The website Kulturistika.com is one of the most famous e-shops focusing on sports supplements on our market. When we got the opportunity to try some of their products, we didn't hesitate for a moment. When an eshop of a similar size decides to come to the market with its own product, high demands are understandably placed on it. If you are selling premium supplements from other brands, you need to impress the customer with something really high quality to have a chance to make a name for yourself. Today we're going to take a look at Bodybuilding.com's New 100% Whey Protein, which has been available for quite a while and has managed to rack up a huge amount of positive reviews. Does it deserve them? And does it have a chance to compete with even the best proteins you can get on the market? The answers to all the important questions can be found in this review.
Content of the review
The range of supplements from Bodybuilding is not very wide at the moment. Apart from protein, joint nutrition and amino acids, only peanut butter and coconut oil are left in their repertoire. Yet whey protein is of course the most popular product of all. How did it fare in our review?
Simple but quality ingredients
Lately, it seems to be a big trend to add everything from digestive enzymes to added amino acids to proteins. This of course adds to the price of the product, but hand in hand with the higher price often goes better digestibility and other benefits. However, some manufacturers will sometimes try to sneak in a long list of ingredientssome controversial colouring or flavouring in the hope that the consumer will overlook it. That's why I've recently taken a liking to proteins with simple ingredients that don't contain anything that doesn't need to be there. In addition to the greater purity, this can bring down the final price of the protein, making it much more affordable. New 100% Whey Protein from Bodybuilding is a beautiful example of this.
Apart from the whey protein concentrate, the only things you'll find in the ingredients are unspecified flavouring, salt, caramel colouring and the sweetener sucralose. These are therefore completely harmless substances, their use is perfectly fine. Looking at the table of nutritional values of the protein, we find that in one serving there are 30.4 grams of protein, 2.7 grams of fat and 2 grams of carbohydrates. That's actually not bad at all. Thirty grams of protein is a really decent load, and the amount of fat and carbs is still well within the acceptable norm. So in terms of composition, there's really nothing to criticize. One could argue that some competing proteins contain, for example, the aforementioned digestive enzymes, but their absence cannot be considered a shortcoming.

What is the best way to prepare a protein?
The manufacturer lists the recommended dose as 40 grams of protein (about 2 heaped scoops) dissolved in 300 ml of water or milk. But I have to say that this dosage does not suit me at all. This is mainly because of the taste, which I will come back to in a moment. During the testing of this protein, I played around with the dosage for a while before I came to the conclusion thatthat in terms of taste, price and digestibility, I am most comfortable with a dose of 30 grams, i.e. three quarters of the recommended dose. This is, of course, very subjective, but I believe I am not the only one who is simply not comfortable with the recommended dosage.
As far as water solubility is concerned, I haven't had a single problem with the protein from Kulturistika. After shaking it foams for a while, but after a few seconds all the foam disappears. You can then enjoy your protein without any lumps or deposits at the bottom of the shaker.
The perfect taste that is guaranteed to get you
The Bodybuilding.com New 100% Whey Protein is available in 4 flavours, with the best rated of these being Salted Caramel, which we finally decided to try. To be honest, I was pretty nervous before my first taste. SaltedCaramel is a flavor that can taste absolutely great, but it can equally end up being a complete disaster if the manufacturer doesn't tweak it to the last detail. After the first sip, however, I was relieved to find that in this case there was no disaster. The taste is perfectly balanced, so you don't have to worry about the protein being too salty or too sweet.
I have to go back to the dosage mentioned above, though. Two scoops in 300 ml of water really seems like a lot to me. If I actually followed this dosage, I would have a lot of time to drink after the workout.I would probably have a problem with drinking the whole protein, because it would be too strong for my taste. That's why I decided to use only 30 grams and I have to say that I really enjoyed the protein. If you like salted caramel, you'll definitely enjoy the protein from Kulturistika.
Is the price fair?
The last criterion to consider is price. At this point, the first major criticism has to come in, as one serving of Kulturistika.com New 100% Whey Protein will set you back about 27 crowns, which is actually quite a lot. Even taking into account all the strengths of this protein, I can't shake the feeling that 27 crowns per dose is simply too much. And that brings us back to my adjusted dosage. Because if you only have one and a half scoops instead of two heaping scoops, in addition to the better taste and digestion, you'll also get a much better price per scoop. When the dosage is adjusted to 30 grams of protein, one serving will cost you about 20 crowns, which is already much more affordable. Such a price for a high-quality and tastefully balanced protein is, in my opinion, quite right.
Conclusion.
In the end, the whey protein from Kulturistika really lived up to its excellent reputation. The only negative I see is the wrong recommended dosage, but you can very easily adjust it to suit your needs. In this case, I cannot but highly recommend Kulturistika.com New 100% Whey Protein. I consider the main advantages to be the clean and very simple composition and the perfect taste. I also like the choice of the size of one pack. You won't drink an eight-hundred gram pack right away, but at the same time it won't last so long at home that you overindulge in the flavor and stop liking it.
That's it for today. But you can turn to us with any questions or comments in the comments, which we'll try to answer as quickly as possible.
