KetoDiet Protein Porridge: the perfect start to a busy day? [review]

On the one hand, breakfast has its advocates who prefer to stay up late just to have enough time to prepare and eat breakfast.On the other hand, there are people who are not hungry in the morning and therefore do not have their first meal until later. And as we discussed in our article on the (in)importance of breakfast, it doesn't matter that much in terms of weight loss. However, if you can't imagine your day without a good breakfast, this review is for you. We'll take a look at the Protein Porridge from KetoDiet.

Good ingredients with protein, fibre and vitamins

When it comes to the composition of KetoDiet's protein porridge, we don't have much to complain about. The basis is a mixture of different proteins, with whey protein and whey protein.protein, micellar casein, egg white and soya protein isolate. It is the combination of proteins that, from our point of view, is a better choice in terms of gradual release than using, for example, a single protein source. And ultimately porridges contain up to 60% protein. In addition, you will find fibre (bamboo, konjac, citrus and inulin), a thickener in the form of the demonstrably safe carboxymethylcellulose, soya lecithin as an emulsifier, andacesulfame K and sucralose were used for sweetening, and the safety of these sweeteners was discussed in the article Which artificial sweeteners are safe? In addition, the porridge also contains a mixture of vitamins and minerals, but some of these are represented, for example, in the not so goodforms (instead of magnesium oxide, we would imagine some bisglycinate or similar). Otherwise, we have nothing to complain about, but we must mention that the above composition refers to the porridge in the variant Vanilla and banana and for the other products the protein composition and other items are slightly different.

How is the porridge prepared?

The preparation of the porridge itself is quite simple, so it will probably be appreciated even by those of you who don't keep up with it all the time. All you have to do is take one bag, which contains 27 grams of the mixture, and mix it in 150 ml of warm water. We have also tried warm milk, and we think the porridge tastes better, but of course the more you drink it, the better it tastes.It is not very suitable for those of you who are trying to minimise your carbohydrate intake. It is important to stir the porridge thoroughly so that lumps don't form. Then just wait a few minutes and you're good to go.

How does the porridge taste?

This brings us to one of the most important aspects and that is, of course, the taste. And it should be noted that actually all 3 flavours available are absolutely great. We really liked the Apple and Cinnamon version, which is less pronounced in taste and therefore allows you to flavour it according to your own preferences. For example, you can add chunks of baked apple and cinnamon to the porridge to accentuate the already natural flavour. However, the Raspberry and Vanilla & Banana variants are also good, so the choice depends primarily on your taste preferences.

How does the price compare?

The only problem in our opinion remains the price, because unless you wait for a discount promotion, one porridge will cost you up to 63 crowns at the time of writing this review. That's relatively a lot of money from our point of view, but of course we understand that the price reflects the relatively high cost of the raw materials. If you wait for a discount, a single serving can even come out to a price of around 50 crowns, which it's still not ideal, but it's definitely more pleasant. However, we would see the use of KetoDiet Protein rather than a regular breakfast given this price point porridge in situations when you're not in a hurry or when you need to quickly stave off hunger without unnecessarily lengthy preparation of other meals.

Final evaluation

If we ignore the high price, KetoDiet's protein porridge would be a good breakfast for normal days. However, at this price, it moves from a regular meal to more of ato an occasional treat that most people only enjoy occasionally. The ingredients are still good, the porridge tastes great and will keep you full for quite a long time despite its relatively low calorie content. We therefore definitely recommend trying it.
