You may have heard about the Canadian brand Mutant in the past on our website, for example when we published a review of Mutant Pro protein.Back then, Mutant received a positive review from us and I can already reveal that today's review will be in a similar vein.

A solid formula built on a quality foundation

Mutant Madness has a pretty solid formula that includes a good dose of beta alanine, the amino acid responsible for burning and tingling under the skin, which can give you a decent kick before a workout, but also L-citrulline, which is responsible for better blood circulation.

  • 1,250 mg of beta alanine - promotes performance and causes the typical burning and tingling under the skin
  • 1,000 mg of L-citrulline malate - improves blood circulation, promotes peak performance and reduces muscle soreness
  • 666 mg of taurine - for better transport of nutrients to muscles and for maximum concentration
  • 500 mg of L-arginine - increases hormone and nitric oxide production during training
  • 333 mg of L-tyrosine - enhances the effect of caffeine and is a precursor of adrenaline and noradrenaline
  • 333 mg of Arabica extract - a great source of caffeine
  • 142 mg of green, white and black tea leaf extract - a source of caffeine, delays fatigue
  • 30 mg of L-theanine - enhances the effect of caffeine
  • 25 mg of green coffee extract - source of caffeine

Due to the high content of tea and coffee extracts , a single dose of Mutant Madness contains up to 330 mg of caffeine, which is a hefty load. You should also know that according to available sources, most people shouldn't take more than 400 mg of this stimulant in a day. Regular coffee drinkers should thus be wary of Mutant Madness.Another big plus is the absence of harmful sweeteners and dyes, which are often found quite a lot in pre-workouts. Ultimately, we rate the composition quite positively.

Exceptionally pleasant taste

I had the opportunity to try the pineapple passion flavor for testing and I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised. Obviously, taste ratings are always very subjective and today is no different. But compared to other preworkouts, I can't help feeling that Mutant Madness tastes very good indeed. Since I don't like to drink unnecessarily large amounts of liquids before training, I diluted the kickwith less water than recommended by the manufacturer, which of course reflected on the taste. The taste was much more pronounced, but to my surprise it was not particularly artificial or unpleasant. It is not often that I praise a pre-workout in terms of taste, this timebut I have to make an exception and admit that Mutant Madness doesn't taste bad at all.

The effect is top notch

It probably won't come as a surprise that a pre-workout containing over 300 grams of caffeine can really give a person a good kick. So before trying Mutant Madness for the first time, I was full of expectations. I'm happy to say that I didn't leave the workout disappointed. Madness pedals really well, no matter if you came to the workout completely tired from work. The manufacturer recommends taking half a scoop, which is pretty tricky. Everyone tends to scoop a scoop nice and full, ideally a good topful. Remember, though, that in that case you'd be kicking over 600 mg of caffeine at once, which is way beyond the recommended daily dose. For this reason, we really recommend sticking to the prescribed dosage, because even half a scoop works really well.

Mutant Madness is good both in taste and effect.

Very good price

One dose of Mutant Madness comes out to less than 11 crowns, which puts it in the category of cheaper pre-workouts. Honestly, I have to say that 11 crowns for a pre-workout that weighss really reliable kick and also tastes surprisingly good, is a really great price. It is true that there are a lot of cheaper products, but their final effect is much weaker in the vast majority of cases. On the contrary, even more expensive products often do not work as well as Mutant Madness. For this reason, I can't help but rate the price as one of the main advantages of this pre-workout.

Final evaluation

Mutant Madness pleasantly surprised me on all fronts. The composition is solid and it also contains no harmful substances, which is definitely not a given in the case of pre-workouts. The taste and the effect itself really exceeded my expectations, so I have no choice but to highly recommend Mutant Madness to everyone.
