The Xiaomi Amazit Bip is a smartwatch that offers many great features at a very affordable price. Now I have been testing it for over a week and let's talk about my personal experience and what I like most about the watch.
Content of the review
Let's start first with the packaging of the watch itself, which looks quite decent.
Inside the package we find the watch itself, a manual in English and a cradle for charging. But as we'll mention later, you almost won't need it, because the watch lasts a hell of a long time charged.
Display
The watch has a 1.28-inch display that will offer a resolution of 176 by 176 pixels. This is a touchscreen LCD display, which as you can see, is easy to read even in direct sunlight. Moreover, it still shows us the current time and the number of steps walked.
The curvature of the display itself is 2.5D, and so it is similar in design to the popular Apple Watch, while it is Gorilla Glass 3, which is something that will last. Moreover, the rectangular shape of the display looks very sporty and modern. To make sure you can also look at the watch at night, it offers a backlight display that you activate with the watch crown.

Design and execution
The Amazfit Bip is very lightweight, weighing just 31 grams, making it easy to forget you even have a watch. In fact, it weighs more than half as much as, for example, the Zeblaze Vibe 3 watch I reviewed in the last video. The low weight is redeemed by the fact that the watch is made entirely of plastic, yet the craftsmanship is top notch.
On the side of the watch we find one inconspicuous button that can only be pressed, spinning it does not provide any function. The big advantage is that the Amazit Bip offers IP68 certification, so it is water and dust resistant and with this certification you can even go swimming. The watch also has an accelerometer and a built-in GPS module. The latter has an accuracy of plus or minus 7 meters, which is definitely not bad at all, quite the contrary. You can also catch the signal quite quickly in dense traffic, for which Xiaomi has a lot of praise.
On the back, of course, there is a heart rate sensor, which measures your heart rate not only during sports activities. Underneath, we find 2 connectors for charging. You can choose from four colours - black, white, green and orange. Then of course the watch band is also replaceable, so if it wears out over time, you can buy a new one for a few crowns from Chinese stores.

Watch interface
Let's go into a little more detail about the watch's interface and what features it offers. From the home page, swiping down takes us to the Do Not Disturb mode and swiping up takes us to the notification manager from the paired phone.
Moving to the left from the home page, this is where we find the Alipay app by default, but you can use the app to switch to the current weather, which is definitely more interesting.
Moving to the right we then find:
- Status, which informs us of steps walked, heart rate and much more.
- Activities, where we can choose whether we're just going for a run, a bike ride or just walking. All the data about the last sport is stored in our watch history and completely all the data is stored in the app on our phone.
- Weather, which draws data from the phone.
- Alarm clock, which you can also set using the app.
- Stopwatch
- A compass, which you can use to see, for example, the current altitude above sea level, altitude pressure, etc.
- Settings, in which you can choose a new style of face, set a preset for long pressing the button on the side of the watch, e.g. To start an activity, adjust the brightness of the display and a few other basic things (factory settings, turn off the watch, etc.)
I have to admit that the touchscreen is very responsive and accurate, so the Amazfit Bip has a big plus for this. I recommend watching my video review:
Connecting to your phone
Bluetooth 4.0 is used to connect the watch to your phone, and the watch pairs with Android 4.4 and above, or iOS 8.0 and above, so with almost any device. In order to pair the watch and your phone, you'll need to install the Mi Fit app, which you can throw into English. Then all you have to do is add a new device in the app, turn on the Find Device feature on your watch, and it'll pair in no time.
Let's take a look at the best features you can do with the watch once paired:
- Receive notifications - Once paired, you'll get all the notifications that pop up on your phone on your watch. So email, Instagram notifications, etc.
- You can get other watch face designs through the app
- You can set an Activity goal, i.e. how many steps you'd like to walk each day, and the app will then notify you if you've made it or not.
- A great overview of all the activities where the watch also shows you the route you ran, how many calories you burned, etc. Plus, you can share all this with your friends and heckle each other too. I really like this.
- And lots of other little things like being able to set an alarm on your watch , change the city to draw data from for weather, sleep tracking, etc.

Batteries
The battery offers 190 mAh capacity and a hell of a long charge life. Personally, I always get something like 3 to 4% out of my watch in a day, and that's with the heart rate monitor on and GPS on during activity. So there's no problem getting up to a month of endurance, which is huge difference from my current Ticwatch 2, which I have to charge every day.
When you run out of juice after a month, you simply plug the watch into the charging cradle and it charges back up to full within an hour and a half. Well, just beautiful, that's where the Amazfit Bip really surprised me.

Price and where to buy cheapest
The watch can be bought in the Czech Republic from , or 65 euros. For a slightly lower price, they are sold on AliExpress.
Conclusion
For such a low price, the watch offers countless features, especially GPS, which is not common in this price range. It may not be on par with the Apple Watch, but if you are looking for a cheap smartwatch alternative, the Xiaomi Amazfit Bip will definitely suffice with very similar features.
If you have any questions about the watch, feel free to ask me in the comments below, I'll be happy to answer anything. Likewise, if anyone has this watch, let me know how satisfied you are with it.
