Anchovy, also known as tribulus terrestris, is not new to the field of sports supplements. It is very popular in connection with various testosterone stimulants, as it is said to promote the production of this hormone. However, as we discussed in our article Tribulus Under Scrutiny, this effect is hardly seen in healthy and young men. Still, anemone has many different health benefits and its supplementation can definitely make sense. Therefore, in our review today we will look at Vilgain Tribulus Terrestris, which boasts an exceptionally high content of the active substance protodioscin. How satisfied were we with it?
Content of the review
Honest and transparent composition
As for the composition itself, there is not much to evaluate in this case. Each cellulose capsule contains only an anemone extract and an anti-caking agent. This is of course a good thing, because in a product like this, any additives are only a detriment. But it is worth mentioning the content of the active substance protodioscin. It is this that is behind most of the positive effects of tribulus. Protodioscin belongs to a group of substances called saponins. These have quite a wide range of beneficial effects on the body, but none are as effective as protodioscin. Thus, one could say that the effectiveness of tribulus depends on how much protodioscin it contains. And in this respect, tribulus from the brand Vilgain performs very well.
While most competing products do not provide information on protodioscin content at all or limit themselves toonly information on the total saponin content, Vilgain transparently discloses the exact content of this active ingredient. This is a big plus, as one can be sure that one is taking something that makes sense. There is no such thing as an anchor cordial. Many products contain much smaller amounts of the active ingredient, which is also why each tribulus can have a different effect.
How to dose tribulus terrestris?
Taking tribulus is not rocket science. The standard dosage is 2 capsules, which should be properly washed down with water. The increased dose consists of a total of 4 capsules per day, which can be taken either at the same time or consecutively. Recommendations on taking tribulus are not settled, so it is impossible to say exactly how high a dose is ideal. For this reason, I recommend following the manufacturer's recommendations and starting at the standard dose. If, after a while, you find that you don't feel any effect, try an increased dose. One pack will last for 45 days at the standard dosage.
The effects are very subjective
Before you decide to take tribulus, remember that everyone may perceive its effects differently. Although tribulus doesn't affect testosterone levels as it is often said to, it still offers a number of health benefits. However, its manifestations are very subjective. One of the biggest benefits of tribulus is reducing feelings of fatigue or increasing feelings of energy. However, a large number of factors play a major role in this area, and therefore it is impossible to say objectively to what extent the extent to which any positive effect in this regard is due to tribulus supplementation.Similarly, any positive effect on testosterone levels is more likely to occur in older people whowhile a young person will not notice any difference.
The big advantage of anchorage is the fact that if you really don't survive with its useyou don't have to worry about any unpleasant side effects. For this reason, you don't have to worry about any digestive problems either, as we haven't noticed any problems in terms of digestibility.
The price could be lower
While Vilgain's Tribulus earned praise from us for its quality and transparent formula, we won't be so positive when evaluating the price. It's completely understandable that quality supplements are more expensive than their lower quality alternatives. In this case, however, the manufacturer has overestimated the price. Compared to competing products, you will sometimes pay double the amount for Vilgain Tribulus Terrestris. To some extent, the high price is justified, but the resulting price-quality ratio is not as good as it might seem at first glance.
For whom is tribulus suitable?
Finally, the question of who this supplement is actually suitable for needs to be answered. Generally speaking, older men who have lower testosterone levels can benefit from tribulus. Equally, it can help both men and women with libido support or lack of energy. Thus, it could be said that tribulus is also particularly suitable for people suffering from excess stress. But if you're looking for a supplement that will miraculously boost your testosterone levels, you're in the wrong place. Tribulus is no magic herb and its effects are often overstated in the media.
Summary at the end
Vilgain Tribulus Terrestris is a high quality supplement containing an anchovy and a high proportion of the active ingredient protodioscin. In terms of composition, there is nothing to fault it, on the contrary, we must appreciate the great transparency. However, compared to competing products, it is quite expensive, so it may not suit everyone. If you have realistic expectations from tribulus and do not mind paying extra for quality supplements, we can highly recommend it.
For today's review, that's all from us. But we'd love it if you'd share your tribulus experience with us in the comments.
