Perhaps few proteins face such popularity as 100% Whey Protein Professional. And no wonder, in terms of price/quality ratio it comes out very well indeed.
But what is its composition? How do we rate the taste and digestibility? This and much more you will find out in today's review, where we will break down this popular product from Scitec Nutrition in detail.
Content of the review
At the very beginning it remains to add that 100% Whey Professional took second place in our Best Whey Protein Rankings, so although our review will be mainly in a positive spirit, the protein does have some minor flaws.
Ingredients that are not entirely clear
What I found rather disappointing about this protein is the unclear composition. First of all, the manufacturer does not list the whey protein production technology. Given the spectrum of amino acids, one might assume that it is a filtrate, but unfortunately we don't know that for sure.
Secondly, whey isolate is represented in the composition, but again we can only guess at the relative proportions of the two protein sources. However, since it is listed after the sweeteners in the ingredients, it is to be expected that there is not much of it.
Well, the third drawback that is definitely worth mentioning is the use of other added ingredients such as flavourings, acidity regulators, thickeners and colourings.
But not to be too critical, the protein has a great spectrum of amino acids, contains protein fractions of lactoglobulin, lactoferrin, lactalbumin and immunoglobulin and is enriched with digestive enzymes, which is really unusual for a protein in this price category. You will also find added l-glutamine as well as l-leucine, two very essential amino acids that you will appreciate after your workout.
Unfortunately, you have to reckon with a lot of foaminess
When preparing, I must definitely appreciate the very good solubility. Just pour three quarters of a scoop into 250ml of water, shake a few times and the protein was completely lump-free and ready to drink. Unfortunately, what you have to take into account is a rather large foam that forms on the protein and stays for some time.
It didn't affect the taste of the protein at all, but it is still a rather distracting element. I also find the dosage strange as you have to use three quarters of a scoop, not the whole scoop. As a result, if you want to take an exact portion, you have to spend a lot of time measuring.
The taste of strawberry and white chocolate is guaranteed to get you going
Although I'm not a fan of fruity flavours, on foreign portals it had a sovereignThe strawberry and white chocolate variant had the best rating, so I decided to give it a try. And I have to be honest and admit that I was very pleasantly pleased, because this variant definitely doesn't feel overly artificial, as I had originally feared.
The flavour is intense, the strawberry obviously predominates, but you can also detect traces of white chocolate to complement the taste. For me, this is undoubtedly one of the best fruity variants available on the market. Perhaps only the limited edition of Czech Virus - Almond and Orange - does better.
In terms of price/quality ratio, it is unbeatably among the best
From my experience so far, the average price for one dose of whey protein is about . However, if you buy a 5kg pack of Scitec 100% Whey Protein Professional, you will pay only for one dose, which is really unrivalled.
Thanks to the great price/quality ratio, I think this protein is perfect for students who who simply can't afford to invest thousands a month in nutritional supplements.
Final evaluation
If you can survive the higher foaminess and the not completely transparent composition, Scitec 100% Whey Protein Professional has only the positives - unbeatableprice/quality ratio, countless pack sizes, and great flavors that are praised by almost everyone who has ever tasted the protein.
I can't recommend it and if I don't have the opportunity to get new proteins all the timem (which I have thanks to my work for MyFitnessio), Scitec 100% Whey Professional would be the obvious choice for me.
