Where to buy?

At the beginning, it remains to add that most of the declared positives of the tea will only become apparent after a longer period of time, and that's why we took care of the review and tested the tea for quite a long time.

What is blue tea anyway?

At its core, blue tea is not a tea, but an ordinary herb that you can prepare as a tea. Clitoria ternata is a tropical plant that can grow up to 6 metres tall. It is cultivated not only for its fruit, but also for its ability to enrich the soil with nitrogen and thus improve its overall quality.

It is a truly versatile plant, however, as not only the flowers but also the pods and even the roots can be used. The flowers, however, undoubtedly have the widest range of uses. In addition to their myriad health benefits, they are commonly used as a dye, e.g.In Burma they are coated in batter and fried, and in Thailand they are even made into syrups.

But apart from its atypical colour, it also has an extreme number of positive effects on human health. Although we will talk about them in more depth when we come to the effect, it is worthwhile to preface and highlight, for example, the positive effect on digestion, mood and your skin and hair. In addition, it can relieve arthritis pain, reduce asthma symptoms and also affect the nervous system.

Blue tea properties
Blue tea is one of the most special teas you will find on the market. But apart from its colour, it also has unusual effects for which it has been used for centuries.

A simple preparation that anyone can do

You might wonder whether blue tea is really blue and not just a trade name. Of course it is blue, but the specific shade is very difficult to describe because it depends on the pH of the water you use to make the tea.

Even just adding a few drops of lemon will suddenly turn the tea from blue to an intense purple. The preparation of the tea itself is very simple. Just use 5 blue tea leaves and pour 250 ml of boiling water over them (set the kettle to 100°C). After pouring, let the blue tea steep for 5 to 7 minutes and then strain.

For this tea, however, unlike green tea such as Gyokuro (which we recently tested), I definitely do not recommend a second infusion.

Blue tea effect
The preparation of the tea is very simple.

Absolutely indescribable taste

As for the taste of blue tea, it is absolutely indescribable and different from anything else I have tasted so far. The tea is not bitter at all, but it does smell rather strange. It is obvious from the taste that it is an herb, because no tea has the same taste (although foreign websites often try to compare it to green tea).

It is quite earthy, and its smell and taste remind me slightly of seaweed, which I've tasted a few times, but it's definitely not something you'd be particularly interested in taste-wise. When you add lemon, not only does the color change, but the flavor and aroma is also vastly different, the tea is definitely much better from my perspective.

And what effect can you look forward to?

As I mentioned once in the introduction, I've been testing the tea for a really long time. The reason is simple, foreign websites lists such a wide range of effects that it's simply hard to believe. Of course, you cannot verify most of the effects yourself, so I would like to highlight only what you really notice by drinking blue tea regularly.

For me, the absolutely pivotal and very positive effect has been in improving the overall quality of my sleep. Clitoris can calm the body, remove tension and even have a sedative effect. So if you are more tired than is healthy during the day, I would definitely give blue tea a shot. Indian medicine recommends this plant especially for constipation, as it has a beneficial effect on the digestive system.

I can also confirm this from my own experience, because as I eat quite a lot of meat, I have felt slightly acidic at times and blue tea has helped me with that too. However, from other effects that I did not personally experience, I can definitely mention the anti-inflammatory effectsI can mention the anti-inflammatory effects, the beneficial effect on liver health and even the reduction of joint pain in arthritis. In addition, the tea also helps with respiratory problems, nourishes hair and skin, and promotes fertility in both men and women.

Blue tea preparation
The effects of blue tea are many and everyone can find a reason to use it.

Unfortunately, you have to pay quite a bit extra

If blue tea has any disadvantage, it is the extremely high price. For 100g of blue tea, you will pay an almost unbelievable . By comparison, this is still much more than what you pay for the same amount of Gyokura, which is one of the top green teas. So rather than a regular drink, blue tea is more of a specialty that is good for tasting.

Where to buy blue tea cheapest?

Final assessment

Blue tea is definitely something that I've enjoyed trying and I would definitely recommend the same to you. However, since it's not a miracle in terms of taste and the price is really high, it's really worth just trying it rather than drinking it regularly.

So if you're going to make a purchase on ManuTea (or anywhere else), add 50g of blue tea to your cart. But making a special purchase for it is not worth it in my opinion.
