Not too long ago I came across Obstinated products. I was intrigued by the rather distinctive packaging of the supplements, but I didn't pay too much attention to them because I see dozens of similar products every day. However, when this company contacted us some time ago asking if we wanted to test their products, I didn't hesitate for a moment.
One of the products that arrived for me to try was the Maniac Whey 100 protein. So what was it like? Was I intrigued by its unusual taste? Did it stand out above the competition or was it a wasted investment? Find out in this review!

For completeness, all that remains to be said is that this protein is available in two variants - pistachio and Nutella-banana. Although I have only tried the second of the mentioned options, I can answer all the important questions. So you can find out the essentials in the review itself.
Ingredients that easily rival the best products in their category
It is always quite difficult to break down the ingredients of proteins, because they are usually very similar. The big advantage of Maniac Whey 100 is the way the protein is produced using cross-filtration (CFM), one of the best and most gentle processes to obtain protein. Kromě toho najdete v příchuti nutela-banán ještě odtučněný kakaový prášek, aroma, oxid křemičitý (zdravotně nezásweetener) and sucralose, which (unlike many other sweeteners) is not controversial.
Where did the Nutella flavour go?
Imagine you prepare a protein, pour it into a glass and it has a beautiful chocolate color. When you smell the protein, you feel the pleasant combination of chocolate and banana. But then you take a sip, and all you perceive is the banana. I guess that's my experience with the taste of the "Nutela-banana" flavour.
Quite honestly I can say that I liked the protein, combined with ice it was very refreshing and I have nothing to complain about it. I just expected the taste to be more chocolatey. At the same time, I liked that the protein was not too sweet. I followed the dosage specified by the manufacturer and used only 250ml of water. Even so, the protein definitely did not feel artificial or sweet and I can only recommend this flavour.
Easy to prepare and easy to dissolve
When it comes to the preparation of this protein, there is not much to complain about. I used only 250ml of water as recommended by the manufacturer, which is slightly less than usual, but the scoop of protein (which is part of thepart of the package) dissolved without any problems, it did not foam at all and after a few shakes in the shaker it was ready to drink.
The only minor drawback is the single pack size
From my point of view, a rather major shortcoming is the only one pack size available. You can only get the protein in the 1000g variant. And the jar is also rather unfortunately designed, because the quabecause of the narrow neck, it is sometimes difficult to pull out the scoop of protein. I think I speak for a lot of athletes when I say it's best for us to buy proteins in larger packs, so I would definitely welcome it in the company's future offerings.
A price that will make any recreational exerciser happy
So far, you might have noticed that I have been extremely happy with the protein. And even after comparing the price, this will not change. To give you an idea, we can compare, for example, with CFM Evolution from Prom-IN, among others, also the winner of our comparison of the best protein supplements. In his case, one dose when buying a large pack comes out to some , while with Maniac Whey you go for under . It should be noted, however, that Prom-IN contains 30g of protein in one 40g serving, whereas Maniac Whey 100 contains just under 20g in a 25g serving.
So if you have higher protein intake requirements after your workout, you need to increase the dosage and of course the price will increase along with it. But if you stick to the recommended dosage as a recreational exerciser, it is a great choice in terms of value for money.
Final evaluation
Quite frankly, I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by this protein. If you're looking for a really tasty protein that won't "overeat" and you'll still be craving it after finishing the whole package, I can definitely recommend Maniac Whey 100. Thanks to its relatively low price, it is also a good choice for students who cannot afford to invest too much money in protein.
