Although omega 3 fatty acids don't look as interesting at first glance as whey protein, creatine or pre-workout pre-workouts. But they are one of the most important supplements, as the typical Central European diet definitely doesn't contain enough of them. Therefore, in today's review, we'll take a look at one of the top-rated supplements in this category. Opti Omega-3 has an extremely high quality composition and a high content of active ingredients. How did this product perform in our test? And is it worth trying?
Content of the review
Opti Omega-3 is a brand of the Health Institute. It was founded in 2008 and just a year later it started producing its own supplements. The company's mission is to care for people who suffer from diseases related to poor lifestyle.
Absolutely pure ingredients
The most important aspect of quality omega 3 fatty acids is the pure formulation. The basis of Opti Omega-3 is fish oil made from small fish from Iceland. The product therefore contains high levels of EPA and DHA, which occur naturally in this oil. The fish oil is also triple filtered, so it retains the maximum possible quality. The formula also includes orange flavouring to enhance the taste. But it is also worth noting that even without the orange flavouring, Opti Omega-3 has no fishy smell, which is another consequence of the special gentle filtration.
A huge advantage of Opti Omega-3 is the high content of active ingredients. In fact, unlike the vast majority of competing products, it is a liquid product. Each dose is therefore much more concentrated than in the case of products in capsule form. Therefore, one dose contains up to 950 mg of EPA and 600 mg of DHA. This is many times more than in competing products.
Storage is a bit impractical
However, the liquid form of the supplement carries with it one major disadvantage besides the advantage of a higher content of active ingredients. This is the rather impractical use. Opti Omega-3 needs to be stored in the fridge, which is in itself quite limiting. In addition, you need a spoon and water to drink. Compared to conventional capsules, taking Opti Omega-3 is therefore quite complicated.
A single dose is about 5 ml, which in practice corresponds to one half tablespoon. At this dosage, one pack will last you about 40 days. Should you decide on a different dosage, keep in mind that the contents of the bottle need to be used within 3 months of opening. This is another disadvantage compared to classic supplements in capsule form. But it is questionable how many people this will pose a real problem for.
The taste may not suit everyone
While with other capsule products you may not bother with any taste at all, with Opti Omega-3 it's worth stopping by for a while. The manufacturer states that the oil doesn't smell fishy at all, and I have to give him the benefit of the doubt on that front. However, after swallowing you can definitely smell some aftertaste. It's not a bad thing, but it's worth taking into account if you want to take omega-3 fatty acids regularly and long term.
Excellent value for money
A very important aspect to always consider when choosing a supplement is, of course, its price. Despite its high quality, Opti Omega-3 is far from being one of the most expensive products on the market, although I think this would be perfectly understandable. On the contrary. On a per daily dose basis, it works out cheaper than many competing products that have a significantly inferior composition. The resulting price/quality ratio is therefore absolutely perfect.
Final assessment
Opti Omega-3 is a product that I can unequivocally recommend to anyone looking for quality omega 3 fatty acids. It has an excellent formula and also comes out cheaper per daily dose than many competing products. Its taste may not suit everyone, but it is very easy to get used to. For this reason, Opti Omega-3 earns an excellent rating from us.
