The high active ingredient content, minimal calories and no unnecessary additives make it simply and simply the best. Since it is one of the very strong pre-workouts, it is advisable to try half a bag first to assess tolerance. Despite the high price (which, however, corresponds to the content of active ingredients), AGREZZ becomes the best NO product on the market and has no competition in our country.
What would be the ranking of the best pre-workouts if the popular Beast Virus V2 from Czech Virus didn't appear in it.
Beast sparked an imaginary revolution in pre-workout supplementation, but after a few years it was time for an innovation. Instead of the original nine, there are now 13 active ingredients, while the price and content of the other ingredients remain the same. This makes Beast Virus V2 one of the best pre-workout supplements, and rightfully so.
Benefits:
- High concentration of active ingredients
- Great to get you pumped up for your workout
- Complete product transparency, no "proprietary blends" with unclear ingredients
- Natural colours and flavourings
- Sweetened only with the non-hazardous sweetener sucralose
Disadvantages:
- High price
- Available in only two flavours

Since 2012, when the first idea was born in the minds of the creators, the company has been based on quality products without unnecessary chemistry. Final summary:
Even the first version of Beast Virus was worth it. But when you add in 4 other active ingredients that really make sense and have an effect, there's nothing to worry about at all. Without a doubt one of the best pre-workouts you can get on our market.
Great taste, transparent composition, active ingredients in sufficient quantities and maximum effect. This is Beast Virus V2.0.
EDIT 6.6.2018: we have just published a detailed review on Beast Virus, you can read it currently at this link.
Among the best pre-workouts on the market, there must definitely not be missing a relatively new product from the workshop of the well-known bodybuilder Jiri Vacko. His supplement, simply called PWO, combines 21 active ingredients and, in addition to provenPWO offers, for example, beetroot extract, grape seed extract or citocoline. Some may also like the absence of beta-alanine, which causes unpleasant itching during training.
Benefits:
- Great formulation of 21 active ingredients
- No superfluous ingredients
- Great taste
- Good effect on blood circulation
Disadvantages:
- Slightly higher price which may discourage some from buying
I consider the biggest disadvantage in terms of use with this pre-workout to be the very long time between drinking and the onset of effects. The manufacturer recommends taking Fitness007 PWO as early as 30 minutes before training. This means that you usually have to take it before you even go to the gym, which simply may not suit everyone. Additionally, the manufacturer recommends dissolving one serving in 500 ml of water. However, it worked well for me to take about 100 ml less, which kept my belly from being unnecessarily full during my workout. But the final effect is worth it and will give you a great kick in your workout. We must appreciate the taste, which is surprisingly natural for a pre-workout and does not taste unnecessarily artificial.
About the manufacturer:
Behind this product is the company Fitness007 in cooperation with the famous bodybuilder Jirka Vacek. The aforementioned e-shop has relatively recently launched its own line of supplements, which really caught our attention. If you would like to learn more about these products, we definitely recommend you to check out oure review of SmartFuel Protein Bar or our ranking of the best whey proteins.
What it contains:
- 5,400 mg of L-citrulline, which is the best supplement for improving NO production and thus muscle blood flow
- 2,600 mg of malic acid (citrulline malate), another effective form of citrulline
- 2,000 mg of SABEET (beetroot extract) containing nitrates for maximum muscle blood flow during training
- 2 000 mg of glycerol to increase extracellular fluid volume
- 2,000 mg of L-Tyrosine, a precursor to adrenaline and noradrenaline
- 2 000 mg of taurine for proper concentration for training
- 500 mg of green tea leaf extract to support metabolic functioning
- 500 mg of Cordyceps sinensis powder, which is a mushroom that supports energy, endurance and recovery
- 300 mg of potassium, which is excreted in large quantities in sweat during physical exertion
- 250 mg of grape seed extract for better blood circulation and significant antioxidant effects
- 188 mg of elemental sodium in the form of citrate to improve red blood cell production
- 165 mg of caffeine for maximum energy
- 120 mg of vitamin C for pumping support and antioxidant effects
- 119 mg of elemental phosphorus (potassium salt of phosphoric acid) acting as a source of cellular energy
- 100 mg of citrus aurantium extract, which acts as a source of synephrine to support fat metabolism
- 85 mg of rhodiola rosea for normal digestion, oxygenation of the heart and blood vessels and support of physical performance
- 57 mg of elemental magnesium (in the form of citrate), on which the function of enzymes involved in the production of ATP depends
- 50 mg of cytocoline, which acts as a precursor to phosphatidylcholine, contributing to the renewal of mitochondria responsible for the production of cellular energy
- 24.7 mg of vitamin B6 for proper protein and carbohydrate metabolism
- 30 mg of vitamin B3 to support recovery from muscle strain
- 7 mg of bioperine, which aims to improve the absorption of other substances by up to several times
Final evaluation:
If we ignore the slightly higher price, which may discourage some people from buying this supplement, PWO by Jirka Vacka would definitely be a candidate for the best supplement on the market. However, since you have to pay a little extra for most of the quality supplements today, it is something to be reckoned with. We rate PWO very positively and if you are tired of Agrezz or Beast Virus and are looking for a supplement that will be good not only in taste but also in effect, PWO is a great choice.
When GymBeam joined forces with Jakub Enzl to create a comprehensive pre-workout, Enjoy Pre-Workout was born. And it should be noted that 16 active ingredients, a hefty serving of caffeine and good value for money, this supplement is undoubtedly one of the best pre-workouts on the market. What is also interesting about this supplement is the content of various adaptogens, which are not exactly a common ingredient in these products.
Benefits:
- 16 active ingredients
- Reliably energizes
- Good value for money
- Contains adaptogens
- Sucralose has been used to sweeten
Disadvantages:
- 250 mg of caffeine is not for everyone
- The product contains the dye brilliant blue
Who makes it:
This product is made by GymBeam in collaboration with bodybuilder Jakub Enzl, who is especially popular on social media sites like YouTube.GymBeam has been in business since 2013 and has a repertoire of products not only in the sports nutrition field, but also in clothing and or exercise equipment. We have mentioned GymBeam in our comparison of the best isolates or in our big GymBeam protein test, for example.
What it contains:
- 6000 mg of citrulline malate, which is used to promote muscle blood flow
- 3200 mg of beta alanine, which some studies suggest may improve muscle endurance
- 1000 mg of taurine, which promotes concentration
- 1000 mg of glycerol, which some sources suggest can increase extracellular fluid volume
- 675 mg of choline bitartrate, which has been linked to memory, among other things
- 500 mg betaine hydrochloride, which affects protein metabolism
- 500 mg of l-tyrosine, which is, among other things, a precursor of adrenaline
- 300 mg of l-theanine, which some sources claim enhances the effect of caffeine
- 300 mg of Korean ginseng extract, which is one of the widely recommended adaptogens
- 250 mg of caffeine, which is probably the most widely used stimulant in the world
- 250 mg of vitamin C, which is important for the immune system and may also promote muscle blood flow
- 100 mg of rosehip extract, which is also an adaptogen
- 10 mg of synephrine, which is widely used in various fat burners
- 100 mg of theactin, which is one of the very few substances used in similar supplements.
- 50 mg of l-norvaline, which may influence NO production and therefore affect muscle pumping
- 50 mg of green tea extract, which may be related, for example, to the functioning of metabolism
Final summary:
Enjoy Pre-Workout is quite a good supplement that offers 16 active ingredients in sufficient quantities. As far as the effect is concerned, the pre-workout obviously works relatively well, but if you are sensitive to caffeine, for example, theprepare yourself that there is a lot of it in this supplement - even more than in some other pre-workouts. The only negative we can see is the flavour chosen - we honestly wonder why, out of all the options, GymBeam chose to createcrystal blue flavour, which contains a brilliant blue that, for example, is given a harmfulness score of 5 by the Fair Food website.
Just 10 grams of citrulline in one serving is in itself a good reason to put this pre-workout at the top of our list. But when you add to that a whole range of other ingredients, a very pleasant taste and a competitive price/quality ratio, there is nothing to complain about at all.
Pros:
- Up to 10g of citrulline per dose
- Very good taste
- Concentrated formula
Disadvantages:
- Only 8 active ingredients

What Blood Storm contains:
- 10000mg of l-citrulline, which is one of the best and most effective products for improving blood flow during workouts. In addition, in Blood Storm, it makes up to 50% of the entire supplement, which is
- 2000mg of l-arginine HCl, which in my opinion is a somewhat unnecessary ingredient, as nowadays it is generally citrulline is known to be much more effective, anyway I at least commend the use of the hydrochloride form.
- 2000mg of l-betaine HCl, which contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism, improves nutrient utilization and aids in overall protein metabolism.
- 2000mg of l-ornithine HCl, which is very effective in helping to release anabolic hormones and improve protein synthesis.
- 1000mg of beetroot extract, which is one of the best possible products to improve blood flow and veining during training.
- 450mg of resveratrol, which is still a rather controversial substance, but is attributed with good antioxidant effects as well as possible positive effects on a variety of diseases.
- 300mg of l-norvaline, which is an amino acid that maximizes NO production. However, due to its price, it is very often substituted by other raw materials and althoughin the USA this substance is quite common, in our country it is used by a minimum of manufacturers.
- 50mg of piperine, which improves the absorption of other substances by up to 3000%.
Final summary:
Blood Storm is a great supplement, which can be faulted only by fewer active ingredients, becauseWhile previous pre-workouts contain about 13 substances, Blood Storm has only 8. But if you can get past that, you'll get a great effect at a price that won't break your budget.
Edit 7.1.2020 - We just published a detailed review for Blood Storm by Big Zone, you can read it here.

We must especially appreciate the presence of electrolytes supporting sufficient hydration and high L-citrulline content, which cannot be missing in any proper pre-workout. The only disadvantage of this product is the relatively high price. LAUF is one of the most expensive items in our ranking. Therefore, if the price of supplements is important to you along with the quality, you will probably prefer a cheaper option. But if you don't mind paying a little extra for supplements, this preworkout is definitely worth a try.

- The flavours are quite intense for my taste, so you have to use more water, which is not desirable for example when training in the evening

- More experienced exercisers over 80kg must double the dose for the desired effect
- Unrefined ratio of substances

Final assessment:
CELLZOOM is truly a quality supplement for extreme training.
Unfortunately, as with the previous pre-workout, the overall impression is spoiled by the unnecessarily high content of ineffective substances.
The big minus is also the unrefined ratio of active ingredients - if you have more than 80kg, 1.5g of beta alanine will do nothing to you and you won't feel any pinching. When you double the dose, beta alanine gets to the right level, but 400mg of caffeine can alreadysome more sensitive individuals very badly (insomnia, nausea during training, excessive sweating...).
We didn't mind the higher dose of caffeine at all and we can only recommend CELLZOOM.

Edit 7.3. 2020 - We have now published a separate review on the GymBeam Thor pre-workout.
What's a pre-workout?
A "pre-workout" is a combination of several active substances that are suitable before exercise, because, for example. They can also be used in a variety of ways, such as to energize the workout, dilate blood vessels to improve blood flow, delay fatigue, or otherwise support the quality of the workout.
You've probably noticed that there are at least 10 active ingredients in every good quality pre-workout.
This is because each substance positively affects something different (caffeine improves alertness and increases sweating, arginine dilates blood vessels,...) and when combined correctly, these substances can act synergistically, meaning that one substance will magnify the effect of the other. Let's take a look at some of the essential substances that should not be missing in any pre-workout.
A very popular stimulant that you will find in the vast majority of pre-workout supplements is caffeine, which works as a nervous system stimulant, suppresses fatigue, awakens alertness and has diuretic effects in most users.
In almost every good pre-workout you will also find a non-essential amino acid called beta alanine, which is very often considered the supplement of the future. It really has many positive effects on the body of every exerciser - it increases strength, anaerobic and aerobic endurance and delays muscle fatigue.
The last very commonly used supplement we will list here is citrulline, which you can read the full article about on our website. It is important mainly due to increasing nitric oxide levels, stimulating the production of growth hormone in the body as well as improving the quality of sex life.
Taking pre-workouts (pre-workout stimulants and muscle pumps) has a plethora of benefits.
Thanks to the increase in nitric oxide production (which is provided by beta alanine, citrulline, arginine, for example), the muscles become better blooded and this allows for greater muscle mass growth. Stimulants (caffeine, taurine,...) will in turn suppress fatigue and you will be able to perform much better in the gym.
Taking pre-workouts before a workout has, in short, a lot of positive effects.
So should I start taking pre-workouts too?
If you've read the entire ranking and made it this far, you've probablywondering whether or not you should start taking a pre-workout.
I'll try to answer it for you.
Pre-workout stimulants are suitable for every active person - for men, for women, for bodybuilders, for strongmen, for everyone. However, it is a dietary supplement that serves to maximize performance in training. If you go to the gym for twenty minutes, play with your biceps axis, do twenty squats and go to the shower, any pre-workout stimulant is a waste of money for you.
At the same time, these supplements are not suitable for caffeine-sensitive individuals and children under 15 years of age. It's also important to note that there are more important supplements than pre-workouts. For example, such glutamine is a far more beneficial supplement for most exercisers. Not to mention protein.
This question is surprisingly hard to answer. It depends on what you mean by "side effect".
But the fact is that all the supplements on this list meet extremely strict EU requirements, and compared to the supplements available in the US, all of "our" supplements are very weak indeed. If by side effect you imagine that you will not sleep for several nights, you will growa third ear and get gynecomastia, then pre-workouts have no side effects.
But it is natural that after stimulants like caffeine, green tea extract and others the body sweats excessively.
Similarly, after taking beta alanine, your limbs may start tingling.
When taking pre-workouts before training, one rule should be followed When taking your first dose, ALWAYS follow the dosage prescribed by the manufacturer.
If you do so and the product does not "work", you can add. However, it is definitely not a good idea to start with a double dose right away as it could cause you considerable problems.
How to choose the right pre-workout?
Choosing the right dietary supplements is definitely not an easy matter, but they are an integral part of every athlete's life.
If you don't want to follow our ranking that we have compiled for you, you can choose any other pre-workout.
Before you buy, it is definitely a good idea to check the content of active ingredients (or even compare it with one of our recommended supplements). Choosing the ideal pre-workout supplement is largely individualWhat doesn't work at all for one person may blow the other out of the water. It's the same with the supplements in our rankings.
When choosing the right pre-workout supplements, it certainly doesn't hurt to be inspired by some of the successfulA successful bodybuilder who is not sponsored by just one particular supplement brand and his opinion is thus completely objective. We have tested all of them for you and assigned them the appropriate position based on the ingredients, our own experience and reviews from our website. However, it may well be that N1 will work far better for you than Agrezz.
Beware of American pre-workouts
If you have ever browsed foreign supplement e-shops, you may have noticed that some products (especiallyAmerican ones intended for the local market) contain substances that you won't find in products sold here. For this reason, American pre-workouts are very tempting for many athletes because they promise a much better effect from them. However, the reality is that these substances are not added to supplements here for a good reason. We discussed their potential health risks and possible benefits in our article Why not use American pre-workouts?
What if I overdo it with the pre-workout?
A common question asked especially by young athletes is the possibility of overdosing on a pre-workout. We definitely recommend sticking to the set dosage and not exceeding it unnecessarily. If you are an experienced athlete and you see that the recommended dosage does not have the right effect on you, it is of course possible to give thisHowever, you need to be very careful and be aware of how much of the active substances you are taking in total. We covered this topic in detail in the article Can I overdose on a pre-workout? Which substances do I need to watch out for?
