GarCitrin® is a product with a standardized content of Garcinia Cambogia extract. Garcinia is a shrub that grows in Southeast Asia. In this region of the world, this fruit, which could be compared to a small gourd, is used for cooking because of its properties and health benefits. Garcinia Cambogia has also been commonly found in India for many centuries, where it is used as a fruit or spice in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. In traditional medicine, a decoction of the fruit bark is used for rheumatism and intestinal problems such as helminthiasis and dysentery.
Research shows that it has significant positive effects in a number of areas. Garcinia has been used for centuries in South Asia as a fruit, spice and to induce a feeling of satiety. An important component of garcinia cambogia is hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which has a positive effect on carbohydrate metabolism from the diet into storage glycogen and glucose, the increased concentration of which causes the brain to feel satiated.
