Protein bars can be a great source of protein in situations where you simply can't eat other solid food. However, manufacturers very often use poor quality protein sources (such as calcium caseinate) and poor quality carbohydrate sources in their production.
Therefore, for a protein bar to be able to fulfill its purpose, it must be of high quality. And since Prom-IN is undoubtedly one of the most reliable manufacturers, I decided to give their Pure Bar protein bar a try. But was it really that good? Does it have good ingredients? Which flavor is the best? Find out in the following review.

Top quality raw materials are a given
If there's one thing that sets Essential Pure Bar apart from 99% of competing protein bars, it's the is the great ingredients, achieved through extremely high quality raw materials.
The protein source is only micellar casein and CFM whey concentrate (therefore very good90% of the carbohydrates are represented by soluble prebiotic fibre, which hasa much lowercalorie content compared to other carbohydrates and can also regulate blood glucose levels and improveThe source of fat is almonds, a rich source of magnesium or vitamin E.
In addition to these high quality ingredients , you will find no artificial colours, preservatives or gluten in Essential Pure Bar and only a bare minimum of lactose.
The best flavor? Definitely pistachio!
When it comes to the taste of Pure Bars, you definitely can't expect too many miracles. The bars have a heavily powdery consistency, which may be fine for some people, but for most people it's rather the opposite. On the other hand, the taste is not so terrible that you can't even finish the barThe main thing is the quality of the ingredients and the fact that it will fill you up if you need it.
You can choose from three flavours:
- Pistachio flavour (9.5/10) - Probably the best option from my point of view. This is the only flavor that is colored with seaweed and sweetened with somethingother than stevia (sucralose and neohesperidin), which of course is reflected in the taste. It's a little sweeter than the other flavours, but the taste is really strong. I therefore rate it 9.5 out of 10.
- Vanilla flavour with peanuts (7.5/10) - It is too bland for my taste. The flavor is very similar to Prom-In's vanilla protein, but you won't enjoy the bar much due to the powdery consistency. Therefore, I rate it 7.5 out of 10 points.
- Chocolate Flavor (7.5/10) - Basically the same applies to this as the vanilla flavor. While it is reminiscent of the company's chocolate protein, it doesn't work very well for me due to its powdery consistency. That's why I also rate it 7.5 out of 10.
- The strawberry flavor (8.5/10) is flavored with freeze-dried strawberries and strawberry powder, which really contributes a lot to the taste and smell of this bar. The powder consistency remains the same as the classic variants, as well as the bar is quite hard, for which I have to deduct points. Flavour-wise, I don't have much to complain about, you really do find whole chunks of strawberries in the bar. Most of all, I must appreciate that the flavour remains natural and does not seem artificial, as it might seem at first glance with the strawberry version.
- Chocolate and Coconut (9.0/10) is much lighter in colour than the pure cocoa version and immediately after opening you are surprised by a rather intense coconut aroma. In this case, I was really surprised by the consistency, as the bar was noticeably softer than the strawberry one I tested immediately afterwards. In your mouth, you develop mainly a very intense cocoa flavour, you detect the coconut only minimally, but the bar contains whole pieces of coconut that sometimes remain in your mouth.
Adequate price
For one Pure Bar protein bar you pay , which is of course quite a high price. It is important to note, however, that it only reflects the price of the input ingredients - after all, if the manufacturer used, for example, rapeseed oil instead of almonds, undenatured CFM instead ofwhey protein, for example calcium caseinate, and glucose-fructose syrup instead of soluble fibre, the price could be considerably lower. Again, you have to be willing to pay extra for quality products.
When is it worth investing in it?
From my perspective, a protein bar is not something you invest in for regular consumption. If you can't get the required daily protein intake from diet alone, far preferablymore convenient and therefore cheaper option is whey protein.+
Bars are useful when you really can't eat another solid food or prepare a protein shake. They can be ideal when you are travelling by car for a long time or as a light snack for hiking.

Final assessment
Evaluating protein bars is always harder than it may seem at first glance. Everyone has a completely different idea of what the best protein bar should taste like, what consistency it should have, and how much it should cost. But if you like natural-looking bars and don't mind a bit of workI dare say you will absolutely love Essential Pure Bar.
