The brand Titánus by Aleš Lamka has been taking the market by storm for some time now and has been collecting one positive review after another. In the past, we have already looked at the Titánus Whey CFM 80 protein, which also received a very good rating from us. This time around, we've taken a pre-workout from the brand's repertoire, Rise and Shine. How satisfied were we with it?

A solid formula guaranteed to kick start you

The fate of any supplement depends primarily on its composition. In the case of pre-workouts, manufacturers have a lot of options when choosing the substances used. Rise and Shine is built on a solid foundation, which is also enriched by some less common elements, such as green tea extract. What can you find in one dose of this preworkout?

  • 4,000 mg of L-citrulline - promotes peak performance, reduced muscle soreness and improved blood circulation
  • 3,000 mg of creatine monohydrate - the most widely used form of creatine, enhances performance and momentum, promotes muscle growth
  • 2,500 mg of beta alanine - delays fatigue and is responsible for the typical burning and tingling sensation in the limbs that gets you going
  • 2,000 mg of taurine - involved in countless processes related to energy, involved in the transport of nutrients to muscle cells
  • 750 mg of L-tyrosine - enhances the effect of caffeine
  • 250 mg of vitamin C - the basis for a healthy body
  • 200 mg of caffeine - one of the most widely used stimulants in the world, delays fatigue, gives a feeling of great energy
  • 200 mg of green tea extract - contains caffeine, delays fatigue
  • 30 mg of niacin - a source of caffeine, delays fatigue
  • 10 mg of synephrine - stimulates thermogenesis, promotes fat burning

As such, the ingredients contain very effective substances that definitely do the job expected of them. However, we should also pay attention to the colourings and flavourings, which are often forgotten. In the case of Rise and Shine, all available flavours contain acesulfame K and sodium saccharin. Both of these substances have high harmfulness scores, although they have been shown to be safe to use in small amounts.

The composition of the Rise and Shine pre-workout is definitely solid.

You can't avoid the artificial aftertaste

I had the cherry flavor available for testing. Of all the options available (pineapple, guava and orange next), it seemed like the biggest safe bet. It ended up being a little worse than I had hoped, but it is not a disaster. Taste-wise, Rise and Shine is quite artificial and bitter, but it's not significantly worse compared to the other preworkouts. The big plus, however, is its solubility. It is not a problem to mix it even in a smaller amount of water, thanks to which you can easilyand you can easily kick a few decilitres of a very concentrated drink and you don't really care about the taste.

The effect is second to none

What the composition looks like on paper and what the pre-workout tastes like are together completely useless data if it doesn't work properly. But after trying Rise and Shine, I have to say that it works much better than I expected. One dose was plenty enough to give me a proper kick, but it didn't lack a proper burn, which to be honest, I don't often get with other products. In this respect, I have to rate the aunts positively.

Rise and Shine works really well and definitely fulfills its purpose.

Fair price

One dose of Rise and Shine comes out to just under 18 crowns, which is very affordable. Considering how well it works, I would be willing to pay a little more for it. So the price/performance ratio works out very well. The problem with some pre-workouts is that one dose just doesn't kick you in. In this case, one often resorts to increasing the dosage, but this will negatively affect the price. With Rise and Shine, I didn't have such a need, so it shouldn't be a problem to stay at less than 18 crowns per dose.

Final word

I can't say that Rise and Shine will be my favourite preworkout from now on, but I definitely won't mind if I come across it again. It works very decently and although the taste is rather sub-par, it makes up for it with its affordable price. Ultimately, therefore, I have to rate it positively and highly recommend it to anyone who has considered buying Rise and Shine.
