If you've already seen our ranking of the best stimulant-free pre-workouts, or even read our article on why not to use stimulants before a workout, you'll know that we're big fans of these supplements and use them regularly ourselves in our editorial office. So when we were given the opportunity to try out the relatively new pre-workout Pumper, which is backed by Bodyburistika.com, we didn't hesitate for a minute.
Content of the review
In this review, we will of course take you through all the aspects we consider important for anyone actually thinking about buying a Pumper pre-workout. Let's take a look.
A top-notch formula that will find fans
The most important aspect of any supplement is usually the ingredients. And in this case, we have to commend Pumper. As you've probably already understood, it's stimulant-free, so it doesn't contain caffeine or other substances that would make you crave that would make it hard to fall asleep after an evening workout or give you unpleasant energy spikes. The supplement thus relies on the following composition in one dose (19 grams):
- 5000 mg citrulline malate
- 5000 mg of Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutorate
- 3000 mg betaine hydrochloride
- 3000 mg beta alanine hydrochloride
- 2000 mg of l-ornithine
- 20 mg capsaicin
- 10 mg synephrine
And we consider this to be quite sufficient, although we have to admit that Serious Pre contains a bit more citrulline per serving. But on the other hand, beta alanine, capsaicin and synephrine are the same in both products and Pumper even contains 3 times as much betaine. Ultimately, the two products are comparable, but what we appreciate about Pumper is its economical formula without any marketing interesting tinsel, which for us have no use for ordinary exercisers (typically e.g. Sucralose was used for sweetening and beta carotene for coloring, which is an ideal scenario for us.
A completely hassle-free preparation
When choosing a product, one might be interested in the preparation, although problematic solubility is often associated with proteins rather than pre-workout supplements. What we have to appreciate about Pumper is that it can be mixed with a spoon in a glass, so even in the case ofyou arrive at the gym without a shaker and the bar is willing to lend you a spoon, you can prepare your drink in peace. The only interesting thing for us is that the included measuring cup is really small and you need 5 measuring cups to cover the recommended dose. Honestly, we would have appreciated one large measuring spoon, but of course it has no effect on the functionality or preparation of the Pumper.
What do we say about the price?
At the time of writing this review, 20 doses of the Pumper supplement come out to 549 crowns, which is equivalent to 27 crowns per dose. This is a price absolutely comparable to other (often much worse in terms of composition and effect) supplements, so we have nothing to complain about here either. If you wait for a discount, you can of course get it cheaper, but 27 crowns per dose is a very reasonable price.
Brutal taste that deserves 10/10
A minor drawback of Pumper may be that at the time of writing this review it is only available in the mango variant (o přWe will keep you posted on any changes), which may not be to everyone's liking. We honestly like mango and for intense and slightly sour pre-workouts, we think the fruit flavours are ideal. In this section, we again cannot forgive ourselves for comparing it to the aforementioned Serious Pre, becauseboth pre-workouts are actually very refreshing, sour and sweet at the same time. However, we would recommend preparing it in at least 300 ml of water, which is double the manufacturer's recommended 150 ml, but if you are not unloadingfans of extremely concentrated and sour taste, you will be more satisfied if you make a weaker drink. But then there's nothing to fault it at all.
Great effect throughout the workout
If you expect a pre-workout to kick-start you and beat long-term sleep deprivation with its help, for example deficit and a hard day at work, you will be (somewhat expectedly, given the absence of stimulants) disappointed with Pumper. If what you want from a pre-workout is for it to support your pumping and help you get the most out of your workout all the time, then you'll be as excited about Pumper as we are. We drank it about half an hour before our workout and noticed primarily a slight burning in our ears (due tocaused by the beta-alanine) and a massive blood flow that's noticeable the moment you start warming up. At the same time, your veins stand out better, and they last through the entire workout, which in our casebut it doesn't exceed an hour and a half, so we can't judge how it is with longer workouts. Anyway, Pumper is exactly what we expect from a pre-workout supplement and therefore recommend it with all ten.
Conclusion.
What to say in conclusion? Perhaps only that Pumper is a pre-workout that is definitely worth a try. It's available at a good price, has a formula that, at first glance, looks economicalbut it contains all the essentials and most importantly - it really paces the workout. If you don't have any experience with it, we definitely recommend trying it out. And if you've already had a chance to test it out, we'd love for you to share it with us (and other potentialand other potential customers) to share your experience in the comments below the review.
