If you've never heard of Penco, don't be surprised. In fact, until recently, I didn't even know there was such a company, and I'm in the world of nutritional supplements almost constantly. However, some time ago I had the opportunity to try some of the company's products and I chose BCAA Instant without hesitation.
What was this supplement ultimately like? Can its formula compete with other products? Is it worth investing in or is it a waste of money? Do they have any effect on recovery? All this and much more you will find out in the following review.
Content of the review
Since BCAAs are obviously not a supplement whose effect you feel after trying a single sample, I tested the entire 330g pack of Penco BCAA Instant and even in both flavours. So you can see the results I observed while using it below.
Absolutely flawless formula
The individual amino acids are represented in BCAA Instant in a 2:1:1 ratio, which is the best ratio ever. This blend of leucine, isoleucine and valine is further enriched with vitamins B6, B12, C and the amino acid l-arginine.
In one 11g serving you will find:
- 8000 mg of BCAAs for proper recovery and kick-starting proteosynthesis
- 4 mg of vitamin B6, which is involved in amino acid and carbohydrate metabolism
- 6 mcg of vitamin B12 for proper hematopoietic function and DNA and ATP synthesis
- 160 mg of vitamin C for a resilient immune system
- 250 mg of l-arginine, which is responsible for better muscle blood flow and increased nitric oxide production
Premium solubility even without a shaker
The first time I prepared BCAA Instant, I used a shaker. This later turned out to be a mistake, because the amino acids then foamed so much that they could not be drunk. Therefore, I only let the next servings dissolve in about 350ml of water and stirred lightly with a spoon. The BCAAs were ready in no time, dissolved immediately and could be drunk without any foam.
When and how did I take the BCAAs?
Although it is generally recommended to take BCAAs before trainingand after training, I found it most useful to take them in the morning on an empty stomach. After waking up I drink half a litre of plain water with lemon and about ten minutes after that I took 11g of BCAAs mixed in 350ml of water.
I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised and already after two weeks of active use I felt a positive effect on recovery.
Quality BCAAs at a good price
The 330g pack of Penco BCAA Instant is available for . This is a very good price in my opinion, as it works out even a little cheaper than BCAA Synergy, which was the winner of our best amino acids.
While for one dose of BCAA Synergy you will pay about , in the case of Penco BCAA Instant it is almost less. So, in my opinion, they are the best amino acids for example for students who have only limited financial possibilities.
Available in two great flavours
Unlike the aforementioned Synergy BCAAs, however, Penco BCAA Instant is only available in two, and not quite traditional, flavours - grapefruit and cherry:
- I foundthe cherry flavour (9.5/10) very refreshing, but a bit bitter. It's not something that's impossible to get used to, but some people may find it unpleasant. Otherwise, the flavour is very refreshing and once you get used to it, you will absolutely love it. So I rate it 9.5 out of 10
- The grapefruit flavour (9.5/10) is more or less the same in terms of characteristics - some may find it bitter, but if you get used to it, you will also love it. Otherwise, the grapefruit flavor is not that sweet either, so if you don't like unnecessarily over-sweetened supplements, you'll definitely enjoy it. I also give it 9.5 points out of 10.
If you don't know which flavor to choose, I recommend ordering both. Since the package contains 33 servings, it will last you while using one doses a day for a month, which is a relatively short time and worth buying two packs.
Final assessment
I dare say that Penco BCAA Instant are one of the best products on the market and it's a shame that they haven't gotten more popular yet. They don't contain too many unnecessary additives, they contain six highly effective substances right away and they are also at a great price.
In conclusion, if you decide to invest in branched chain amino acids, Penco BCAA Instant is the best possible choice.
