an absolutely ideal price from my point of view. When taking 1 tablet a day, the pack will last you for 100 days. Unfortunately, the dosage is completely individual, while some people need half a tablet, others need two. Either way, you're good for at least two months.
When and how did I take melatonin?
As I mentioned in an earlier paragraph, I took melatonin about half an hour before I planned to go to bed, each time washing down one tablet with plenty of water. From my point of view, there is no point in taking melatonin earlier than bedtime, as it would start working too early.
At the same time, it should be noted that in my experience the amount of food eaten before bedtime also affects the effectiveness of melatonin. My classic second dinner is a scoop of micellar casein about an hour before bedtime (i.e. half an hour before bedtime). In this case, the supplement worked perfectly well for me. However, when I did not eat my first dinner on time and therefore ate a lot before bedtime, the effect of the melatonin was less. Because of this experience, I recommend taking it rather on an empty stomach.
Supplements are not essential
One final advantage to remember is that melatonin is not a medication and therefore cannot be depended ondependence on it, and your sleep will not be worse after stopping than it was before taking the supplement. However, as in many of our previous articles, it is important to point out that supplements are not the key.
If you're having trouble sleeping, it might be time to address the time spent looking at electronic devices, takinguse of pre-workouts in the evening, poor diet and many other aspects that interfere with optimal sleep. Supplements are helpful, but they are only the imaginary top of the pyramid of quality sleep.

Final evaluation
I definitely recommend trying Melatonin to anyone who has problems with falling asleep and sleep as such, as it is a supplement that provides a very good, but to some0 extent individual, effect for a minimal price. However, if you have really serious sleep problems, you probably won't even find this supplementwill not save you and you will have to radically change your lifestyle or see a doctor.
In any case, I recommend you try it out and simply see if you are one of the people it works for or if you don't notice any change. If you're looking for a purely plant-based alternative, you could try velvet beans, for example, which we recently tried and had a great experience with.
