Detailed analysis of the best pre-workouts without stimulants

1. Prom-IN Serious PRE

Prom-IN Serious PRE

The first place in our comparison of the best stimulant-free pre-workouts was taken by Serious PRE from Prom-in. In this case, there was nothing to think about, because Serious PRE has a truly perfect compositionformula, which contains a total of 16 active ingredients, and has long been among the absolute top in its category.

Benefits:

  • Sophisticated formulation
  • High dose of all active ingredients
  • Perfect effect
  • Up to 16 active ingredients
  • Proven manufacturer

Disadvantage:

  • Maybe too strong taste

About the manufacturer:
If you have never met the Czech brand Prom-in, it is as if you have never exercised. It is one of the most proven manufacturers on the Czech market. The company is one of the most popular producers in the Czech Republic. Moreover, the offer of this company is really wide. Prom-in produces basically all types of supplements from proteins, vitamins and minerals to amino acids and pre-workouts. What has been our experience with Prom-in products? You can find out, for example, in our review of Prom-in Creatine HCl or in our ranking of the best gainers.

In one serving (24.4 grams) you will find:

  • 6950 mg of l-citrulline malate
  • 2980 mg of beta alanine
  • 2980 mg of l-leucine
  • 1980 mg creatine hydrochloride 2:1
  • 1490 mg of l- isoleucine
  • 1490 mg l-valine
  • 1490 mg l-tyrosine
  • 1000 mg taurine
  • 1000 mg choline bitartrate
  • 1000 mg betaine hydrochloride, which relieves stomach acidity
  • 500 mg acetyl l-carnitine
  • 54 mg deanol l-bitarate
  • 29 mg niacin
  • 24 mg vitamin B6
  • 20 mg capsaicin
  • 10 mg synephrine

At first glance, you can see that Serious PRE's ingredients are really packed. We must appreciate not only the high number of active ingredients, which complement each other very well, but also their quantity. Many manufacturers add some substances in minimal amounts to the formulawhich looks good on paper but has no real effect in practice. In this case, however, we find all the substances in quite sufficient quantities, which, of course, is reflected in the final effect of this supplement. The only negative is that in the result, one dose represents almost 25 grams of powder, which means that you have to soak it in less than half a liter of water. Drinking this amount of liquid before training is definitely not ideal. You can read more in our separate review.

Final review:
Serious PRE is rightfully ranked among the best that can be found on the Czech market in the category of pre-workouts without stimulants. In terms of composition it has almost no competition, so it is no surprise that you have to pay quite a bit more for it. In terms of per dose, it is one of the most expensive products in the whole ranking. However, it must be said that given the composition to the amount in which the individual doses are contained, such a high price is quite adequate and justified.

2. Czech Virus M3/s Pump

Czech Virus M3/s Pump

M3/S PUMP from Czech Virus is the right choice for anyone who expects a pre-workoutwho expects a really good blood flow, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money on supplements. In terms of price/quality ratio, this product really has no competition.

Benefits:

  • Extremely high quality composition
  • Perfect taste
  • Very good effect and maximum blood circulation
  • Excellent value for money
  • Seamless solubility

Disadvantages:

  • Unnecessarily high l-arginine content

About the manufacturer:
Czech Virus is one of the leading sellers of supplements in the Czech Republic, which is especially known for the high quality of its products. Therefore, you can see its products very regularly in our comparisons. In the repertoire of this brand you will find all the important supplements that no worker can do without. We have shared our experience with this brand with you, for example, in our review of Czech Virus Joint Max or in our comparison of the best omega 3 fatty acids.

In one "hardcore" dose (14.5 grams) you will find:

  • 5000 mg of l-citrulline
  • 2000 mg of l-ornithine
  • 1000 mg A-AKG
  • 1000 mg of l-arginine
  • 1000 mg l-lysine
  • 1000 mg glycerol
  • 500 mg vitamin C
  • 250 mg malic acid
  • 250 mg Sabeet® beet extract
  • 5 mg BioPerine® pepper extract

In terms of composition, there is not much to criticize here either. If we wanted to be really picky, we could argue that the unnecessarily high l-arginine content, which could have been largely replaced by a higher l-citrulline content. However, since the M3/S Pump works perfectly well, this is not a major problem. The manufacturer recommends taking either the standard 7.25 g dose or the so-called "hardcore" dose of two standard doses (i.e. 14.5 g). Personally, I regularly use the standard dose and I really cannot praise the effect of this product. You can read more in a separate review.

Final review:
I have to admit that I simply cannot get enough of M3/S Pump. It works absolutely great and I experience really perfect blood flow on every workout thanks to it. In addition, the Long Island Ice Tea flavor is probably the best flavor I have ever encountered in a pre-workout. Despite this, M3/S Pump is one of the cheapest products in the entire ranking. I probably don't need to point out that the price/quality ratio in this case is truly unprecedented.

3. Kulturistika.com New 100% Pumper

Kulturistika.com New 100% Pumper

Quality pumping is also offered by the New 100% Pumper from Bodyburistika.com. It contains an extremely effective combination of 7 active ingredients. It is priced among the more expensive products, however, it makes up for its higher price byIt is surprisingly good effect, which is after all the most important.

Benefits:

  • Sophisticated formulation
  • Excellent taste
  • Perfect blood circulation throughout the workout
  • High dose of l-citrulline

Disadvantages:

  • Higher price
  • Unnecessarily high arginine content

About the Manufacturer:
Bodybuilding.com is an interet sports nutrition store, but also offers its own products. While the offerings are still fairly limited, new products are gradually being added. The advantage of these products is usually a relatively low price and high quality ingredients. For example, you may have come across a review of Joint Protect or a review of New 100% Whey Protein.

In one serving (19 grams) you will find:

  • 5000 mg of l-citrulline malate
  • 5000 mg of AAKG
  • 3000 mg betaine hydrochloride
  • 3000 mg beta-alanine hydrochloride
  • 2000 mg l-ornithine
  • 20 mg capsaicin
  • 10 mg synephrine

In terms of composition, we must highlight the high dose of l-citrulline. However, in one breath we must add that from our point of view the manufacturer decided to add the same amount of AAKG, i.e. arginine-alpha-ketoglutarate, completely unnecessarily. As it has been said several times already, in terms of supplements, l-citrulline is much more effective for increasing the level of arginine in the blood. Therefore, such a high AAKG content is ultimately unnecessary. Otherwise, there is nothing to complain about the composition in principle, although it is true that the number of active ingredients in AAKGThe number of active ingredients could be higher, so that we could see, for example, creatine or other amino acids. The manufacturer recommends taking a dose representing 19 g, but for novice athletes who for athletes who are inexperienced with similar products, it may be more appropriate to use half the dose at the beginning.

Final assessment:
Bodybuilding.com New 100% Pumper does not offend by any means, but on the other hand, it probably does not particularly excite either. Its effect is decent and the pumping during workouts is noticeable, but it can't be said that this product is somehow significantly superior to the competition. Especially considering the relatively high price, I would have expected a bit more. The resulting price-quality ratio is still decent and the product definitely has something to offer, but there are certainly more interesting alternatives.

4. GymBeam SHRED!T

GymBeam SHRED!T

In our ranking we must not miss the new product from the GymBeam brand. SHRED!T contains 13 active ingredients, including a good dose of L-citrulline, beta-alanine and many other highly effective ingredients. At the same time, it offers a very good price/quality ratio, which is ultimately one of the most important factors when choosing dietary supplements.

Benefits:

  • Up to 12 active ingredients
  • Good value for money
  • High L-citrulline content
  • No controversial additives
  • Easy dosing

Disadvantages:

  • Only one flavour available

About the Manufacturer:
German sports supplement manufacturer GymBeam has been on the market since 2014. In addition to developing and selling supplements, it also focuses on health and sports nutrition education. GymBeam supplements are suitable for athletes of all kinds, so it doesn't matter if you have years of experience or are just starting out in sports. With GymBeam products, you will always find something to suit you. You may have come across GymBeam supplements in our ranking of the best whey isolates or in our review of the GymBeam Thor Vitargo pre-workout.

In one serving (12.4 grams) you get:

  • 5,000 mg of L-citrulline
  • 2,500 mg of beta-alanine
  • 2 000 mg of L-Arginine
  • 500 mg of L-tyrosine
  • 500 mg acetyl L-carnitine
  • 500 mg betaine
  • 200 mg Bacopa monnieri leaf extract
  • 54 mg DMAE bitrate
  • 32 mg vitamin B3
  • 2.8 mg vitamin B6
  • 21 mg bitter orange fruit extract (Citrus aurantium)
    • of which 20 mg synephrine
  • 2 mg BioPerine®

As such, we must evaluate the composition very positively. There is a generous dose of L-citrulline, which is the basis of the vast majority of stimulant-free pre-workouts. If you're a fan of a good pre-workout tingle all over your body, you'll also appreciate the presence of beta-alanine, which will give you a good kick. Although we could argue that the product could contain other substances (creatine, taurine...) or that some substances could becontained in larger quantities, such criticism would be completely unnecessary, because the product simply works well.

Final assessment:
SHRED!T by GymBeam is definitely not lost on the market of stimulant-free pre-workouts. The high number of active ingredients, which complement each other very well and ensure that the product works really well together, deserves praise. Some competing products offer even better effect due to a slightly better composition, but given that SHRED!T doesn't cost too much money, it has an excellent value for money. As a result, we can highly recommend it.

5. BrainMax LAUF Preworkout NO-STIM

BrainMax LAUF Preworkout NO-STIM

LAUF Preworkout NO-STIM from BrainMax is in our ranking of the best preworkoutthanks to its supercharged formula, it has earned one of the top spots in our list of the best stimulant-free workouts. No wonder. It hides 17 active ingredients that together form an absolutely perfect combination. The caffeinated version of this product also ranked well in our comparison of the best pre-workouts.

Benefits:

  • Up to 17 active ingredients
  • Important electrolyte content
  • Great taste
  • Also contains adaptogens

Disadvantages:

  • High price

About the Manufacturer:
The Czech brand BrainMax was founded with the goal of producing dietary supplements that will be based on the latestlatest scientific findings while providing the natural power of nature. The company focuses primarily on producing supplements that support brain function and productivity. Therefore, the company offers high-quality vitamins, minerals and proteins. We have shared our experience with the BrainMax brand with you, for example, in our review of BrainMax Sleep Faster or in our comparison of the best magnesium supplements.

In one serving (20 grams) you will find:

  • 5000 mg of L-citrulline DL-malate 2:1
  • 3000 mg AAKG (L-Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate) 2:1
  • 3000 mg creatine monohydrate
  • 3000 mg beta alanine
  • 1078 mg of electrolyte blend:
  • 255 mg chloride
  • 170 mg sodium (from sodium ascorbate)
  • 100 mg of Aquamine© trace elements
  • 50 mg potassium (from potassium citrate)
  • 50 mg magnesium (from magnesium citrate)
  • 500 mg N-acetyl tyrosine
  • 500 mg taurine
  • 500 mg acetyl L-carnitine
  • 200 mg rhodiola rosea root extract (3% rosavins)
  • 200 mg green tea extract 50% EGCG
  • 180 mg caffeine anhydrous
  • 100 mg theobromine (from the cacao tree)
  • 100 mg Lion's mane (30% polysaccharides)
  • 100 mg L-theanine
  • 100 mg guarana
  • 25 mg naringin (from citrus fruits)
  • 3 mg piperine

Even at the first glance at the ingredients, it's obvious that the manufacturer has really put a lot of thought into it in this case. First of all, it is worth noticing the high content of L-citrulline, which supports maximum performance and promotes proper blood circulation, which is simply needed during training. The electrolyte blend must also be appreciated, because insufficient hydration during sports performance causes poorer performance. In general, we have to evaluate the composition very positively, because the individual substances complement each other very well and this is evident in the final effect.

Final assessment:
BrainMax LAUF Preworkout NO-STIM performs very well compared to the competition, as it contains a good load of effectivewhich act synergistically with each other, which of course reflects on the real effect of this product. However, we must also mention the negative side of this product and that is the high price. This is one of the most expensive products in the whole ranking. Therefore, it is definitely not an ideal choice for everyone. However, if you don't mind paying extra for quality supplements, BrainMax LAUF Preworkout NO-STIM is definitely worth a try and we can highly recommend it.

6. Reflex Muscle Bomb Caffeine Free

Reflex Muscle Bomb Caffeine Free

The next place was taken by the Muscle Bomb Caffeine Free pre-workout from Reflex. It impressed us especially with its very good composition, which combines up to 13 active ingredients. At the same time, it contains no artificial colours or sweeteners, which is always a big plus.

Advantages:

  • High content of active ingredients
  • First-class effect
  • Also suitable for evening workouts
  • One pack contains up to 40 doses
  • High l-citrulline content

Disadvantages:

  • One dose needs to be mixed with 300-400 ml of water, which is quite a lot

About the Manufacturer:
The Reflex brand is behind some of the highest quality supplements on the market. Since its inception in 1996, the company has prided itself on the premium quality of its products. This is why it invests a large amount of money in research and puts all of its products through independent quality tests. You may have come across Reflex products, for example, in our review of Reflex Nexgen PRO or in our ranking of the best proteins for women.

In one serving (15 grams) you will find:

  • 4050 mg of l-citrulline malate
  • 1695 mg BCAA
  • 1605 mg beta-alanine
  • 1305 mg betaine anyhydride
  • 1005 mg l-carnitine l-tartrate
  • 495 mg l-taurine
  • 28.5 mg grape seed extract
  • 28.5 mg of pine bark extract
  • 400 μg of vitamin B6
  • 300 μg folic acid
  • 9,45 µg vitamin B12

Muscle Bomb Caffeine Free offers a really sophisticated and very rich formula. It should be noted at this point that the manufacturer lists the recommended dose as 15-30 g, withThe above mentioned figures are based on the smallest possible dose. Therefore, the content of individual substances may be much higher in the result. For example, the content of citrulline in one dose can reach more than 8000 mg, which is a really big load. For this reason too, taking slightly smaller doses is sufficient to make the pack last longer.

Final assessment:
The big advantage of Reflex Muscle Bomb Caffeine Free is its price. It is more expensive than the aforementioned Czech Virus M3/S Pump, but it is still one of the cheaper products. At the same time, it boasts a truly supercharged formula that will not disappoint you in any way. As a result, we can highly recommend this pre-workout from Reflex to everyone.

7. Vilgain Pre-workout bez stimulantů

Vilgain Pre-workout bez stimulantů

Six proven substances represented in optimal proportions and the absence of all stimulants on the basis ofThe absence of caffeine makes this supplement the ideal companion for all evening workouts. Vilgain Pre-Workout Caffeine Free is a good and affordable product that reliably pumps up before any afternoon or evening workout.

Benefits:

  • Thoughtful formulation
  • Great blood circulation
  • Pleasant orange taste
  • High dose of citrulline

Disadvantages:

  • 6 ingredients is not much

Who makes it:
The company behind Stimulant-Free Pre-Workout is Vilgain, which some of you may remember as Actin. However, this e-shop has brought its own supplements to the market and now offers a range of health foods, cosmetics and even clothing in addition to sports nutrition. You may have come across products from this brand in our review of Vilgain Whey Protein, which we also included in our comparison of the best whey proteins.

In one serving (15.25 grams) you will find:

  • 8000 mg citrulline malate
  • 2000 mg ornithine HCl
  • 2000 mg of taurine
  • 100 mg rhodiola rosea
  • 500 mg acetyl-l-carnitine
  • 54 mg DMAE bitartrate (of which 20 mg is pure DMAE)

All the substances that are represented in the product are found in sufficient quantities and, for example, citrulline is contained in this supplement significantly more than competing products. On the other hand, however, it has only and only 6 active ingredients, which is sufficient in terms of effect, but of course it could be better. For example, the winning product has 16 of them, which is considerably more. Nevertheless, we rate the composition positively in terms of effect.

Final assessment:
This product offers a relatively simple but sufficient formula. However, its main benefits remain its low price and relatively good taste, which remindsThe taste is reminiscent, for example, of the well-known effervescent vitamins that can be found at supermarket checkouts.

8. Extrifit Actinox

Extrifit Actinox

Fans of a proper pump will undoubtedly be interested in Extrifit Actinox. It contains patented protected nitro peptides ActiNOS® promoting maximum blood flow and veininess. Also worth mentioning is the high content of BCAAs and other essential substances. Extrifit Actinox can be enjoyed in a total of 3 delicious flavours.

Benefits:

  • Excellent composition
  • High content of active ingredients
  • Great taste
  • Seamless solubility
  • Excellent effect

Disadvantages:

  • Ranks among the more expensive products

About the Manufacturer:
Extrifit is one of the largest manufacturers of sports supplements in the country. If you love heavy workouts in the gym, you must have come across this brand at some point in your life. Extrifit manufactures their supplements to suit the biggest of hard workers who have really high demands on their bodies. That's why you can be sure that all Extrifit products are of the highest quality. You could meet them, for example, in the review of Extrifit Instant Whey 80 or in the comparison of the best multivitamins.

In one serving (40 grams) you will find:

  • 340 mg of patent-protected ActiNOS® nitro peptides
  • 4000 mg of beta-alanine
  • 4000 mg of AKG l-arginine
  • 2000 mg l-arginine base
  • 4000 mg l-citrulline malate
  • 10000 mg l-glutamine
  • 4000 mg l-leucine
  • 2000 mg l-isoleucine
  • 2000 mg l-valine
  • 3703 mg palatinose

On the list of contained substances, the ActiNOS® peptides are of course the most interesting. Thanks to them, there is a long-term stimulation of nitric oxide production. This is responsible for the expansion of blood vessels and subsequent blood flow during training. The resulting effect of the product is therefore really perfect. The manufacturer recommends taking the product twice a day, with the ideal time for use being, of course, before training. Taking it outside of training or even on non-training days is supposed to ensure better recovery due to increased blood supply to the muscles.

Final evaluation:
Extrifit Actinox is a very interesting and from the point of view of the composition also an extremely successful product. The potential disadvantage may be the relatively high price. It is not the most expensive product on the market, but you will definitely have to pay a little extra for it. However, the price/quality ratio remains excellent and there is no reason why we wouldn't highly recommend Extrifit Actinox to anyone looking for a proper pre-workout pump.

9. BrainMax 3.0 Anabolic Dagger

BrainMax 3.0 Anabolic Dagger

Pre-workout BrainMax 3.0 Anabolic Dagger is especially characterized by an absolutely supercharged composition, which we really have nothing to complain about. It is the basis for the perfect effect that will take your training to a new level. Therefore, it is probably not surprising that this product belongs to the more expensive category.

Benefits:

  • Thoughtful and high-quality composition
  • Excellent effect
  • High doses of active ingredients
  • Seamless solubility

Disadvantages:

  • High price

About the Manufacturer:
The Czech brand BrainMax was created with the aim of producing dietary supplements that will be based on the latestlatest scientific findings while providing the natural power of nature.

In one serving (14 grams) you will find:

  • 50 mg of zinc bisglycinate
  • 200 mg of Siberian ginseng
  • 800 mg of St. John's Wort
  • 100 mg rhodiola rosea
  • 400 mg Peruvian maca
  • 1500 mcg vitamin D3
  • 200 mg fenugreek
  • 100 mg broccoli extract
  • 0.8 mg acetyl l-tyrosine
  • 150 mg carnitine tartrate
  • 5500 mg citrulline malate,
  • 4000 mg creatine monohydrate
  • 3 mg bioperine

Anabolic Dagger definitely deserves a lot of praise for its composition. In addition to the very effective combination of many quality ingredients, we must appreciate especially their concentration. It is certainly not possible to argue that the manufacturer added some substances here just for show. The resulting effect is therefore really perfect. Proper blood circulation is a matter of course and the overall quality of the workout went up clearly after taking Anabolic Dagger. You can read more about the ingredients and our experience with this pre-workout in a separate review.

Final review:
If you are looking for a really good pump that will make you feel a really good blood flow, Anabolic Dagger is perfect for you. But it must be added that the high quality also goes hand in hand with a relatively high price. But if you don't mind paying a little extra for quality supplements, you will be satisfied. And if you are looking for something more affordable, try for example Czech Virus M3/S Pump.

This combination together provides an extremely potent effect that is guaranteed not to disappoint. Benefits:

  • Comprehensive formula
  • Perfect effect
  • Choice of 4 delicious flavours

Disadvantages:

  • High price

  • 6000 mg of l-citrulline malate
  • 3200 mg of beta alanine
  • 1500 mg betaine
  • 1500 mg glyceryl monostearate

  • 500 mg choline bitartrate
  • 400 mg taurine

  • 100 mg glucuronolactone
  • 100 mg l-theanine

  • 50 mg Rhodiola rosea root extract
  • 25 mg alpha-GPC
  • 18 mg vitamin B6
  • 5 mg Piper nigrum fruit extract
  • 5 mg cayenne pepper extract

As mentioned above, Xtreme Napalm Pre-Contest Pumped Stimulant Free has an extremely long name in addition to an extremely sophisticated formula. Especially worth mentioning is the high content of l-citrulline and beta-alanine. There are also nootropics that support concentration, which is extremely important during strength training. The manufacturer recommends to mix one dose in 300-400 ml of water. Personally, however, I prefer to drink as little water as possible before training, so I would recommend sticking to the lower end of this range. Of course, you do need to take into account if you don't find the taste too strong in this case.

Final assessment:
Xtreme Napalm Pre-Contest Pumped Stimulant Free is another very well thought out product that I think you will never go wrong with. It offers a really solid pump that allows you to give it your all on your workout. However, even in this case, you can't ignore the high price, which can be a big obstacle for a lot of people. The resulting price/quality ratio is still very good, but there are cheaper alternatives.

11. GreenFood Performance Pre-Workout

GreenFood Performance Pre-Workout

Performance Pre-Workout from GreenFood impresses with its simple, but at the same time very appealing formula. We can find here a high content of l-citrulline, but also a decent dose of beta-alanine or nitrates in the form of beetroot extract. Price-wise, however, the product is in a higher price category.

Benefits:

  • Excellent taste
  • High-quality ingredients
  • High l-citrulline content
  • Supports blood flow to muscles during training

Disadvantages:

  • Higher price
  • Poorer solubility

About the Manufacturer:
GreenFood is a family-owned Czech company that focuses on manufacturing and selling dietary supplements made from premium ingredients. The company prides itself on the high quality organic composition of all its products. Therefore, you will never find preservatives, added sugars, dyes or stabilizers in them. This is one of the reasons why the company has earned its position as a proven manufacturer that can be relied upon in 25 years on the market. You have already come across the GreenFood brand in our comparison of the best supplements, for example.or in our ranking of the best digestive enzymes.

In one serving (16.48 grams) you will find:

  • 6000 mg of l-citrulline malate
  • 3000 mg of beta-alanine
  • 1000 mg of beetroot extract
  • 1000 mg of l-tyrosine
  • 1000 mg inosine
  • 1000 mg betaine
  • 1000 mg glycerol
  • 500 mg choline bitrate
  • 250 mg vitamin C
  • 20 mg DMAE

We must highlight especially the high content of l-citrulline responsible for increasing the level of arginine in the body. Fans of the typical burning sensation under the skin will also appreciate theThe high dose of beta-alanine, which is not always present in stimulant-free pre-workouts. In general, we must evaluate the composition very positively. In addition, the manufacturer recommends mixing one dose in 300 ml of water, which is quite acceptable amount, which for most people is not a problem before training.

Final assessment:
Although GreenFood Performance Pre-Workout is not one of the cheapest products in our ranking, its composition sufficiently compensates for the higher price. I also consider the very good taste to be a big plus, which cannot be evaluated other than completely subjectively, but given the positivem feedback from satisfied customers, I will certainly not be the only one who cannot complain in this respect. Ultimately, therefore, I can unequivocally recommend GreenFood Performance Pre-Workout.

12. Czech Virus Nitro Virus

Czech Virus Nitro Virus

Nitro Virus by Czech Virus differs from most of the pre-workouts in this ranking by containing only one active ingredient. Specifically, it's beetroot extract, which contains up to 10% nitrates to support muscle pro-conditioning during training. The big advantage of this product is that it has a truly unbeatable price due to its simple formula.

Benefits:

  • Extremely low price
  • Simple but effective formula
  • Pack contains up to 200 doses
  • Excellent blood supply during training

Disadvantages:

  • Only one active ingredient

In one dose (1 capsule) you will find:

  • 500 mg of beetroot extract
    • of which 50 mg of nitrates

In terms of ingredients, there's really not much to go into here. Beetroot extract is a very high quality natural source of inorganic nitrate, which is eventually converted to nitric oxide in the human body during strength performance. This is subsequently responsible for improving muscle blood flow. Of course, we can argue that we do not find any citrulline or other active substances here, but that would probably be unnecessary in this case. In short, this product represents the simplest possible solution for athletes who want to get the best possible pump during training. Clearly, if you are looking for a complex formula, you will have to reach for another product. The manufacturer recommends one capsule as a basic dose before training, but at the same time states that the advanced dose is 4 capsules and the so called The hardcore dose is even 8 capsules before training. In this case, a person would take a full 400 mg of nitrates in one dose.

Final assessment:
Czech Virus Nitro Virus is an interesting product, but it will definitely not suit everyone. If you are looking for a more comprehensive formula, try M3/S Pump from the same manufacturer. However, if you are looking for a simple product at a very minimal price, Nitro Virus may be the right choice for you. You can read more in our separate Nitro Virus product review.

13. BSN Nitrix 2.0

BSN Nitrix 2.0

Fans of cheaper supplements will certainly be interested in Nitrix 2.0 from BSN. In the calculation per dose it comes out the best of all complex supplements in our ranking. However, the low price has its reason in the relatively poor composition. Since it is a product in capsule form, the content of individual active ingredients is much lower than in competing powder products.

Advantages:

  • Very good price
  • Easy dosage and use
  • Original formulation
  • Effective blood supply to muscles during training

Disadvantages:

  • Low content of active ingredients
  • Does not contain some important substances

About the manufacturer:
The BSN brand may not have such a big name in the Czech Republic, but it is actually one of the world's leading manufacturers of sports supplements. After all, working with names like Ronnie Coleman is not something just anyone can do. BSN products are among the best that one can get in the field of sports supplements. For example, you could meet them in our comparison of the best multi-ingredient proteins.

In one serving (3 capsules) you will find:

  • 1500 mg of creatine
  • 1500 mg of l-citrulline
  • 100 mg of hawthorn extract
  • 100 mg pomegranate extract
  • 50 mg grape seed extract
  • 25 mg cayenne pepper extract
  • 12 mg niacin
  • 5 mg black pepper extract
  • 3 mg resveratrol

The biggest disadvantage of Nitrix 2.0 is the already mentioned low content of individual substances. The actual list of active ingredients used by the manufacturer is also a certain problem. We won't find here any l-ornithine, beta-alanine, BCAA, taurine or any other typical substances. Instead, the manufacturer limited himself to creatine, l-citrulline and extracts from various natural sources. Although these provide valuable antioxidants and flavonoids, we would still like to see some of the above mentioned substances in the ingredients to maximize the effect. On the other hand, it must be admitted that Nitrix 2.0 is quite original and can attract even athletes who are not attracted by traditional products.

Final assessment:
BSN Nitrix 2.2.0 is a great solution especially for those of you who don't like to drink before training which is simply unavoidable with most pre-workout products. The capsule form is a great advantage in this regard. Likewise, we must highlight the very convenient price per dose. However, if you are looking for the maximum possible effect, you will probably find another product more appealing. It must be added, however, that each of us is different, and some may find it less the amount of active ingredients may suit some people (especially beginners).

14. Amix Epo-Core VO2

Amix Epo-Core VO2

At the end of our ranking we must not forget Amix Epo-Core VO2. Similarly to BSN Nitrix 2.0, it impresses mainly due to its easy use without the need to drink too much liquid and very low price.

Advantages:

  • Ease of use
  • Quality pre-workout pump
  • Convenient price

Disadvantages:

  • Low content of active ingredients
  • Does not contain l-citrulline

About the Manufacturer:
Amix Nutrition brand is the flagship brand of the British company LargeLife Limited. During its long years in the market, it has managed to work its way up to being one of the largest sports supplement manufacturers in Europe. In the Amix Nutrition range you can find really everything from proteins to joint nutrition or CBD oils. You may have come across Amix products in our ranking of the best multivitamins or in our review of Amix Isoprime CFM.

In one dose (4 capsules) you will find:

  • 666.6 mg of beta-alanine
  • 400 mg ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate
  • 400 mg arginine alpha-ketoglutarate
  • 133.3 mg of Chinese caterpillar extract
  • 100 mg of Chinese angelica extract
  • 100 mg of pink stonecrop
  • 80 mg sodium adenosine 5' triphosphate
  • 66.6 mg N-Dimethylglycine HCL
  • 66,6 mg choline
  • 66,6 mg inositol
  • 66,6 mg extract of cream of tartar
  • 33,3 mg alpha lipoic acid
  • 66,6 μg chromium picolinate

Right from the start, we must of course point out the absence of l-citrulline. This substance is the basis of all quality pre-workouts used to promote blood flow and pumping. In this case, the manufacturer decided to replace it with arginine and ornithine. Although both substances have their role in the composition of a similar product, the absence of citrulline cannot be compensated by them. Another shortcoming is the low content of individual substances, as is usual with capsule supplements. Otherwise, the composition is quite interesting and well thought out, which is of course a plus.

Final assessment:
Amix Epo-Core VO2 is quite out of line with what we see in most competing products. The absence of l-citrulline has to be seen as a negative, but in any case, if for some reasonfor some reason, this substance is a problem with other products, Epo-Core VO2 will be perfect for you. The undeniable advantage is also the very low price, which is also justified by the low content of active ingredients.

How do pre-workouts without stimulants work?

While classic pre-workouts are often also referred to as "pre-workouts" because of their highstimulant content, they can really kick a person into gear, pre-workouts without stimulants work differently. Is there any point in taking a pre-workout supplement that won't make you feel extremely energized? Definitely yes! Pre-workouts without stimulants promote blood circulation, help maintain concentration for training, delay fatigue and boost performance. So even though they won't give you energy in the same way as dietary supplements containing caffeine and other substances, they will help you squeeze the most out of your workout. Plus, they have a number of additional benefits compared to traditional pre-workoutsbenefits, which we've covered in detail in our article Pre-workouts without stimulants: How are they better than classic pre-workouts? In it, you'll learn, among other things, what caffeine resistance is and why it's sometimes better to avoid stimulants altogether.

Don't miss
Proper blood circulation is also related to, among other things, accentuated veins. How to promote veininess and whether this phenomenon has any impact on performance you will learn in a separate article.

What substances can be found in pre-workouts without stimulants?

The spectrum of substances that anabolics can contain is really extremely wide and we certainly don't have the space to cover them all. For this reason, we will break down only the most common and most important ingredients that a quality pre-workout without stimulants should not do without.

Beta-alanine

Beta-alanine is involved in the formation of the dipeptide carnosine, which is responsible for delaying fatigue during athletic performance. Thanks to this, it helps to increase muscle endurance, which translates positively to overall performance. Read more in our article Beta-alanine under the microscope.

L-citrulline

Citrulline is an absolutely essential component of pre-workout supplements. This amino acid increases nitric oxide levels in the body, and it is this substance that is responsible for stretching and subsequent better blood flow to the muscles. This results in better recovery and an increase in the time the muscle can work under load. You can find out everything you need to know about citrulline in our article Citrulline under the microscope.

L-Arginine

Arginine acts in much the same way as citrulline, however, it is relatively free of breakdown in the body into ornithine and uric acid. Citrulline is therefore generally considered to be the preferable option. However, this does not change the fact that arginine helps to enhance the effects of citrulline and, together with ornithine, promotes the production of growth hormone.

L-Ornithine

The previous pair of amino acids is also complemented by ornithine. This substance enhances the effect of the previous two and acts in synergy with them. Among other things, ornithine is involved in the elimination of ammonia from the body.

Creatine

Much has been written about creatine. It is very popular among athletes for its ability to promote strength performance, improve the recovery of damaged muscles or perhaps delay fatigue. Read more in our article Creatine under the microscope.

BCAAS

Branched-chain amino acids have the ability to reduce the level of catabolic hormones in the body and in turn increase the level of anabolic hormones. They also promote recovery, reduce muscle soreness and help preserve muscle mass. This is also why many people supplement them on their own. Our ranking of the best BCAAs will help you choose a quality supplement.

When and how to dose pre-workouts without stimulants?

As a general rule, it is a good idea to take a pre-workout about 20 minutes before the start of your workout. During this time, all the contained substances should start to act. However, always follow the specific recommendations given by the manufacturer on the product packaging. With some supplements, you may also see a recommendation that the product can be taken outside of training or even on non-training days. Such a practice may enhance the effect of the product, however, it is definitely not a necessity. Of course, more frequent use also means that you will run out of the product much sooner and have to buy a new one. For most athletes, therefore, it will be sufficient to take pre-workout products only before training.

Can I overdose on a stimulant-free pre-workout?

We have already covered the topic of pre-workout overdose in a separate article. That one was focused on pre-workouts in general, so we covered caffeine and other stimulantsm, but our attention did not escape the substances that are typically contained in preworkouts without stimulants. In this article, you will therefore learn what the recommended doses of citrulline, arginine or beta alanine are. the most common symptoms of a pre-workout overdose. Due to the absence of stimulants, you don't have to worry about the problems associated with caffeine, but it's still not worth overdoing it with supplements. Stick to the manufacturer's recommended dosage, otherwise you could risk unpleasant digestive problems at the very least.

Before taking a new supplement for the first time, it is advisable to test a smaller amount of the supplement on yourself and then start taking the standard amount before training. This will minimize the risk of your body reacting badly to the supplement.

Can I take pre-workouts with stimulants?

The fact that you take stimulant-free pre-workouts does not automatically mean that you cannot also reach for a supplement with caffeine or other substances from time to time. The positives associated with taking stimulant-free pre-workouts will not be affected and may help you in your situation. In theory, it is also possible to combine the two types of product together. This way, you will feel the "kick" caused by the stimulants, but at the same time you won't take in so much of them that their negative effects are fully manifested. In this case, however, pay close attention to the amount of each substance in both products, so that you do not ingest excessive amounts of either of them.

That's all for today.
