Prom-IN CFM Probiotics: premium protein for people's money? (Review)

Prom-IN CFM Probiotics, the successor to one of the most popular and well-known proteins on the market, CFM Evolution. I certainly don't need to introduce the Prom-IN brand to any of you, their products boast an absolutely great formula that is focused on maximizing the product's use.

But will it really be as good and popular as its predecessor? Did it live up to our expectations? Is it an improved version of the original protein or is it just a marketing ploy? Can it compete with today's popular proteins? Is it really as good as they say it is? Find out all this and more in today's review.

It wasn't that long ago that CFM Probiotics first hit the market and we wanted to test it thoroughly from the start and bring you objective, truthful information about this product. That time is finally here, and I can already tell you that the protein has definitely not disappointed us, so let's take a look at how it stood up to individual tests.

The composition is surprisingly good

I was pleasantly surprised by the composition of the protein. The only source of protein here is heat-denatured whey processed by a non-chemical cross-filtration process(CFM).

The result of this method is an excellent whey protein that retains all the important protein fractions and is characterised by a very high leucine content, which together with other amino acids plays a key role in muscle anabolism (growth). In addition, the protein is fully instant and can be used in any meal you want.

I really appreciate the addition of proteolytic enzymes for maximum usability and absorption of the protein in the product. In terms of digestibility, I was satisfied.

Prom-in CFM Probiotics ingredients
Prom-IN CFM Probiotics is made with a quality CFM method.

Furthermore, a big plus for me is the addition of probiotics and prebiotics to ensure even better digestion of the product, boost immunity and much more. However, a lot of people are rather skeptical about adding probiotics to foods, and it's true that the average exerciser won't even know if there are probiotics in a product or not. On the other hand, an experienced exerciser can definitely appreciate this bonus. However, it is positive that Prom-IN does not make a big deal out of the addition of probiotics to protein and even claimsthat they are added mainly for taste enhancement and not for their health or digestive benefits. If you would like to take digestive enzymes to aid digestion, it is better to reach for a separate supplement. For example, you can choose enzymes from our probiotic comparison.

The protein is sweetened with harmless sucralose. Unfortunately, stevia is not to be expected with products in this price range. In addition, many manufacturers in this price range may use, for example, acesulfame potassium or sodium cyclamate, which are definitely more controversial sweeteners that I would recommend avoiding.

Our tip
If you're using protein in porridge or other porridge, let it cool first. If you were to add the protein to a warm environment, you would unnecessarily destroy all the healthful protein fractions and probiotics.

What about the nutritional value of protein? At first glance, I was struck by the fact that the chocolate flavor is only 70% protein and the other flavors have only slightly more protein. When I compare this to competing products, the protein content of CFM Probiotics is rather below average and this could put many people off buying it. However, for recreational exercisers, it doesn't really matter if they take a protein with 70% protein content or a protein with 75% content, so I would sleep on these detailsI would recommend that more experienced exercisers who carefully count every gram of protein intake deal with these details.

Prom-in CFM Probiotics amino acid spectrum
Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not list the amino acid spectrum on the label.

Best flavour? Without a doubt strawberry.

I'll tell you straight up that in terms of taste, the protein was unfortunately disappointing for me. I was expecting every flavor to be perfectly tuned as it was presented by the manufacturer, but unfortunately I found nothing of the sort here. I tried the protein in all possible forms, namely in water, porridges, yoghurt and cottage cheese.

When mixing the protein in water I followed the manufacturer's instructions, 40g of protein per 200-400 ml of water. Here is an evaluation of the specific flavours:

  • Chocolate (7/10), the one I was looking forward to the most, but it was the one that disappointed me the most. The chocolate flavor was nowhere near as pronounced as the other brands, and I didn't even detect it in the oatmeal. At least there was hope in the yogurt and cottage cheese, and the addition of protein resulted in a weaker chocolate flavor. After mixing the protein in water according to the manufacturer's instructions, the taste was not at all pronounced.
  • I was very tempted bythe coconut (6/10), expecting to smell the perfect coconut aroma when I opened the package, but alas. After opening, there was only a very faint aroma of coconut. Flavour-wise, the protein was practically the same as the chocolate flavour. Neither the taste nor the smell was at all pronounced even when mixed in the prescribed amount of water. Here, unfortunately, mixing it in yogurt or cottage cheese didn't save it either, there was still only a slight whiff of coconut. Overall, this flavour was a disappointment.
  • The strawberry (9/10) one was less of a saving grace for me. I smelled a pleasant strawberry aroma right after opening it and thought to myself, this is finally going to be a hit. I was not wrong. The taste was absolutely delicious. After mixing the protein into the porridge I was in seventh heaven, absolutely perfectly tuned strawberry flavor. A little worse was mixing the protein in the yogurt, when CFM Probiotics was too sweet (but we can reduce this by adding water). Mixing the protein in water produces a taste reminiscent of a strawberry shake.
Our tip
Try mixing the protein in less water to bring out the flavour of the product more. However, the opposite is true for strawberry flavour, add a little more water if you don't like over-sweetened proteins.

We have tried all the flavours available. The one we liked the most was strawberry.

The digestibility and solubility is really perfect

Thanks to the added digestive enzymes, the digestibility of the product is absolutely perfect. I prepared 40g of protein in 300ml of water and the consistency was beautifully creamy. I also tried the protein in oat and rice porridge, yoghurt or cottage cheese and everything was absolutely no problem.

I didn't notice any problems with the solubility of the protein either, it didn't foam, didn't form lumps and was fully instant.

Our tip
To create a delicious, refreshing creamy shake, add ice and use a blender.

We had no problem with the solubility of the protein.

When is the ideal time to use?

CFM Probiotics contains easily and quickly absorbed protein, so it is most suitable for use after a workout. However, it is also suitable for use at any time of the day.

The protein is well suited for use in a variety of sweet recipes where heat processing is not required (due to the preservation of the protein fractions and probiotics).

Our tip
Try the chocolate flavour mixed in cottage cheese. This makes a very tasty chocolate parfait.

The price is more than affordable

The price absolutely corresponds to the quality of the product. On the official website of the manufacturer, the product in a 2.25kg pack costs , which is an appropriate and fair price. However, if you wait for the right moment, you can get the product even for or even cheaper.

I think that everyone can afford this product. The price of one dose is around , which is very nice. In addition, the fact that this is an exceptionally high quality product that does not have much competition is a huge plus.

Alternative product Pure Elite CFM

Similar product to CFM Probiotics by Prom-IN is Pure Elite CFM from the seasoned brand Czech Virus. This protein is practically almost the same. Both contain high quality whey protein processed by the CFM method. Both have added proteolytic enzymes and probiotics. The quality is virtually the same, the taste of the proteins is a completely individual matter, but for me Pure Elite wins due to its higher protein content of 77%.

In addition, it accurately declares the amount of probiotics in the product. And the amount of probiotics here is not small at all, which is a huge plus. Some might also find it attractive that it is sweetened with natural steviol glycosides.

In short, it has a little bit of an edge over CFM Probiotics, but there is one big minus, and that's the much higher price, where you pay up to extra, which could be a problem for some.

CFM Probiotics vs. CFM Evolution

When we compare these two brother proteins, we have two very similar products. Both can be used for the same purposes and are perfectly digestible thanks to their digestive enzymes, but I still see slight differences.

CFM Evolution is more suitable for people who like a higher protein content in their protein, here the protein content is in the range of 74-76%, it can beI would choose Evolution as a more suitable option for post-workout use because of the added free amino acids that will promote muscle growth.

The price of both proteins is exactly the same at per dose. The taste here is a completely individual matter and depends on your preference. However, you will not go wrong when buying either of these products, the differences are so minimal that you will hardly notice them.

The final review

So is it worth investing in CFM Probiotics? You'll be hard pressed to find a protein in this price range that can match this one in terms of quality and composition.

As for the taste, you will probably have to try it for yourself, some may like it, some may not. The strawberry was definitely the best. The overall feeling I got from the product was very good, I was positively surprised at how high quality a protein can be. The only minor minus was the taste, but I believe a lot of people can absolutely enjoy it.

If you're looking for a protein that comes out very well in terms of value for money, CFM Probiotics is a very good choice for you.
