Obstinated Maniac Veins Pre - Unconventional preworkout? (Review)

One of the things I really love about my job is the fact that I'm constantly getting exposed to new products from brands I didn't even know before. One such company was Obstinated, who recently gave me the opportunity to try their products.

The previous review of this brand's supplements was about the very positively reviewed Maniac Whey protein, today it was the turn of their pre-workout Maniac Veins Pre. So what was it like? Did it work for me? Is it worth investing in? Find out in our review today.

Right at the beginning it is good to mention that I decided to try this pump mainly because of the content of unconventional substances such as glycerol, norvaline or malic acid. My evaluation can be found below.

Ingredients for a very good pump

Of course, the composition is always a factor that I go by when it comes toI consider whether a supplement is worth trying for me or whether it is useless. And I have to say that the ingredients in Maniac Veins Pre are very well chosen. Of course, the base is made up of proven ingredients, namely citrulline, beta-alanine and arginine, which probably don't need to be known.(if you are interested, you can read one of the articles of the supplement series under the microscope). But it is definitely worth introducing the ingredients that make Maniac Veins Pre an exceptional product:

  • Glycerol - An ingredient that is very often included in foreign pre-workouts, but Czech companiescompanies avoid it for some unknown reason (except for the unrivalled m3/s pump product from Czech Virus). This substance can increase the amount of water bound in the muscles, which which translates into much better pumping, dilation of blood vessels and increased vascularity.
  • L-Norvaline - Again, an ingredient used primarily by manufacturers abroad. It is an isomer of valine that can block the body's ability to excrete nitric oxide. So on the one hand there are substances in this product that increase NO production, on the other hand there are ingredients that help maintain high production and functionality.
  • L-Ornithine - Ornithine is an alpha amino acid that plays an important role in the urea cycle. There it condenses with carbamoyl phosphate to form citrulline. Therefore, it is not surprising that ornithine has the ability to increase growth hormone levels and also helps blood flow to the muscles.
  • Vitamin C - You may be familiar with vitamin C from many supplements, but it is rarely found in pre-workout supplements.
  • Malic acid - Used to delay fatigue during training

From my personal perspective, the product contains unnecessarily high amounts of arginine and AAKG, which is nowadays already surpassed by citrulline. This is evidenced by the fact that pre-workout products such as Serious Pre, which includecontain higher amounts of citrulline rather than arginine. On the other hand, my overall impression of Maniac Veins Pre is greatly improved by the content of the atypical but functional ingredients listed above.

Nutritional data Content in 100 g Content per serving 16 g

Flavour reminiscent of energy drinks

In terms of flavor, Maniac Veins Pro is only available in one, namely tropical fruit. And honestly, no matter how hard I try, I can't smell tropical fruit from this drink. Rather, the taste of the pre-workout reminds me of energy drinks. That's not to say I didn't like the pre-workout, not at all, but rather I was expecting a completely different taste from it.

For my taste, this variant looks maybe too chemical and over-sweetened, most of theI had to use more water than the manufacturer declares on the packaging. On the other hand, I have not been drinking energy drinks for the last few years, just because of the sweet and chemical taste. But if you like their taste, you'll probably be happy with this flavor too.

Obstinated Maniac Veins taste
Pre-workout tastes very similar to an energy drink, which may suit anyone.

A hassle-free preparation that will ease a lot of time

When it comes to preparing the Maniac Veins Pre, I found only one problem. When my pre-workout arrived, there were whole lumps and large chunks in the product. But otherwise the preparation itself went smoothly, it didn't even require a shaker, it was enough to put it in a jar3 scoops, i.e. the recommended dose , into a 400ml glass of water, stir with a spoon and most of the active ingredients dissolved.

Preparation in a shaker is therefore unnecessary, but of course if it is more convenient for you, nothing prevents it. Just shake a few times and the pre-workout is ready to drink, it does not foam, does not form lumps and does not even comecompared to other products, of course some of the key ingredients are not fully soluble).

Lump pre-workout
Even if you find lumps in your pre-workout pack, it's not too much of a problem. They are easy to separate and the solubility is still very good.

Relatively high price

If you decide to buy the whole package of Obstinated Maniac Veins Pre, you will pay for it, which when budgeted per serving comes out to just under per serving. To be honest, this price is quite high, because for example, the mentioned Serious Pre comes out cheaper. On the other hand, we are comparing a different spectrum of active ingredients. So there are both significantly cheaper pre-workouts and much more expensive pre-workouts.

Obstinated Maniac Veins Pre Dosage
Although the price is quite high, it is largely compensated by the very good effect.

Final evaluation

To be honest, I have been looking for a pre-workout different from all the others for a long time. Why? For a simple reason, the body develops a resistance to the active substances after a certain period of time and the supplement stops "going". Substances like citrulline still work, but you don't feel the same stimulation.

Well, since Maniac Veins Pre contains completely different substances than competing products, it will weighwill probably work very well even if you're used to taking similar supplements.
