Pentha Pro® is a protein drink consisting of a blend of five different protein sources.
We often see the opinion that the fastest digesting protein, most often thought of as aa type of whey protein, is automatically considered the best overall. Many athletes perceive the imaginary equation "fast" = best for building muscle mass. In the sense of this logic, we hear another statement: 'after training, only hydrolysate, and only hydrolysed to the highest degree'.
Have you noticed this too? Is this statement true? For certain types of sports it undoubtedly is, but it is certainly not true for all. We need to be aware of what we are supplementing for, what type of sporting activity we are doing, at what intensity, and most importantly, what our goal is!
Probably not. If our goal is to build muscle and burn fat at the same time, will whey protein alone offer us the maximum? In light of research and practice, we find that probably not. Whey protein is undoubtedly a great dietary supplement that has a number of health benefits, supports proteosynthesis very effectively and plays a major role in its stimulation. Whey protein hydrolysate, like other hydrolysed proteins, in turn helps rapid recovery. In combined strength sports (crossfit, sprints, throws,..) allows for more frequent training and thus increased performance, and for allergy sufferers it provides quality amino acids without the risk of digestive problems.
But are whey proteins alone the ideal choice when you want to maximise muscle mass? Probably not.
On the contrary, it turns out that supplementing a "fast" whey protein with so-called "fast" whey protein is not the best way to increase muscle mass. The fact that some athletes consider the "slow" protein represented by casein to offer a number of benefitsThis type of protein is only suitable for use before bedtime or during the day in long breaks between meals. However, a growing number of studies show that the combination of "fast" whey protein and slow-digesting casein in its undenatured form is more effective in promoting muscle growth thanmany times more effective, and the use of such a mixture finds especially in the period shortly after training load. If we add a moderately fast digesting protein, we get the so-called ideal mixture.
REVIEW: How do we rate the multi-ingredient protein Pentha Pro?
Let's focus now on two serious research studies. One of the first focused on the combination of whey and casein and took place at Baylor University in Texas.
Two groups of athletes completed an identical, 10-week training program aimed at increasing muscle mass. One group took a combination of whey protein and micellar casein, the other took whey protein alone.
The result was an average increase in muscle mass of two kilograms in the first group, whereas the second group showed no measurable increase. There was a slight reduction in fat in both groups. Why this is so, a second study by the famous Mayo Clinic will help us understand. They looked at protein absorption and concluded that the rapid absorption of wheyof whey protein, which allows for an immediate supply of amino acids to the muscle, is also its greatest weakness.
Whey protein will cause a very rapid increase in muscle protein synthesis followed by a fairly substantial drop. Research has shown that the addition of micellar casein to whey will allow for a sustainedmuscle amino acid levels stable and thus contribute to a much greater increase in muscle mass. This clearly shows that if we want to maximize our gains, combining whey protein with a quality source of casein is more than beneficial.
New evidence shows that the addition of protein can also give us an advantage, complementing the overall amino spectrum. Let's talk some more about the studies of so-called blends, or mixtures of several protein sources. We will focus on two fairly large studies.
The first was published in the Journal of Nutrition and examined the effect on protein synthesis over time. It compared a protein blend composed of whey protein isolate, an isolatesoy protein and micellar casein versus whey protein isolate alone. The results of the research are not surprising after the previous paragraph. Both the whey and the protein blend increased protein synthesis similarly, but the blendprotein mixture maintained increased proteosynthesis over a longer period of time.
For the 2014 follow-up study, the same supplement parameters were used, i.e., protein supplement consumption was reciprocatedt immediately after training, and its results, published in the Journal of Applied Physiology, speak clearly in favour of the blend. The blend resulted in significantly better absorption and utilization of amino acids compared to whey alone. Simply put, using a mixture of fast digesting whey protein, slow digesting casein, and a protein with a moderate rate of digestionwhich in this case was represented by soya isolate, is more advantageous in terms of muscle growth than using whey protein alone.

Yes, PROM-IN® keeps up with the times, or we respect serious research. At PROM-IN® we constantly follow the latest research and trends in nutrition in order to offer our customers the best. That is why we decided to create a specific protein blend and that is why PENTHA PRO® was created. The aim is to have the most effective combination possible, taking into account current studies and actually proven effects.
The base of the blend is still native whey protein, which represents the best source of amino acids for muscle growth. This base is built on a high quality concentrate and isolate, both processed using the gentle CFM method. Fast sources of protein in its native form are complemented by the addition of OPTIPEP® branded whey peptides. Their advantage is primarily to stimulate protein digestion, not rapid absorption as many believe. This is a weakness in terms of muscle growth. We have adjusted the dosage of these peptides to take advantage of both the natural anabolic action of native protein sources and at the same time take advantage of the benefit of digestion support.
The fast protein sources are complemented by the main anabolic component, which is a high quality milk isolatemilk protein, as a natural source of micellar casein (slow protein), as well as native whey protein. The ratio of whey protein to casein in the product is 2:1, which corresponds to the ideal for excellent absorption and maximum stimulation of anabolism.
The whole mixture is complemented by egg white isolate, which represents medium-fast proteins, and byAbove all, it perfectly complements the total amino acid spectrum while reducing the insulin response.
