In addition to the usual whey protein concentrate, there are other forms of protein. The differences in sugar/fat or protein content are the result of the respective filtration processes in production. Here, the accompanying substances or residues of the different forms of the respective protein type may also be filtered out.
The so-called ultrafiltration process produces whey protein isolate.
The isolate is best known for its lower sugar and fat content as well as its higher protein content. The ultrafiltration process also filters out the last remnants of lactose, resulting in much better compatibility. This is exactly why isolate is often chosen by lactose intolerant customers.
It is one of the rarer types of isolate, namely those whose consistency sleepsresembles fruit juice, iced tea or other soft drinks. The values do not have to be hidden at all.
The protein content per 100g is a whopping 82-84g with less than 0.5g of sugar and 0.2g of fat. It's a tasty and refreshing sensation, whether as a welcome break from the usualor as a cool and fruity rescue for athletes on a diet.
