Detailed comparison of earthnut creams

1. LifeLike Peanut Cream

LifeLike Peanut Cream

In our opinion, the best peanut butter on the market is LifeLike's peanut cream. The butter is made right here in the Czech Republic and you won't find anything but roasted peanuts in it.

No palm oil, no added sugar and no salt. Well, when you add to these benefits a good price, you get a butter that is second to none.

Highlights
Benefits:
  • Butter made in the Czech Republic
  • Rich in protein, fat and fibre
  • Contains only roasted peanuts
  • Good price
  • Great taste
  • Available in two different packs - 300g and 1000g
Disadvantages:
  • We did not find
Summary
How the butter tasted:

LifeLike peanut butter tasted exactly how peanut butter should taste. The bold and full flavor was accompanied by a great consistency, making it no problem at all to spread this peanutpeanut butter cream on whole wheat or plain bread, or use it in smoothies or post-workout shakes.

When I used it in various no-bake recipes and then put it in the fridge, it set beautifully. If you're looking for a peanut butter that will absolutely delight your taste buds, LifeLike is the obvious choice.

Who makes the butter:

LifeLike is the family business of Libor Mačalík and his wife, Vendula, who have found our market lacking in quality butters.

This company combines quality, honesty and above all freshness, which is why you will find in the repertoire of this company not only peanutbut also many other nut butters, often combined with coconut or delicious chocolate.

Final rating:

I was really impressed with LifeLike butter. When it arrived to me, there was oil settled on top, indicating that the manufacturer did not use any stabilizers. I found the taste to be very good, adding it to various smoothies, porridges and post-workout shakes.

While you may argue that there are cheaper butters out there, with LifeLike you are 100% sure of the quality.

2. Lucky Alvin Peanut Butter

Lucky Alvin Peanut Butter

The second place in our ranking is again occupied by a product made in the Czech Republic. Lucky Alvin combines a 100% peanut content, a delicious and unmistakable taste, which, combined with the ratio ofAlvin Alvin, with its combination of good taste and quality, definitely deserves a place in our peanut cream comparison.

main points
Advantages:
  • Made in the Czech Republic
  • Contains 100% peanuts
  • Free of palm oil, preservatives and stabilizers
  • Unmistakable taste
Disadvantages:
  • Only available in 40g and 330g packs
  • Higher price per kg compared to competitors
Summary
How the butter tasted:

Like the winner of our best butters comparison, Lucky Alvin has produced a really great product that you will love. The peanut flavour is quite strong and if you are not used to it, you may not like the butter very much. In that case, I recommend the peanut and chocolate combination that Lucky Alvin also makes, which is unrivalled in terms of taste.

Again, the consistency is beautifully creamy and smooth, so it's no problem spreading the butter, as well as adding it to smoothies or recipes.

Who makes the butter:

Lucky Alvin is a Czech company that makes peanut butters that are extremely popular in America. The only difference is that you won't find any low-quality ingredients, solidified fats, added salt, stabilizers or flavorings in these butters. All the products of this company are based on quality and purity, you can choose from 100% butters, butters with Belgian chocolate, or "sugarfree" variants.

Final rating:

Lucky Alvin is another excellent peanut butter from a Czech producer. This time, unfortunately, I consider the unavailability in a kilo pack to be a slight disadvantage, because the peanutI have quite a large consumption of peanut butter, so I don't want to buy it in 330g packs. Surely every manufacturer should offer small packs, because not everynot everyone is able to eat that much butter, however, the large one is the only advantage.

On the other hand , I must praise Lucky Alvin for not using unnecessary plastic, all butters are in glass. But this translates logically into a higher price when budgeted per 1kg.

3. Big Boy Peanut Cream

Big Boy Peanut Cream

The third place in our ranking belongs to the peanut cream from the Czech company Big Boy Butter, which offers a wide range of nut butters with chocolate, strawberries, coconut and other incredibly delicious products.

This butter is made entirely from peanuts and you won't find any dyes, preservatives, flavourings or other additives.

main points
Benefits:
  • Made in the Czech Republic
  • Contains nothing but peanuts
  • Available in two different pack sizes - 250g and 550g
  • Excellent taste
Disadvantages:
  • Higher price per 1kg compared to competitors
Summary
How the butter tasted:

Big Boy peanut butter cream impressed me taste-wise, althoughI found its taste a little sweeter than competing butters. This is in no way due to any added sugar, which the manufacturer has concealed, but it's probably due to the different origins of the peanuts.

In terms of flavour, the butter is definitely one of the best, it doesn't completely solidify in the fridge either, and it spreads well at all times.

Who makes the butter:

This peanut cream is made by the popular Czech company Big Boy Butter, which specializes not only in peanutpeanut butters, but also protein bars, freeze-dried fruit, and whole nuts for sale.

The company prides itself on quality, keeping stock to a minimum and producing most of its butters up to in response to an order, so you can be 100% sure of the freshness and quality of the butter you order.

Final rating:

Another very hilarious butter that has absolutely nothing to complain about apart from the higher price. Since this company does not offer a kilo pack, when you calculate the price per 1 kg, you end up with a higher price. On the other hand, Big Boy Butter doesn't use any unnecessary plastics, which we like.

4. Vilgain Peanut Butter BIO

Vilgain Peanut Butter BIO

Next up was Peanut Butter BIO from Vilgain, which was formerly known as Aktin. The advantage of this butter, besides its 100% pure composition, is the organic quality usedof the peanuts used, which gives the butter a much fuller flavour. Hand in hand with the quality, however, is a slightly higher price.

MAIN POINTS
Benefits:
  • 100% peanut content
  • Czech producer
  • No added substances
  • Organic quality
Disadvantages:
  • Higher price
SUMMARY
How we liked the butter:

Vilgain's peanut butter definitely did not disappoint us in terms of taste. The mild version in particular tastes absolutely delicious, and you can definitely tell that the manufacturer has switched to a different type of peanut. However, if you've tasted the original crunchy version in the past, after trying the new version you'll probably notice that it contains far fewer pieces of peanuts. I consider this to be a rather unfortunate decision with the crunchy version, although the butter is still delicious in terms of flavour.

Who makes the butter:

I wrote in the introduction that many people are more familiar with the brand Vilgain under the name Aktin. This is due to the company's rebranding due to expansion abroad, but despite the new name, all of the brand's products retain the quality you've long come to expect. Today, Aktin is one of the most popular manufacturers and distributors of sports supplements in the Czech Republic.

Final evaluation:

Vilgain Peanut Butter BIO is the perfect choice for anyone looking for a truly high quality peanut butter for any purpose. It's never easy to objectively evaluate the taste, but our experience along with hundreds of positive reviews can definitely be taken as a good indicator that you'll definitely find your way with this butter.

5. Czech Virus Peanut Butter

Czech Virus Peanut Butter

This peanut butter is produced by the well-known company Czech Virus, which, in addition to the "ordinary" peanut butter, haspeanut butter produces especially well-known combinations of nuts, protein and chocolate, which we have also fallen in love with in our editorial office.

But this butter also has 100% peanut content, tastes very good and is also reasonably priced.

Highlights
Pros:
  • 100% peanut content
  • Made in Brno
  • No added substances, salt or sugar
  • Great taste
Disadvantages:
  • 1 kg pack size only
Summary
How the butter tasted:

The peanut butter from Czech Virus tasted absolutely fabulous. The flavour is mild and the consistency is beautifully creamy, so it spreads very well on, for example, wholemeal bread. The flavour is also full and completely natural, so you can tell that the butter has not been sweetened or flavoured in any way.

Compared to the competition, I have to say that it doesn't settle too much oil on the surface, so you don't have to stir every time you use it.

Who makes the butter:

Peanut butter is produced by the well-known company Czech Virus, which is famous for the controversial bodybuilder Filip Grznár and his former sparring partner Pavel Beran. Since 2012, when the first idea was born in the minds of the creators, the company has been based on quality products without unnecessary chemistry.

Among the sponsored athletes, besides Filip and Pavel, there are also Aleš Bursa and Jiří Tkadlčík. All raw materials used by Czech Virus in the production of its products originate in the EU.

Final evaluation:

Czech Virus has once again produced a very good butter, which is very good value for money for the company, tastes great and at the same time hasYou are guaranteed the best possible quality ingredients, because Czech Virus does not use any cheap substitutes.

I definitely consider the lack of a smaller package to be a minor drawback, if you have never eaten peanut butter or just don't have the consumption, it is pointless to buy a 1000g pack. Otherwise, I definitely recommend the butter.

6. MyProtein Peanut Butter

MyProtein Peanut Butter

Fifth place in our ranking belongs to the popular butter from MyProtein. It has a very pleasant price, which makes it one of the cheapest butter on the market, but at the same time it keepsall the quality, the manufacturer does not use any fillers, flavourings or other added substances.

More than a good price-taste ratio makes this butter the best choice for example for students or athletes who cannot afford to invest their entire paycheck in supplements.

main points
Benefits:
  • 100% peanut content
  • One of the cheapest butters on the market
  • High quality
Disadvantages:
  • Only available in 1000g packs
Summary
How the butter tasted:

To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about this butter at first, but after tasting it, I changed my mind.

I liked the butter, but I have to admit that compared to previous products in this ranking, the taste was not as pronounced. The consistency is very good, you can spread it on wholemeal bread, for example, as well as use it in cooking or in various porridges.

Who makes the butter:

MyProtein is a supplement brand that originated in the UK. Since its inception, the company has collected various awards and the goods have expanded to America and other continents. And it certainly has no small ambitions - it wants to be the world's largest supplement manufacturer by 2020.

What's also interesting is the way it creates quality products at a minimal price: It invests most of its revenue in automating production, which later brings lower production costs.

Final assessment:

I dare say that Myprotein's peanut butter is popular quite rightly. Although its taste is not the most distinctive, it still combines low price and high quality very well. If you are a peanut butter lover but don't want to to invest unnecessary amounts of money in food supplements, definitely choose Peanut Butter from Myprotein.

7. Bulk Powders Peanut Butter

Bulk Powders Peanut Butter

The sixth position belongs to another product originating in the British Isles. This time it's a butter from Bulk Powders, which is not well knowncompany that has only recently been making its mark on the market.

This butter has a very good taste, 100% peanut content and therefore no additives and last but not least Last but not least, its low price, which is almost comparable to the MyProtein butter above.

main points
Advantages:
  • 100% peanut content
  • Great price
  • Good taste
Disadvantages:
  • Only a kilo pack
Summary
How the butter tasted:

Bulk Powders' peanut butter has a full flavor and a beautifully creamy consistency that makes it easy to spread.

It's darker than, for example, Czech Virus' butter, which may be due todue to the use of peanuts with the skin, but this information is not confirmed by the manufacturer anywhere on its website. If peanut butter is left unnoticed for some time, it will create a layer of oil on the surface, but then all you have to do is stir it and it's back to its original consistency.

Who makes the butter:

This butter is made by Bulk Powders, a certified sports nutrition manufacturer from the UK. In this brand's repertoire you can find all products without unnecessary chemicals, dyes and other artificial additives.

The quality of the company is evidenced, for example, by the fact that the whey used to make the protein comes from comes from cow farms in EU countries where cows can graze freely on pasture and are therefore grass-fed.

Final rating:

I would put Os Bulk Powders peanut butter on roughly the same level as Myprotein's peanut butter. It has perhaps a slightly stiffer consistency, as a result of which it can goHowever, this is not an extremely big problem.

What I find interesting is that even after a few days, no oil settles on the surface, which is definitely a big plus for most consumers. If you are looking for good value for money, I definitely recommend this butter.

8. TPW Peanut Butter

TPW Peanut Butter

Seventh place in our ranking goes to peanut butter from the popular company The Protein Works, which is based in England.

This cream has 100% peanut content and you won't find any added sugar or salt. It is a very good source of protein, fat and carbohydrates that can keep you full for a long time.

main points
Benefits:
  • Good price
  • 100% peanut content
  • Contains no added substances
Disadvantages:
  • Only 1000g pack
  • Stiffer consistency
Summary
How the butter tasted:

I found TPW's butter to be quite stiff compared to other products, it didn't spread as well as, for example, the butter from Czech Virus. Therefore, I used it more in various recipes and breakfast porridges, as the heat changed its consistency.

But the taste itself is full and natural, there are no artificial substances, so I definitely recommend the butter.

Who makes the butter:

This peanut butter is made by a relatively new British company called The Protein Works, which was founded in 2012 and has Since then , it has been producing innovative nutritional supplements that have won dozens of different awards each year. They base their supplements primarily on quality, but at the same time price is also very important to them so that everyone can afford similar supplements.

Final rating:

TPW has come to the market with a very tasty butter that stands out for its good price and full flavor. Unfortunately, there is a downside to only one pack size, if you don't want the whole 1000g, you're simply out of luck.

Also the consistency is not very good, the butter is more suited for cooking and baking than for regular consumption.

Main points
Benefits:
  • Contains only peanuts
  • You won't find any trans fats or added substances
  • Good price
Disadvantages:
  • Only available in 900g packs
Summary
How the butter tasted:

There is not much to fault with the Fitness Authority butter. It's easy to spread, tastes completely natural and, as with previous butters, you'll develop a complete addiction to it without blinking an eye. In terms of consistency it was perfect, neither too runny nor too thick- it goes great with everything.

Who makes the butter:

This delicious peanut butter is made by Fitness Authority, whose supplements are designed bydesigned by the best experts in nutrition, food, packaging technology, legislation and pharmaceuticals.

In the Czech Republic, this brand is best known for its Xtreme Napalm Pre-Contest pre-workout, which its composition demolishes its competitors, but definitely has much more to offer. In the company's repertoire you can find proteins, amino acids, delicious peanut butters and brutal pre-workouts.

Final rating:

Fitness Authority's peanut butter is definitely a good choice, if only for its great taste. The slight downside is the somewhat stiffer consistency compared to the competition, but it still spreads well. Unfortunately, the butter is only available in a 900g pack, which is smaller than mostThe butter still works out well in terms of price per kg. I can therefore only recommend it.

10. Sizeandsymmetry Peanut Butter

Sizeandsymmetry Peanut Butter

The ninth place in our testing of the best peanut butters belongs to a product that is designed for true gourmets. This time, Sizeandsymmetry has come up with a product that is unrivalled in terms of taste and contains only quality ingredients.

This butter is made up of 81% peanuts, the rest is made up of only bee honey, coconut oil and premium cocoa with reduced fat content.

main points
Benefits:
  • Extremely tasty butter
  • Contains only high quality ingredients that deliver great taste
  • No added salt, preservatives or oils
  • Minimal simple sugars
Disadvantages:
  • Relatively high price compared to unflavored butters
  • More caloric than 100% peanut butter
Summary
How the butter tasted:

We included SizeAndSymmetry's peanut butter in our ranking in caseIf you don't like the distinct taste of peanuts, but still want to try a butter like this. By adding honey, coconut oil and cocoa, the peanut flavor is partially suppressed and the butter gets a very good taste. In terms of consistency, I found it a little too runny; if you spread it on baked goods, it may melt. I therefore recommend adding it more to yogurt or post-workout smoothies.

Who makes the butter:

Sizeandsymmetry Body Sport Nutrition is an up-and-coming German supplement company. Although it has only been in the sports supplement market for a short time (since 2013 to be precise), it is a very promising company that is striving to create high-quality supplements that meet the high expectations of professional athletes.

Final rating:

If you don't like the taste of peanut butter on its own, we definitely recommend giving this product a try. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay a little extra for this butter.

11. GymBeam Peanut Butter

GymBeam Peanut Butter

Although usually GymBeam products do not reach the position in our best supplements lists, this time they deserve a place.

This is because it is a very cheap peanut butter that still contains only peanutsso you won't find any palm fat or other cheap substitutes or added ingredients. On the other hand, the manufacturer also uses the skins, so the butter is quite dark and its taste is quite specific compared to other butters.

main points
Advantages:
  • Unbeatably low price
  • 100% peanut content
  • No chemicals or added additives
Disadvantages:
  • Use of husks in production
  • Bitter taste
Summary
How the butter tasted:

GymBeam's peanut butter didn't impress me much taste-wise. It is darker than the others, probably due to the use of the skins, and it also tastes distinctly bitter. The oil deposited on the surface had a rather interesting color and consistency that I haven't seen in any other butter. The butter itself was then quite stiff and harder to spread.

Who makes the butter:

GymBeam is a company that manufactures and e-sells nutritional supplements, fitness apparel, and workout accessories. GymMyBeauty is a brand of gym products and products that are used to create and sell gym products, and to provide a range of products and services for the health and fitness industry. GymBeam is also a manufacturer and retailer of its own brand of nutritional supplements.

Today their offer includes proteins from various sources, fat burners, amino acids and BCAAs, even vitamins, minerals and the latestIt also includes fitness food, snacks and superfoods such as peanut butters, chia seeds, quinoa and many more.

Final rating:

A fairly specific and frankly not very tasty butter, but one that will still find its followers. I consider the main benefit for most people to be the low price and the use of only peanuts, which I think is essential. I would definitely not buy peanut butters that contain ingredients other than peanuts.

Can I make peanut butter at home?

A very common question that regularly appears in various groupsgroups on social media is whether you can make peanut butter at home. And of course, it's very simple - all you need is a powerful mixer, a spatula and a lot of patience. Just blend the peanuts and once in a while you can use the spatula to wipe off the edges of the container and continue blending. You can flavour the butter to your taste, for example you can add a tablespoon of sunflower oil, a little unflavouredprotein ( Alavis, which we recently reviewed, is a great example), or your favourite dark chocolate. If you want to achieve a stronger flavour, just roast the peanuts in a pan for a while before blending.

Honestly, it takes quite a bit of time to make, and is therefore not worth it from my perspective. The price for peanut butter is not that much higher than the price for peanutand you save your time for more useful things. But you can definitely give it a try.

How often to eat peanut butter?

The answer to the question of how often to eat peanut butter is not at all simple. The phosphorus content is often mentioned in connection with nuts , which can of course be harmful in higher quantities. However, peanuts are not nuts but legumes. This eliminates the excess of this toxic trace element, but peanut consumption has other pitfalls. First and foremost is the high content of omega 6 fatty acids. This is not harmful to the human body only as long as it is in the right proportion with omega 3. According to expert websites, the optimal ratio between the acids should be roughly 1:4 in favour of omega 6, but the Mediterranean diet contains a shocking 1:16. So if you want to consume peanut butter on a regular basis, it is definitely more than advisable to supplement with omega 3 as well.

The recommended dose is then defined by many other factors (caloric intake, mineral and vitamin supplementation, etc.), but personally I would not recommend consuming more than 1-2 tablespoons per day.

Are nut butters healthier?

You have probably noticed that besides peanut butter, there are also various nut butters on the market (almond, cashew,...), which usually have a slightly higher price. But are they healthier? This issue would be enough for a whole article, so let's briefly present only the most important comparisons:

Vitamin, mineral and trace element content

When it comes to micronutrient content, nut butters are quite different from peanut butters. While peanuts are mainly rich in B vitamins, antioxidants, iron or zinc, for example, the different types of nuts are different from peanuts.peanuts in particular contain high amounts of highly usable calcium, potassium, sulphur, phosphorus and magnesium. Although some nutrients are of course the same, some vitamins, minerals and trace elements are not the same vary widely from one variety of butter to the next, so I would recommend rotating all the different types of butter regularly.

Digestibility

As mentioned above, peanuts are not nuts but legumes. And with that comes a somewhat poorer digestibility, which can cause stomach problems and bloating if consumed in excess. This is not to say, of course, that overeating nut butters is good for digestion pleasant, but my personal experience shows that the digestion of e.g. In my experience of digesting almond butter, it is far better than peanut butter. In both cases, however, you have to be careful about over-consumption.

Antinutrients

Both nuts and peanuts contain relatively high levels of substances that can inhibit the proper use of minerals and vitamins in our bodies. These substances are collectively referred to as antinutrients, and in the case of legumes specifically, these are phytates, saponins, alpha-galactosides and lectins. But lest you get the impression that nuts don't contain these substances, you will also find phytic acid and oxalic acid.

This is not a reason to avoid nut or peanut butters, but you should definitely not overdo it.

So which peanut butter to choose?

As you've probably noticed in today's ranking, there are dozens of different butters on the market. We personally recommend buying only 100% peanut butter, which we also included in our comparison. Otherwise, you will buy butter that contains palm oil, is sweetened, salted and in many cases contains various flavourings or stabilisers. But if you choose any of the options in our ranking, you can't go wrong.

What ingredients should peanut butter contain?

Peanut butter should ideally contain only ground peanuts. Depending on how the peanuts are ground, we distinguish between crunchy and smooth butters, both of which should contain one and only one ingredient, namely roasted peanuts.

Good quality butters, such as those in our comparison today, therefore contain nothing but peanuts. In contrast, poor quality products often mask the substandard taste of poor quality peanuts byby containing, for example, a large portion of simple sugars, salt, various preservatives or even palm oil. While this may improve the taste and consistency of the butter, it is clear that such butter suddenly starts to contain unnecessary extra calories.

When choosing peanut butter, we therefore recommend that you prefer a purer formulation to unnecessary additives. However, if you are tempted to try peanut butters with extra chocolate or other additives, we definitely recommend checking out our ranking of the best peanut butters with good ingredients.

Of the products that have caught our eye recently and which we think are also worth a try, the following are worth a try KetoDiet's excellent protein butters or Vilgain's Hazelnut Cocoa Spread.

Peanut butter and getting fat

Very often you can also find the opinion that peanut butter makes you fat. However, this needs to be set straight, as we did in our separate article on this topic. Whether you get fat, lose weight or maintain your current weight is primarily determined by your calorie intake.calorie intake and calorie expenditure, which we also explained in more detail in our article entitled Does Calorie Counting Work? So if you eat peanut butter wisely, you definitely don't have to worry about getting fat. It is worth noting, however, that peanut butter is a relatively calorie-dense food, so it is certainly not advisable to eat it in large quantities.
